Quick and Easy Christmas Projects - Day 5

Hi everyone.  Christmas will be here before we know it.  The last four years I've blogged about last minute Christmas ideas you could make in under 60 minutes.  Well, it's that time again and I've got some new projects to share.

It's always a challenge to give a gift to a great teacher; something they will actually use.
How about creating a personalized note pad using the teacher's initial.

Cut cardstock 4" x 4" and cover with pattern paper.  This is a great project for scraps.  Bind the panels creating the holder.  Place a sticky note pad inside.    Add a circle to the front panel with an initial.

Place the note pad in a cellophane bag and finish off with a great bow.

I think the teacher will love it don't you?

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to stop by daily as I show you more quick and easy Christmas projects.

Whiskers Graphics Mini Album

Hi everyone, I'm on the Whisker Graphics blog using assorted Whisker Graphics products to create a mini travel themed album.

Supplies:
Bags - Middy Bitty Bags
Divine Twine Collection - Navy Solid, Red Solid
Divine Twine Bamboo – Green and White
Divine Twine Metallics - Black Diamond
Divine Twine kNots - Blueberry
Divine Twine Diva - The Wheat Diva
Cardstock
Pattern paper
Zutter Bind it All

To create each page of the album, begin by adhering 2 bags together.  This will give substance and support to the album.

Next, use the Zutter Bind it All to punch holes in each bag.

Add the binding.

Tie assorted twine to the binding.

Decorate each page with cardstock and pattern paper.

Create tags to fit each opening by cutting cardstock and pattern paper to fit.  Punch holes in each tag and add twine.

The tags add additional space in the mini album for photos and journaling.

I created a travel themed album, but think of the variety you can create - birthday, graduation, wedding and so much more.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Post-it Note Holders with Rinea Foils

Hi everyone, I'm on the Rinea blog today with some little gifts to share.

I wanted to create some small inexpensive gifts that can easily be recreated.  These would be a perfect little something for a teacher or for anyone who uses lots of Post-it Notes!  I know I use post-its all day!

I have tons of chipboard coasters in my stash and knew they'd be a perfect size to use.  I cut assorted foils to fit - Blush/Blush Star Struck Foiled Paper, Copper/Copper Glossy Foiled Paper and Violet/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.  Since the chipboard is 4" square, you can easily get 3 note holders from one 9" x 12" foil sheet.

Using my Zutter bind-it-all, I punched holes in the foiled panels and added wire to create my little books.

Once the wire is added, I adhered the Post-It notepad inside.  I stamped some phrases that I wanted to use, adhering them to the note pads with Beacon Adhesives.  Then I added Petaloo flowers to the corner.

ADD NEW PICTURE

Finally, since I have someone specific who will love the purple note holder, I created a coordinating gift bag.

ADD NEW PICTURE

Rinea Foils emboss beautifully when used with an embossing folder.  I cut the Violet/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper to fit within the embossing folder.

Isn't it gorgeous????

I used Beacon Tacky Glue to adhere the embossed panel to a white gift bag, then die cut Thanks from a left over piece of the foil.  Since the foil is double sided, the possibilities are endless and all scraps can be used.  I ran Thanks through my Xyron Sticker Maker for complete and easy adhesive coverage.

I adhered Petaloo flowers in the upper corner of the gift bag with brad so as to coordinate with the Post-it Note holder.

Aren't they awesome?

Who would you give these to?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Halloween Mini

As a member of the Scraputante Design Team, I had fun creating this mini album using the awesome kit I received this month.  This kit had Jenni Bowlin papers, twine, die cuts, buttons and more.

I created this mini album from coasters I picked up at a local restaurant.  I covered each coaster with pattern paper and inked the edges before binding them together with my Bind-it-all.

Decorating the front cover was so much fun with tickets, spiders and a ghost all tied together with twine under the title.

I added little embellishments on the interior pages - buttons, twine, pieces of pattern paper, etc.

Another look.

