Funny story. I wanted to select an appropriate username to express my feelings about the mandatory third-party launcher, but I just couldn't come up with a unique one.

I finally settled on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

You see some reviewers claim that real-world knowledge is preventing them from enjoying the game, that the game's rules are illogical and unintuitive. You don't really know what they are talking about, because they don't give examples. So I'll fill that gap.

You have 3 chips: a slow combinatorial chip C1 (whose output never changes after stabilizing, but that shouldn't really matter), a slow sequential chip S1 and a fast sequential chip S2. You combine them to build a bigger chip moving the data in one direction with no backfeeding:

C1 -> S2 -> S1

What do you think is going to happen if you remove S2 and just connect it like so:

C1 -> S1

Is the whole thing going to be faster or slower?

That's right. It's going to be... slower. If you go step by step you'll see S1 just spin its wheels, doing nothing for half the clock cycle. What. The. ♥♥♥♥.

Can I learn these quirks, understand them and work with them? Yes. Do I want to? No.

The most Slav game ever not made by a Slav. The dev is addicted to pushing fixes and making new content. I believe he vowed to "eat his own member" if some patch a few years back wasn't the last. It's more likely that this game will win Labor of Love 2040. I recommend subscribing to the updates, the guy is hilarious. Or maybe not. If he gets too popular, he won't be able to get away with his outrageous antics. Did he make a political assassination mod contest at the worst possible time or did I imagine this?

It's not the same without Chupa Chups®. ;(

It's just a simple time waster playable with one hand and half the brain. What's with the hype? I've enjoyed these 18 hours, but I'm sick of it now. It's not addictive and it's definitely not challenging.

There is a puzzle involving a write-protected floppy disk. You solve it the same way it's done in real life. Good luck doing this without a walkthrough young ones.

I couldn't fathom why this game is overwhelmingly positive until I got prompted to write a review. But only after finishing it. Why yes, I'll happily write one if you're asking so nicely.

I have to make up for all the players who couldn't slog through the tedium. They are a lot less likely to make their opinion known to you. Nobody asks them to write a review.

Gaben should ban this practice, it's misleading. This game would likely have 60-70% rating without juking the stats. Always remember to check the most upvoted negative reviews and don't just look at the rating.

EDIT: The new expansion pass is fabulous and it's the best level pack for quake II available, including the main campaign. They really get it.

Note to self: the last two expansions are pretty meh, skip them on next replay.
