Got Cupcakes?

Hi everyone .... hope you are all enjoying your weekend. My card today is Taylor's of Taylored Expressions Cupcake challenge. I almost used one of my owl stamps to create my card but then the cupcakes stamps all started shouting at me that they wanted to be used so who am I to argue with them ... especially as it is a cupcake challenge hehe!

I used the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder to add the texture to my pink base panel. The cupcakes were all stamped on white card and punched out using circle punches, the scallop circle is the SU scallop circle punch. This was a pretty easy card to create and would have been up hours ago if I hadn't decided to go out with my DH halfway during it being made!

Recipe:
Stamps: Cupcakes - Inkadinkado; Sentiment - Eat Cake Graphics
Paper: White; Chocolate Chip & Pretty In Pink - SU; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Close To Cocoa SU Ink; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Circle Punches; Scallop Circle Punch; Spellbinder Label Die; Brown Brads; Foam Tape; Copics

Peace on Earth!

I made this last week at a stamp club that I attend each month. Our project this month was inspired by a project in a stamp magazine that used one of the Inkdinkado bird sets. I decided to use my winter bird set by Inkadinkado instead and also used last week's sketch challenge on SCS for my card.

I used the snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder to create the texture on my white background pieces. One more Christmas card to cross off my list!

Recipe:
Stamps: Winter Birds - Inkadinkado; Sentiment - Papertrey Ink
Paper: White; Night of Navy - SU
Other: Night of Navy SU Ink; Navy Brads; Snowflake Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Foam Tape

A World Card Making Day Challenge

Well World Card Making Day is well and truly over down here in Australia ... but I had to do at least one challenge ... that challenges is the special Featured Stamper challenge that was hosted by my friend Jimmi Mayo over on SCS. The Featured Stamper was another friend of mine Sherry Campbell aka sherrylc05 over on SCS.

Sherry has a wonderful gallery of cards and after some deliberation I selected this one of hers to CASE. As per the normal rules of the Featured Stamper challenge I had to change at least 2 things, here are my changes:
  • Used a different main image
  • Used a sentiment rather than a smaller image
  • Used a different designer paper
  • Changed the theme of the card ... mine is Christmas
Recipe:
Stamps: Winter Birds - Inkadinkado; Sentiment - Gina K
Paper: White; True Thyme, Old Olive & DP - SU
Other: Old Olive SU Ink; Olive Grosgrain Ribbon; Circle Nestabilities

You're So Sweet!

Hi hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. My card today is for Taylor's if Taylored Expressions blog for her cupcake challenge she does every week.

This particularly sketch is a good one to use all those smaller images we all have .... often when I am looking for something to stamp I ignore them .... so it was fun to create this card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Cupcake Set - Inkadinkadoo; Sentiment - Gina K
Paper: White; Real Red - SU; DP - Daisy Bucket
Other: Black Ink; Circle Punches; Foam Tape

Silhoutte Owl!

Hope you are all having a great weekend, I know I am as I am getting lots of time to play the Dare to Get Dirty challenges on SCS. On Saturday and Sunday there are 4 challenges each day.

My card today combines three of the DTGD challenges ... the first is Joan's silhouette challenge. I decided to go with this Inkadinkadoo Owl ... after all it has been a while since I have used an owl (at least 2 weeks LOL!)

The second challenge used here is Jen's DTGD sketch challenge, for some reason I flipped the sketch .... I guess when I printed it out it turned it around and I didn't go back and look at Jen's version online again. But I like it flipped anyway.

The third challenge was Laura's "Get Dirty" challenge ... I sponged ink around my owl panel to create a distress look to that piece. I also used my distressed stripes cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to my river rock card andthen I sponged the raised areas with ink too, again to get a distress look.

I added the spiral clips to both ends of my ribbon for something a little different.

Recipe: Stamps: Owl - Inkadinkadoo
Paper: White; Black; River Rock & True Thyme - SU; DP - Heidi Grace
Other: Black Ink; River Rock & True Thyme SU Ink; Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Brads; Spiral Clips; Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape

Lasting Joy!

