Basic Computer Games is a modern revitalization of the classic “Basic Computer Games” book’s collection of games, ported and expanded into various modern, memory-safe and scripting languages. It includes illustrative code examples of many classic games (e.g. Blackjack, Bowling) in multiple languages, with the goal of making the historical games accessible and educational in safe modern environments. Definitely use the most recent versions and features of the target language, but also try to keep the code samples simple and explainable – the goal is to teach programming in the target language, not necessarily demonstrate the cleverest one-line tricks, or big system "enterprise" coding techniques designed for thousands of lines of code. -

Ebiten
A dead simple 2D game library for Go
Ebiten is an open source game library for the Go programming language. Ebiten's simple API allows you to quickly and easily develop 2D games that can be deployed across multiple platforms. In Ebiten, everything is an image: the screen, data from an image file, and even offscreen items are all represented as image objects. Most rendering operations consist of drawing one image on top of another. Ebiten games work on desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux, and FreeBSD), web browsers (through WebAssembly), and even on mobile (Android and iOS)! Plus, Ebiten is implemented in pure Go on Windows, so Windows developers do not need to install a C compiler. Nintendo Switch™ is also supported! While Ebiten's drawing API is very simple, Ebiten games run very fast with GPU power. Multiple images are integrated into a texture atlas internally, and drawing operations are automatically performed in batch when possible. -

A Python program/library aimed at GD-ROM image files.
This Python program/library is designed to handle GD-ROM image (GDI) files. It can be used to list files, extract data, generate sorttxt file, extract bootstrap (IP.BIN) file and more. This project can be used in standalone mode, in interactive mode or as a library in another Python program (check the 'addons' folder to learn how). For your convenience, you can use the gditools.py GUI program supplied in the Files section (optional). To use this project you must install the Python 2.7.x branch release binaries. See the README.TXT file for more informations. -

Brood War Easy Map is a C++ library that analyses Brood War's maps and provides relevant information such as areas, choke points and base locations. It is built on top of the BWAPI library. It first aims at simplifying the development of bots for Brood War, but can be used for any task requiring high level map information. It can be used as a replacement for the BWTA2 add-on, as it performs faster and shows better robustness while providing similar information. -

Many (most?) MUD servers hard-code a specific game system, or a specific game setting within their code, but HexMUD strives to be as generic as possible in this area, allowing each separate administrator to easily build a custom code base while also gaining access to all of the core features HexMUD provides. -
