A windowed/full-screen countdown timer.
A windowed / full-screen countdown timer. Colour and font size changes are used as warnings. Progress-bar gives a glance at the time stream. Three different modes are available: - time left; - time passed; - ordinary clock. When the time is over several possibilities are available: - to show the defined message; - to continue count the time; - to launch another application; - to close the count-down timer. Useful for speech, lecture or presentation timing. Colour / font / time limits can be changed using settings window and hot-keys. To change current time use the mouse wheel. By clicking on progress-bar, the timer mode is toggled. -

Using a combination of selective bit depth, color palette reduction and color type, as well as zopfli DEFLATE compression algorithm encoding that employs the pngquant and zopflipng PNG optimization tools, Crunch is effectively able to optimize and compress images with minimal decrease in image quality. While it may produce file size gains larger than those produced by lossless approaches, the impact on image quality is often imperceptible, and optimized file sizes are still significantly lower than the original. -

Emoji for Python. This project was inspired by kyokomi. The entire set of Emoji codes as defined by the Unicode consortium is supported in addition to a bunch of aliases. By default, only the official list is enabled but doing emoji.emojize(language='alias') enables both the full list and aliases. By default, the language is English (language='en') but also supported languages are Spanish ('es'), Portuguese ('pt'), Italian ('it'), French ('fr'), German ('de'). The utils/get-codes-from-unicode-consortium.py may help when updating unicode_codes.py but is not guaranteed to work. Generally speaking it scrapes a table on the Unicode Consortium's website with BeautifulSoup and prints the contents to stdout in a more useful format. -

Graphite does two things, it stores numeric time-series data and renders graphs of this data on demand. What Graphite does not do is collect data for you, however, there are some tools out there that know how to send data to graphite. Even though it often requires a little code, sending data to Graphite is very simple. Graphite is an enterprise-scale monitoring tool that runs well on cheap hardware. It was originally designed and written by Chris Davis at Orbitz in 2006 as side project that ultimately grew to be a foundational monitoring tool. In 2008, Orbitz allowed Graphite to be released under the open-source Apache 2.0 license. Since then Chris has continued to work on Graphite and has deployed it at other companies including Sears, where it serves as a pillar of the e-commerce monitoring system. Today many large companies use it. -
