Pyrrhic victory in the biting wind and the dark snowy field – Doedsrit, as many others mention, field an excellent mix of icy bleakness with majestic triumph. Every song stands out as an excellent ballad of holding on to something despite the odds. I like how the melodies and rhythms blend more stately metal and more driving punk elements to communicate different despairing vs. rebellious moments. Defiant, sorrowful, melodious, heavy – this album brings something we all need right now.

Here's to some more cosmic metal, the Karlsruhe based outfit offers crude yet extremely well produced sound in this earlier effort. Featuring mid-tempo cadences, occasional blast beating, high pitched shrieking essentially, the riffing has this mildly meaty, sensational over-atmospheric tilt that's always well received on my part. The perspective of getting sucked into a wormhole had never felt better I kid you not. Emperor and Inherits the Void in mind, you just can't skip this one.

This album has a renaissance air about it, and also all while feeling like a mystical walk in nature. The album cover does this justice. It is very relaxing, and a good addition to my collection since a lot of the other stuff I own is quite grating and chaotic. You’re going to experience soaring atmospheres, and heart felt melodies. The compositions are very smooth and don’t have that start-stop feel between sections that I find many average albums possess. 10/10 I think for me!

ULTHA is one of those bands that gives black metal that modern spin, and among all three LPs this has been recognized as their Magnum Opus... until the next release :) Like the predecessors, we have moments of calm but overturned easily with sonic deluge of such power to make your head spin. Overwhelming at times, the drums and guitars pummel relentlessly to annihilate everything around you, but as such also offer that total immersion, swallows you in and doesn't let go!
