Dad's Hat

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Apparently today is International Tiger Day. Our challenge for this week is to include a tiger (or other cat) on your card – tiger, lion, your own little tabby (you get the idea).

I recently purchased Stampin' Up's Hats Off Die and stamp set, one of the labels included in the set that can be used to decorate the cap is a tiger. As my husband loves the Richmond Tigers which is a Australian Rules Football team here in Australia, I decided to make a Father's Day card using that label.

I have created a top folding Mini Slimline Card which measures 3 1/4 inches x 6 1/4 inches, for the layers of my card I used Mini Slimline Dies from Trinity Stamps. I die cut the cap from black and yellow cardstock and  trimmed off the brim from the yellow cap and adhered this tot the black one.

I used Lil Inker Designs "Dad" die which I die cut from black and yellow cardstock and offset the yellow over the black so it creates a shadow. I added this to the top left hand corner of the card.

I added the Happy Father's Day sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Dad & Me stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I created various layers of card and patterned paper using the Trinity Stamps Mini Slimline dies.

I added a sentiment to the rectangle panel which is from Waffle Flower Craft's Be Him Sentiments stamp set.

To finish off the inside of the card I added another of the Tiger Labels & a #1 Label to each side of the sentiment.

Give A Hoot Gift Card Holder Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off her month with one last challenge.

Give a GiftMake a card with space for a gift card, on the front! (So not insidehe card) It can be a pocket, some type of interactive mechanism or even part of your main design. Alternatively, create a gift box or package.

The background of my card using a Slimline Stamp from Stampendous called Slimline Birthday Words. It looks like a lot of coloring, but really no difference to coloring in many images.

For my card today I pulled out an older Lil' Inker Designs Give A Hoot Gift Card Holder die set. Of course being an owl lover, this is my favorite gift card holder. I die cut the gift card holder from purple polka dot paper.

Here you can see my card with the doors/wings of my gift card holder open so you can get to the gift card.

For the inside of the card I added a scalloped border to both edges using Scrapbook.com's Slim Borders die set.

I added the "happy birthday" using Picket Fence Studios Slimline Happy Birthday die set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

#1 Dad

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's Father's Day down here in Australia, so today I have two Father's Day Slimline cards I created.

For my cards today I used Honey Bee Stamps Slimline Thin Frames die set. I die cut the frame five times using various shades of blue cardstock and a grey cardstock. I then alternated the colors from each of the die cut panels to create my multi colored panel.

I adhered the panel to a folded grey Slimline card.

I added the #1 and Dad sentiments to the front of the card using white and black cardstock for the layers.

To finish off the front of the card,  I added a few grey sequins to the card.

As I had die cut the Slimline Thin Frames die five times, I had extra panels. So I cut one in half for each of my cards and adhered the half panel to the top and bottom edge of the card.

I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set.

I added two sentiments from Waffle Flower's Be Him Sentiment stamp set.

Happy Father's Day Dad

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently Yesterday was National Hot Dog Day. Make a card using something you would have at a picnic – a hot dog, a hamburger, a checkered tablecloth, or maybe some ants!

I decided at the beginning of the month to incorporated the challenges with Slimline Cards which is what I have done again today. I used Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Windows die set for the main panel on my card.

When I looked at the theme for this challenge, I remembered the cute Lili of the Valley stamp of the dog running of with the sausages ... I thought those could be hot dogs and would also work with another Lili of the Valley stamp the bear barbecuing. To make the two different sized images work together I decided to create a portrait style Slimline card and used Lawn Fawn's Grassy Hillside Stencils to add the grassy areas of the card.

I always need male birthday or Father's Day cards, so decided to use this one for a Father's Day card. I used Lil' Inker Designs D@d die for the sentiment and also the stamped sentiment from Waffle Flower.

I inked up another panel the same as the one on the front. I then used the ants from Lawn Fawn's Happy Summer stamp set and added the different food items from Lawn Fawn's Let's BBQ stamp set.

I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set for the sentiment at the top of the card. As this is a Slimline Card, which means it is narrower than a normal card, I turned the label from the die set on it's side

Dad

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have a Father's Day card I created recently ... Father's Day isn't until September here, but as I have a few cards needing to be made when I make something I think suitable for one throughout the year I put it aside for that purpose.

