CounterSocial is serious about countering fake news and propaganda. We're the only network using AI to automagically analyze uploaded content in near real-time to determine deepfake probability. We've teamed up with Botsentinel to further protect our users from foreign influence operations. The optional browser extension offers baked-in visibility of potential 'problematic' migrating accounts. CounterSocial has integrated automatic and one-click on demand identity theft alerts. COSOGuard is checking the open and dark web all day and night. If your identity is caught up in a breach - you'll know! We've also teamed up with Factlayer to integrate realtime inline automatic political bias leaning and fake news awareness via color coded links that let you know a site's veracity BEFORE you click through.

"CounterSocial is a Jester fan club" Posted 2025-08-05
Pros: Like most any social media platform, a participant can find some pleasant interaction here.
Usually certain types of rule breaking are handled relatively quickly.Cons: Ultimately this is a fan club centering around the persona of Jester.
Often there are loyalty calls, members rally to declare their loyalty to Jester. There is a group mythos that Jester is a patriot hacker, a martyr, a really special guy providing a super special platform.
The regular expressions of loyalty get tiring. As does the us vs. them.
Why believe anything that the Jester account says?
The Jester account claims that it does everything by itself, that there is no team. If true, that is completely ridiculous.Overall: I participated on and off for about six years. I no longer do so.

CounterSocial has a cultic, in-group style.
There is the tease that by paying attention to the Jester account that we'll have access to elite knowledge by a supposed elite hacker.
I eventually realized that I'm not impressed by martyrdom, not interested in being part of an artificial "special" online group. -

"Don't fall for it!" Posted 2024-12-01
Pros: Nothing. It is a scam to build numbers. They want a base that just plays games, trades recipes and post pictures of their pets.
Cons: Jester (the owner) capitalized on Twitter refugees and then harassed the same. He was looking for numbers.
Overall: Horrible! If you are political this is not the place for you. The owner will get on your case until you finally call it quits. Not worth your time

"Owners Rules" Posted 2023-11-07
Pros: No trolls, ads, propaganda. It was fairly easy to make a post and navigate but at first had to ask about some things.
Cons: Audience mainly middle-aged white. Most seem to want to talk down to you and fein concern, especially after a big Racial conversation blew up. Site owner tried to get involved but completely missed the whole point. Then made sure everyone knew he supported Israel and we'll if you didn't get on that train either shut up or you'd be banned.
Overall: If you do not adhere to the political views of site owner or prove how you have been harmed you don't matter.

"Closed minded moderation, mediocre implementation" Posted 2023-10-26
Pros: The community is friendly and I easily made connections with others there. There were no advertisements and no algorithm to drive me toward specific posts. Very refreshing that way.
Cons: I was booted when I didn't conform to the political views of the moderator. Another user made a bluntly anti-Palestinian racist remark. When I called them out for it I was kicked off the platform.
Overall: If you conform to the immediate consensus you'll be alright. It felt very much like a right wing social media site that way (though it was nominally progressive).