I had been hoping I would get a change to do this week's Mojo Monday sketch that Julee of Poetic Artistry hosts each week. Late last night I discovered what the color challenge was on SCS well I knew both would work well together ... so before going to bed I sat down and created my card.

I seldom use kraft card ... I am not sure why because the look is quite effective I just don't so if was fun using it for this card. BTW I almost forgot to tell you what the colors were for this week's color challenge .... soft sky, kraft and black.

I sponged the edges of the kraft panel that the bird is stamped onto using soft sky SU ink. I used the soft sky designer prints DP for the back panel ... this is actually one whole piece ... I used some black tape I had to create all my black bands ... much easier than trying to line up all those small panels and get them even. I knew I would "need" that tape one day LOL!

I will be back later today with my card for this week's sketch challenge ... can't wait to play!

Recipe:
Stamps: Birds Galore - Inkadinkadoo; Sentiment - Love To Stamp
Paper: Black; Soft Sky, Soft Sky DP & Kraft - SU
Other: Black Ink; Soft Sky SU Ink; Black Brads; Rectangle Nestabilities; Black Tape; Foam Tape

Hi Cupcake!

I didn't get to stamp until late yesterday as I spent most of the day at a local papercrafts show with a friend. I had a fun day and did come home with a few new goodies ... including this lovely DP I used on my card here.

Anyway I finally managed to sit down and work on my Beate's Weekend Sketch challenge last night. This week I decided to go with a cupcake theme. I used my long nestabilities for the green scallop rectangle on my card .... I did have to cut it down and rejoin it so I could get the size I needed. I didn't have the correct color ribbon I wanted to use so I used white and colored it with my copic markers ... I do love being able to do that. I also added tiny colored pearls to the top of each cake.

Recipe:
Stamps: Cupcake Set - Inkadinkadoo
Paper: White; Pretty In Pink & Garden Green - SU; DP - Darcies
Other: Black Ink; Long Rectangle Nestabilities; White Grosgrain Ribbon; Pink & Green Pearls; Clear Spica Pen; Foam Tape

You Old Bird!

Okay, okay I am not referring to any of you LOL ... that is just part of the sentiment that is on this particular card I made tonight so I thought that would be a good title for this card!

Today's featured stamper on SCS is Laura - aka - Scrapnextras .... I have been busy today so haven't had a lot of time to browse Laura's gallery as I would like ... I will get back to that later.... but I did spy a couple of owl cards so decided one of those would be good to CASE this week. Here is the card I finally settled on CASEing.

As per every featured stamper challenge I had to change at least 2 things in Laura's card ... here are my changes.
  • changed some of the colors
  • used a different DP from the same DP pack
  • changed the owl
  • changed the ribbon used
  • changed the sentiment
  • added the photo corner punch to the right side of card
  • changed the color of the brads used.
Don't forget to help me celebrate 12 months of blogging and win some blog candy in my post here.

Recipe:
Stamps: Bird Assortment - Inkadinkadoo
Paper: White; Pretty In Pink, Close to Cocoa; Berry Blaze DP - SU
Other: Black Ink; Close to Cocoa SU Ink; Brown Brads; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Photo Corner Punch; Foam Tape

Cranberry Bird

Today I had a couple of friends over for a club we have every month. As it is my birthday this coming Monday (Easter Monday) .... we also got to have birthday cake and I got some presents. Both friends gave me DP as part of my birthday present so I thought I would use one of those for today's sketch challenge card. The bird is one I got in a set on the weekend when I was at the paper crafts show that was up here.

The sketch today consists of 3 pieces across the centre panel .... I decided to have the two end pieces match using the DP one of my friends gave me and the middle piece is card which I embossed using the fantasy flower embossing folder and then used my sponging blocks to add the black to the panel. The bird was stamped using cranberry crisp ink on vanilla card and layered to black card .... I used old paper distress ink on the edges of this piece.

Recipe:
Stamps: Birds Galore - Inkadinkadoo
Paper: Vanilla, Cranberry Crisp & Barely Banana - SU; Glam DP - Crate Paper
Other: Black Ink; Cranberry Crisp SU Ink; Old Paper Distress Ink; Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon;
Petaloo Flowers; Foam Tape