As you can see I created an Easel card using dies from Paper Rose; Ultimate Crafts and Lil' Inkers.

To create my sunset I used various colors of Distress Oxide inks.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Stamps: Father's Day - Simon Says Stamp
Paper: White; Black
Dies: Men Sitting on Fence - Paper Rose; Gumtree and Outback Fence; Windmill & Water Tank - Ultimate Crafts; D@d - Lil' Inker; Grass Border - MFT Stamps

Fan{tashe}tic

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a Father's Day card I created using the EK Success Googly Eyes/Mustache/Lips die set which I purchased recently. I had such fun with this die set that I made a few male cards with it which I will be sharing with you over the next couple of weeks.

For this card I used the Tattered Lace Shutter Card die set to create my card.

The sentiment is computer generated. On the last panel of the card I added the sentiment "D@D" from lil' Inker Designs.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

On the face on the front of the card I used both mustaches from the die set, one for the mustache and the other for the hair. I also used one of the circles from the other set of eyes for the nose and also the mouth.

I used the circles from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Tree-mendous Day

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Being the beginning of the month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Caz Counsell.

Caz has given us the challenge .... Forest fun... a forest scene or your favorite forest critters.

As you can see I have created my card using the Anita Frames Pop Up Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. Along the bottom edge of the card I added grass using two of the dies from the Outdoor Edges die set.

To decorate my card I used the Taylored Expressions Birch Tree Border on either side of the card and added the animals from the Stampendous Cling Pop Up Forest Stamp/Die set.

My sentiments are both computer generated.

For the front of my card I added some more grass to the bottom edge of the card and another of the Birch Trees to the left hand side of the card. I also added three of the animals from the stamp set I used on the inside.

This card look like it could work for a male card ... I never have enough of those! So I turned it into a Father's Day card even though that won't come round till next September. I added the "D@d" sentiment using die from Lil Inkers Designs.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Dad

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Danielle Lounds, our challenge hostess for the month continues to bring us the challenges.

With Father's Day just around the corner lets make a masculine card. Whether it is colors, textures, or stamps include a little masculine touch.

For my card this week, I wanted to play with a new die I purchased recently which is the Couture Creations Father & Son Fishing die. I pulled out my  Centre Step Card die to create the base of my card.

For the inside of my card I have used the Happy die and I white embossed the words 'Father's Day to the lower right hand corner of this die cut.

Owl Gift Card Holder

LilInkerOwlGCHolder-wm

Hi everyone,

A couple of weeks ago, my daughter came home from shopping and informed me she needed a gift card holder. Thinking she was giving me warning that she needed it later in the week or something I asked when for and was promptly told tomorrow. It was already late on a Sunday afternoon and I had a long list of things to do.

However, I recently purchased this fun Give a Hoot Gift Card Holder from Lil’ Inker Designs which I have wanted to play with but hadn’t as yet … so I got to work to create this Smile.

LilInkerOwlGCHolder2-wm

Here is the Gift Card holder opened complete with the gift card she was planning to give to her friend. Now all I need is a few more people to give gift cards to so I can make more … it is so much fun! Think I may need to make a Christmas version soon.

Dad

Riley1214Dad-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time again over on the Riley and Company blog. This week our challenge hostess is Kelly Santi.

Kelly has challenged us to a "Terrific Textures!" challenge. We are to use a texture like fabric, lace, burlap, etc on our card or project.

I remembered that one of my parcels I received for my birthday a few months back had a piece of Burlap Ribbon on it which I had saved so I decided to use some of that to create my card and decided to create a male card that I could put in my stash for when I need it for Father’s Day, which isn’t until September down here.

For my card I used Riley and Company’s Walter which is one of their Retro Folk images.

Riley1214Dad2-wm

For the inside of my card I added the “Happy Father’s Day!” sentiment which is from Riley and Company’s Everyday Sayings sentiment sets.

Hi everyone!

It’s Saturday which means it’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Our challenge hostess for the month, Lynda Benden has another fun challenge for us. Since Baker’s Twine is so in right now, add some twine, floss or string to your card or project.

This week is our sponsored challenge which is sponsored by Lil’ Inker Designs. I was sent the Pinwheel die and stamp set which was a lot of fun to use to create my card. I added the twine to the button which I have attached to the centre of my pinwheel.
