No two games are the same. Basically meaning infinite hours to play.
Every nation from between year 1444 and 1821 is playable.
You will lose a lot until you learn the game, just make sure you know WHY you lost.
Go either England, Portugal, Castile or Ottomans to start with. They are all easy in their own right.

I mixed some elements but got my base mixture wrong creating something I hadn't planned. It was a drug that made a person thirsty, the more they drank the more faint they felt and to cap it off, it had the trait of rapid to react. Basically the ultimate date rape drug.

10/10

The game looks and plays like a Facebook game, it's even impossible to lose. I kept waiting for the tutorial to be over but it turned out to be one big tutorial you can't lose.

It probably takes about 3 hours to complete (I was regularly away from my PC while it was still running thus 6 hours displayed).

It has achievements you unlock through the menu, yet they don't have them through Steam nobody can see I 100% completed this "game".

I wouldn't recommend this game at any price, I only finished it because I knew I was halfway through by the time I realised the tutorial was the entire game. It didn't help that the last 20 minutes was just grinding out points to buy temples.

tldr; don't buy this, if it's already too late when you see this, click the hand of God quickly. You can get multiple returns that register as one click.

"Overwhelmingly positive" is the Steam rating and I have no idea why. By day 10 you've seen and done everything, I'm on day 20 and literally can't even force myself to open the game and continue playing. Maybe I was lucky? Maybe I just knew the type of game I was walking into so I made the right choice in priorities? Maybe the game doesn't kick in properly until after this? Regardless of why, I'd rate it a solid 5/10, it was fun for a couple of hours until I had my house secured, food plentiful and weapons for security.

Pick it up at 75% off and enjoy it for a few hours at least.

Got this game for free, well worth a big mac meal at the very least.

e: honestly, it's great just to pick up and play for 20 mins every now and then. Every day you get a new level to ride on too. I think as far as progression goes there could be more. The level cap is 25 but I just wish there was more.

So I hadn't played Half-Life before now but with the very high rating and the fact I bought it at some point meant I did have to play it eventually.

No rose tinted glasses here and quite simly, the game is old.
- The graphics are terrible when compared to today (obviously... 11 years of graphics improvements).
- The movement isn't smooth, you jump and glide further than you like. This makes precision jumping a bit difficult.
- You basically have to save very often and also need to save scum. There are areas you'll flat out die with 100 health if you approach it wrong and even after a few attempts might need more strategy. Given that, there are frequent health top ups from the wall, crates and scientists.
- You only get snippets of what's going on. In fact, after 30 mins you know 90% of the story but this is the sorta game you could easily be finding logs laying around of various experiments to give everything a backstory.
- You can easily get lost and confused as to what you need to do so it's kinda frustrating having to backtrack 5 minutes only to realise there was a tiny hole you were meant to go through.

The level variety was impressive considering it is a 17 year old game and I DO see how it must have been mind blowing at the time... but without the nostalgia, this game isn't going to be fun.

You'll beat the game + expansion in a couple of hours. At the current price point, that makes it £1 / hour. During sales you do get it at 75% off so if you wait, it's 25p / hour.

The game is a fun title, poking fun (obviously) at the DLC trend that games seem to have these days. It's got inside jokes and a recognisable guest appearances.

There's not much to the game, you need to collect coins to unlock DLC, which in turn makes the 2 hours to complete the game a smart length. Any longer and the game would be boring and the hook would lose it's appeal.

There's absolutely no replayability for the game other than achievement hunting but even at that, it's possible to get all but 2 achievements (speed run achievements) in your first playthrough.

I wasn't a fan. My biggest gripe, which you will think is insignificant until you've played it all the way through, is the spawn system. You die and restart from your last checkpoint then for a few seconds you can't jump or glide. This leads to quick deaths and frustration if you do get stuck.

It lasts about 2 hours with the main game but it also has collectibles you can go back and get so there is some replayability but nothing changes.

I'd recommend it middle of the road, if you want a side scrolling platformer, it's cheap and does get much cheaper, but if you just think IT'S ON SALE LET'S BUY IT then I wouldn't bother.

It begins fun but seriously outstays it's welcome. Why?

You build up, but the game doesn't change. Managing the rent of 4 tenants every 2 minutes is fine, even 8 tenants I can live with. But then it's 12... then 16.
You will realise eventually that tenant X deals best with hero Y which gives you an edge next time you fight. But you can't just shift people homes so you're stuck with the initial order. Well, you can move but it's very costly since the tenants don't take the goods with them and you can't transfer the goods manually so you'll have monster X unhappy until you sell all monster Y's goods then rebuy their own and vice versa.
Now with the above in mind, the heroes become VERY strong which makes battles difficult. They'd be manageable if there was a pause button, but you can't pause it to micromanage so while you're dealing with heroes on one level, your monsters are returning home (effectively flanking the heroes) and dying because you're focussing on the front monsters not dying.
You can't "level up" the tenants either, the weather can affect their stats as can living near a creature they hate I believe, but not being able to level up makes the game much more difficult too.

I paid $4 for it and I'd say that is about the right price point for what I got out. I would give it 5/10. If the game stopped after three floors and added a pause button it could even push up to 6 or 7/10.
