Shopping list, Community notes and game page changes

We all love lists, right? If Waitlist is our version of wishlists, you can think of Shopping lists[isthereanydeal.com] as our version of shopping carts. They are sharable, configurable, and users without account can use them too.

I created and share done, take a look[isthereanydeal.com].

You can't use them to buy games directly, but hear me out.

The original idea was to help during large sales, when you might consider buying multiple games at once. When you put games in here, you will have see three "purchase orders" computed: Best price, Balanced, and Least shops.

Best price will show you where to buy these games from for the cheapest. Least shops will try to find a purchase order from minimal number of shops (I imagine it will usually just be one - Steam) but it might be more expensive. Balanced is somewhere in between, where it will try to get you the best possible combination from 2 or 3 stores. These purchase orders are then further configurable (preference of favorite shops, filter DRM, hand pick shops), or even fully customizable if you want to build a completely different one.

Now, I don't expect everyone is buying multiple games at once all the time, but you can use shopping lists also as a list of games you want to keep your eye on, but maybe don't want to put them into Waitlist. If you don't have account, this is how you can keep track of games if you don't delete Cookies and visit ITAD at least once a month.

You can also share shopping lists. When you do, it won't be tied to your account in any way, and it doesn't share purchase orders, because everyone's preferences may be different, but this can help if you want to send someone a list of hidden gems from current sale, or if someone asks "which DLCs are worth it for this game".

Second big feature of this update are community notes. Community notes are meant to be used to share information that might be important to know before purchase. As an example: I was thinking of buying Watch_Dogs[isthereanydeal.com] the other day, and I learnt from reviews and discussions that online features don't work in Steam version. This is something I imagine community notes to be used for.

Another example might be when two shops sell the Gold Edition of the same game, but on one of the shops, the Gold Edition was not updated or does not contain some bonus content. This is not really something that would trigger splitting up the game, because it would just make this more confusing without extra info, so instead, community notes should be used for this.

Community notes will be moderated. Anyone with account can submit edits, and you will be able to check note's history. However, we won't, unless it's something really obvious, always confirm that the information in the note is correct, we assume we have community that doesn't want to poison this.

If you find the information in the note incorrect or outdated, you are more than welcome to submit an edit. This also does not replace the current reporting features.

We are not really sure how (or whether at all), you're going to use Community notes, there are no strict rules as of now what can be submitted, but as I said, the premise is that it should have information that are useful prior to purchase.


The rest of the update we will handle quickly. You can see multiple changes on game pages:

• Favorites have been merged with pricing table, I felt like there were too many different sections
  
• Giveaways will now show at the top of pricing table, so you shouldn't miss it when the game is free. Example[isthereanydeal.com]
  
• added package comparison table. We'll see how well will this work in reality, pretty much only source for package contents right now is Steam, and they don't make it easy to be honest - look for link below the "Found in following packages" table. For example on Victoria 3[isthereanydeal.com] page.
  
• price statistics at the top of the game page now respect your hidden shops
  
• you can get all time low/1 year low/3 month low for individual shops (hover your mouse over the store low column in price table)
  
• subscription box is more compact now
  
• updated DLC parent box - Rain World Downpour[isthereanydeal.com]
  
• updated package contents and list of DLCs - you can go directly to the store now
  
• simplified bundle listings
  
• there's a new Steam reviews chart in stats that will show rating over time. Admittedly, Steam.db does this better, but I had data so I thought why not. Best example is probably No Man's Sky[isthereanydeal.com]

Both Wait[isthereanydeal.com] and Collect[isthereanydeal.com] now has more granular options. You can choose what will happen when you click on the respective buttons. So if you don't want to choose rules or categories, you can turn it off now.

Cancel handling has also been improved - e.g. if you cancel rule selection, game won't be added to your Waitlist anymore.

And last, but not least, you can now choose multiple default rules. Up to 5. Both as generic default and for individual linked profiles.
