An absolute masterpiece. Incredible story with impressive depth, impressive graphics (especially for the age of my PC), good artstyle, good humour, and good gameplay.

If I had to nitpick anything, it'd be very minor clipping during some animations/cutscenes, and the usual genre fault that turn-based gameplay can get repetitive at times.

10+/10, an absolutely incredible game that everybody should play.

SPOILER: For those wondering, I picked Verso's Ending.

A great artstyle, some great graphics, and great gameplay make this a masterpiece. Flaws are small enough to be overlooked, and do not detract greatly from the experience.

This game is both unique and groundbreaking enough to be rated my first 10+/10 game. (Aside from FFXIV, which is an MMO.) It's honestly very impressive that my expectations for the game were high, but somehow this game managed to completely blow them out of the water! Without doubt, a generational game that will be talked about and remembered for years to come.

[DLC reviewed separately as it is both large enough and pricey enough to be it's own game.]

Games I’ve gotten every Steam achievement for:

- Hades - great gameplay, great art, great story, a game everybody should play! Getting all achievements isn’t hard, but will take a bit of time.

- Horizon Zero Dawn - good game, pretty standard RPG, but you get a variety of (mostly) bows to use. Getting all achievements requires NG+ on the highest difficulty, but with a maxed character and persistence, it’s nothing hard.

- Gris - a puzzle/adventure game with incredible art, and a deep story. Some achievements needed a guide but nothing hard here, just enjoy the ride.

- (the) Gnorp Apologue - it’s alright but incremental games aren’t for everybody. Getting all achievements isn’t hard, but the grind can be boring.

- Sable - game isn’t well optimised, but it’s got good exploration, good art, and an overall nice vibe. Grabbing every achievement isn’t hard either.

- Dredge - the DLCs aren’t really worth the money, but I do like lovecraftian games! Gameplay is chill, as expected of a slightly spooky fishing game (unless you’re at low sanity during the night, then it gets tense). I had to get every achievement multiple times thanks to each DLC release, but nothing hard here.

- Persona 5 Royal - a little tedious to get through all the floors of momentos, and the game length was slightly long since I mostly played over 2-3 weeks, but still an incredible game. Getting all the achievements could be done along the way too, so nothing particularly hard here!

- Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - great melee combat and gameplay, a real step-up from older titles like Left 4 Dead 2. Getting all achievements isn’t too hard, with only one being a little challenging. Worst-case scenario just grab a friend who’s good at the game!

- Undead Horde 2: Necropolis - simple game, slightly frustrating at times if you get stuck, but once you get a good build/strategy going it’s smooth. Getting every achievement wasn’t hard, as expected for a small game.

- Nova Lands - it’s an alright game, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you really enjoy automation games. It gets grindy at the end and there’s some waiting around, as buildings take ages. For every achievement, you thankfully don’t actually need to do everything, so you can skip some of the grinding deep in the endgame!

- Slime Rancher - incredibly cute and surprisingly emotional game. Obtaining all achievements was a little stressful on rush mode, but at least you don’t have to do every single milestone on the minigames, so that’s nice.

- Chants of Sennaar - I don’t really have the patience for puzzle games, so I did cheat a little on this one. Still a neat little game though! Getting every achievement is pretty easy too.

- Metal: Hellsinger - I’m not a fan of this genre, as I’m pretty bad at dodging and fast-paced combat. Still, the music really makes this game, and having to shoot on the beat is a unique little mechanic. Getting all achievements wasn’t hard.

- Beyond Galaxyland - An underrated game. This one is a very charming game with a lot of heart! Simple gameplay that’s engaging, a decent story, good art, and it’s easy to see that the developer was extremely passionate. Gaining all achievements could be done pretty organically as you play through the game.

- Citizen Sleeper - Lovely art, but more of a VN than an actual RPG. Still, I had fun with this, though getting every achievement meant I had to do three playthroughs.

- Remnant 2 - The first game was an underrated gem of a game, and the second game brings more of the same incredible gameplay. Getting every achievement was pretty painful though, highlights include an extremely long quest in DLC3, and having to beat DLC2 thrice for a single weapon that has a steam achievement tied to it. You can cheese these with a helpful friend (or ask on the discord), but even then it’s a rough one. My love of the gameplay was what made me get every steam achievement, and jeez was it hard.

- Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii - A game with a pretty hilarious premise. Despite the lighthearted tone and relatively easy combat throughout, it still managed to deliver an impressively deep story, and it was a great entry into the Yakuza series for me. I’m now planning on eventually playing the rest of the games, though it will take me a long time. Obtaining every achievement wasn’t that bad, as you don’t have to do everything in the game thankfully. Still a decently long grind, but nothing too grating.

- Merchant of the Skies - I wasn’t a massive fan of this game. I feel like Merchant of the Six Kingdoms is simply a better merchant-simulator. The early game is slow, the mid game is grindy, and somehow even the late game feels like a bit of a grind. If I wasn’t a fan of the niche genre, and if the game was much longer, I probably wouldn’t have bothered getting every achievement on this one. At least it wasn’t hard.

- Horror at Highrook - Short but good. I respect that it’s a lovecraftian game, but pulls little lore from the source. Seems to have its own monsters, its own ideas, which I like! The achievements are mostly gotten through just playing the game, and it isn’t hard to mop up anything you miss. At full price it’s a little much for the length, but on sale it’s easily worth it. (For context, I paid around $12.)

- Ball X Pit - The latest addition to this list. Not a huge game but pretty fun. Achievements are slightly grindy but nothing particularly hard.

- Slime Rancher 2 - From addressing the ending of the first game, to adding more content, it’s impressive how much they managed to build off of in this one. I already mentioned all of this in my review, but I’m saying it again because it’s always a pleasant surprise when a sequel improves so much on the original. 100% steam achievements was a little grindy but nothing too bad, but if you’re going for every upgrade or every treasure pod, getting every decoration or buying out all the stores, that will take you a long time!

- Loddlenaut - A very chill and cozy cleaning sim. Getting every achievement was a slight grind when I realised I missed something, and I had to spend a couple hours AFK while waiting for biomes to fill. Overall, easy to 100%, and good for a nice and slow afternoon or two.

- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Oh man what a game. I haven't seen anything this good since Elden Ring! Genuinely an incredible masterpiece and I feel sorry for anybody who hasn't yet played this incredible game. Getting all achievements isn't that easy, and I recommend a guide if you struggle with a certain Elden Ring-esque boss :P

Games I used to have every achievement on:

- Borderlands 3 - I stopped playing this one after Krieg’s DLC came out, and I paid $20 for 3-5hrs of content. When the next two DLCs came out, I never mopped up those last few achievements. Might still go back for this one.

- Crime Scene Cleaner - Chill and satisfying, though they added more achievements with the nightmare update. Definitely will get around to this one…eventually.

- Cult of the Lamb - It got fairly boring after I could no hit the bosses and had done more or less everything. They added marriage and some other stuff but I’m not going to bother with this one.

- Vampire Survivors - I think I got every achievement for this game 4 times now? But they just keep adding more…will I go back for this? Unlikely, but there’s a chance.
