The GCSE Academic Programme at Bath Academy is designed to enable students to easily enroll in the A-Level course and then in the best universities in the UK, Europe and the world.

GCSE classes provide students with the opportunity for almost individual learning in a relaxed but academically rigorous atmosphere. The task of the teacher is to monitor the performance of homework and tests to ensure that the full potential of students is revealed.

The Academy offers two options: a two-year basic program and a one-year intensive.

  • Basic GCSE Program

The program begins in September and lasts two years. Education is open to students over 14 years of age who have not previously completed the GCSE. Courses offered include:

This one-year course is designed for students over the age of 15 who have previously studied GCSE and feel the need to improve their actual grades, or for those who, for one reason or another, are not suitable for a two-year course. In addition, the one-year program can be an outlet for those who were forced to stop school due to illness, difficulties in the family, moving, or passed the exams unsatisfactorily. Finally, the course will be an excellent option for preparing for exam tests after breaks in studies.

Medical and related professions are among the most challenging disciplines to enter, so comprehensive basic training is essential. The Academy offers a one-year program designed to offer students the optimal basic training for admission to medical school.

Graduates of the program will receive 2 options for admission to medical school:

  1. Direct admission to one of the partner medical programs in such scientific institutions as:
  • College Dublin;
  • University of Central Lancashire;
  • Queen Mary University of London in Malta.
  1. Training in one of the European medical schools teaching in English (a total of more than 50 educational institutions).

The course provides an alternative to A-Level for medical school applicants. Students will study biology, chemistry, additional mathematics, physics or psychology, and will take introductory courses on topics such as pathology, physiology, genetics, and pharmacology. Teachers are highly qualified and have extensive practical medical experience.

The course is designed for foreign students who have a certificate of secondary education or A-level, but intend to improve their level for admission to medical school, as well as those foreigners who have not passed the UCAT / BMAT exams and wanted to undergo retraining before re-entering medical school.

English Language Courses, English Language Courses

English courses at Bath Academy are suitable for all students, from beginner to advanced levels. The curricula are focused on improving general English skills, preparing for the IELTS exam and teaching international students who do not yet feel confident when applying to English-language programs.

The most popular course aims to increase confidence and the ability to communicate in English. The student will develop their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, gain a solid foundation in grammar, enrich their vocabulary and improve their pronunciation. Classes are interactive, adapted to the needs and interests of a small group of up to 13 people.  

The courses are available in two intensity formats: 15 or 23 hours of lessons per week. Students have the option to start and finish their studies at any time.

Students can also choose an individual format in which they will study with a teacher one-on-one. This method will help you to more effectively eliminate gaps in knowledge, prepare for the exam in a narrowly focused way, and get more tips on how to improve your language skills.

Junior Summer School, Summer School

  • Age — from 12 to 16 years old,
  • The duration of the training is from one to four weeks.

During the summer months, Bath Academy offers English language courses that include exciting activities, excursions, and extracurricular activities.

  • Academic classes – 15 hours per week in small groups aimed at learning new words, practicing reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Lessons are taught by native teachers who use modern approaches to teaching children.
  • Extracurricular activities include day trips to the sights of Bath and surrounding towns, fun games, sporting events, and parties every day, including weekends. 

Students are accommodated in the academy residence or in the homes of host families. In any of the options, all students are in a comfortable atmosphere and safety: personal bedrooms, three meals a day, regular interaction with adults, comprehensive support and communication with peers - all this will make the summer holidays not only productive, but also full of new impressions!

A-Level Program

The A-Level programme aims to help students gain academic experience in preparation for university in a supportive and flexible environment, to help those who have not achieved the required grades to gain admission to the university of their choice.

The A-Level curriculum includes one-to-one instruction in small classes, giving students the opportunity to expand their knowledge of subjects and gain valuable applied skills. Regular assessment and one-on-one feedback from teachers, ongoing academic and personal support from their personal mentors are an important part of student success.

The program is taught in three formats:

  • Two-year course

Over the course of two years, students will be able to unhurriedly reveal their potential, choose subjects wisely and prepare for the exam with high quality.

  • 18-month course

The program starts in January and is ideal for students who are unable to join in September. The curriculum is standard, including the study of three or four subjects and preparation for the exam.

  • One-Year Intensive Course

An intensive course on the study of subjects that are interesting to the student and effective preparation for their passing. The program is suitable for those who feel confident in their knowledge or have already passed the A-Level, but they need to change their specialty or retake some disciplines.

The curriculum of all formats of education does not differ: students choose three or four subjects from the list and prepare for final exams. The list of disciplines includes:

Student life on campuses located in the centre of Bath is reminiscent of university, but with more academic and pastoral support. Accommodation, meals, prices

Students aged 14-18 years live in a dormitory in the central part of the city - Oxford House, where there are both double and individual rooms. The bedrooms are well furnished and have central heating. Cleaning and change of linen are provided by the administration. The building is located at a distance of less than a kilometer from the educational complex and the central part of the city.

Three meals a day are available, and breakfast is available on weekends. An individual menu is possible, taking into account religious preferences or diet.

Other accommodation is host families. This allows you to better learn the customs and traditions of life in the UK, get the practice of speaking, get informal contacts. One family accepts no more than three people at a time. Teenagers are provided with three meals a day (the school is responsible for lunches), a bed and the necessary furniture for classes and storage of personal belongings, wireless Internet access.

Finally, students over the age of 18 can be accommodated in dormitories. Young people are offered spacious and bright rooms in studio-type apartments, with an individual bathroom and a balcony or access to an open terrace. The common leisure area includes a TV, a pool table, a small bookcase and upholstered furniture.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Bath Academy positions itself as a non-selective institution, so it accepts new students in a queue format. Foreign applicants should provide:

  • Personal documents: birth certificate, passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit in the UK,
  • Academic: assessment report card from the previous place of study, exam results,
  • Individual achievements, if available: certificates, diplomas, letters of recommendation,
  • Certificate of English proficiency: IELTS from 5.0-6.0 depending on the stage of school education. The older the class, the stricter the academic plan, so it is recommended that the prospective student have a conversational level of English.
