Not the game I started playing back in 2021. It has gotten too hard to spot enemies in this game, with all of the clutter on your screen. This last achievement I have put off for literally 2 or 3 years, that being the Close 250 Rifts achievement. This last achievement marks my departure from the game I adored so much. Going from 2 stars in 2021, to 6 stars in 2024, bouncing between 4, 5 and 6 stars (5 star purgatory). This game was very good before the 1896 update, and I really mean that. After the 1896 update, Hunt Showdown was forever changed, into a game I cannot recognize or appreciate any longer. Too those who are curious about this game, I encourage you to try it for yourself, for you may find the spark in this game that I have lost over the years. I'd like to say I miss the old days of Hunt, but I must move on. I disappoints me to write a negative review for something that I have spent a considerable amount of time with. This game is the one game in my library that I have the most hours. Maybe one day I can come back to a better Hunt, but the fact that Sole Survivor is literally dead (The last games I played in the mode had only me or one other guy in them) and the fact that the game is incredibly hard to look at, and that fact the Colorado map sucks layout wise, and the fact that there are still bugs that have been in the game since 2021 and before and the hard focus on money and monetizing has kill my love and ambition for this game. There is still a lot of work that is needed to be done to this game, but is being neglected by Crytek and their development team for monetizing the crap out of this game. The 1896 update is one of the worst updates in video game history for a game and studio of this size, and the amount of support and standard of game before the update, is astounding. I think it is a real achievement for a studio to literally kill their own game just from one horrible update. One update that was not optimized at all. In all it is a shame that a game of such high regard has come to the point it is in. Very disappointing, please change my mind.
