After spending some time testing various things I feel like it's time to release my proof of concept(......mod......alpha?) of a mechanic already somewhat available in game. Like shotguns, I wanted other weapons to have ammo types that would change the way the weapon felt, or jumbled stats around to make a weapon feel different. The mod itself is still very early, very untested 100%, but still very fun to use. As of right now I'm the only one working on this at full capactiy, I have gotten some help from a couple of the Bodhi's guys, but this is seperate from them. They gave me the ok to release it through their "brand".

Anyway, to the mod itself.

There are 3 types of ammo for assault rifles, smgs, and lmgs.

High Grade Rounds

Stronger, more accurate rounds. They have a bit of kick to them though, so recoil is a ♥♥♥♥♥. These rounds are in high demand and thus more rare, so you won't be carrying as much ammo into battle.

Surplus Rounds

Weaker, less accurate, but way less recoil. They are mostly cheap knock off or old rounds from the cold war era. They're cheap, but they get the job done.

Conversion Kits

Chains tweaked some weapons around and gave them whole new life. Can change the way a weapon works entirely.


Not every weapon has access to the 2 ammo types or kit. Some weapons have them all though.


Down to the fine details, I have virtually no idea what I'm doing. I taught myself lua, and the guys helped me figure somethings out. I'm learning as I go, so there are some issues. Somethings may be over powered, some might be under powered. Working a full time job and dealing with life, I don't have all the free time I wish I did to work on this. I decided to release it for you guys to use and pick through. Hopefully togetehr we can make something fun and add more variety and excitement to the game.

Known issues
Third person world models will have a shotgun grip visible in the safehouse. Not sure if it happens in game, and it only happens if ammo is equipped. So it shouldn't bother anything.

Some weapons might not be entirely balanced, or some weapons won't have more than one type. As of now that's intentional. At a later time I might decide to release both ammo types for all weapons.

The only weapons that have ammo types are assault rifles, lmgs, and smgs. Pistols might come eventually if the mod is well liked and its requested enough. Sniper rifles, shotguns, and special weapons most likely WON'T be receiving different ammo types since they would be more complicated to code.