With the paper selections, this was the cutest mini album to create.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Pattern paper: Jenni Bowlin
Twine: May Arts, The Twinery
Ink: Clearsnap
Binding: Zutter Bind-it-all

What's in Your Purse?

This purse was so much fun to create and decorate. Instead of using it for photos, I decided to use it to document what we have in our purses! I have always loved my Cricut and since Jinger Adams is having a DT call, I decided to audition.

Using the Cricut Paisley Cartridge and the multi cut feature, I cut 4 pieces of chipboard at 7 3/4". Using the Deep Cut Blade Housing for the chipboard created perfect cuts. Pattern paper was adhered to both sides of the chipboard creating a sturdy purse. Clearsnap inks were used to accent each page and Want2scrap pearls were added for some pizzazz. Except as noted, all cuts are from the Paisley Cartridge.

Front cover:

Flowered paper was cut to fit the chipboard. Using the shift + purse created the striped panel. A yellow handle was added and the green flower button was attached. The smaller button was embossed with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and then inked with brown ink.

The interior purses were cut from pattern paper at 7 3/4" and the handles were cut from brown cardstock and adhered over the pattern paper purses. A block of cream cardstock was cut 4" x 5 3/4" and matted with blue cardstock. "Shop til you drop" was cut at 3" from blue cardstock and in shadow from brown cardstock. A pocket page was created using a punch for details. "Receipts" was cut at 1" from brown cardstock using the Plantin Cartridge. The letters were easy to adhere since I ran them through my Xyron Sticker Maker.

Another pocket page was created from cream cardstock at 4 1/2" x 4". "Phone" was cut at 1" and "hi" was cut at 3/4" from brown cardstock using the Plantin Cartridge, then adhered using Xyron Sticker Maker. The phone was cut at 4" from brown cardstock. The layers were created from cream and blue cardstock and the phone was assembled and slipped in the pocket. The IPOD was cut twice at 3 1/2" from the striped pattern paper and the flowered paper. The top layer was cut from cream cardstock and inked before adhering. The note was cut from yellow cardstock and a pearl was added on top.

Little pockets were created from green pattern paper, cut at 1 1/2" x 2". The edges were inked with brown ink before adhering. The keys were cut from at 2" from silver cardstock using the Sentimentals Cartridge. The lipstick was cut at 2" and the nail polish was cut at 3" from green and pink cardstock using the Forever Young Cartridge. The pocket base was cut 3" x 5 1/2" as a pouch for the sunglasses which were cut at 2" from pattern paper and a shadow from brown cardstock. Crystal Effects were added to give the illusion of eye pieces. A smaller pocket was added on top and a pen (cut from the Sentimental Cartridge) was inserted. I printed a calender from the internet and cut it to fit the other pocket, adding some twine to the top. Faux stitching was added around the pocket

The back cover was cut from a paisley paper and adhered to the chipboard. Using the shift + purse created the striped panel to mimic the front cover. A yellow handle was added and the green flower button was attached. The smaller button was embossed with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and then inked with brown ink.

Once I had the purse completed, I bound it with my Zutter Bind-it-All and added some ribbons to the rings.

Supplies:
Tools: Cricut Expession, Cuttlebug
Cartridges: Paisley, Plantin, Sentimentals, Forever Young
Cardstock: Bazzill, American Crafts
Pattern paper: Authentique
Ink: Clearsnap
Embossing: Cuttlebug
Pearls: Want2scrap

Mini books

This week's challenge at Justrite is to create with left overs.

No whole sheet of papers were cut in the creation of these mini books. All the papers were left overs from previous projects.

The pattern paper was cut 5 1/2" X 3 1/2" and adhered to chipboard cut the same size, both inside and out for a finished look.

25 index cards (3" x 5") were used for the interior pages.

The sentiments were stamped in black or brown ink and matted with cardstock before adhering to the covers.

Zutter 1/2" wires were used to bind the pages together and ribbon was added for a finished look.

These were very quick and easy to put together and would make a nice gift for a friend, don't you think!

Supplies:
Stamps: Justrite Friendship Sentiments
Ink: Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx - Truffle
Binding: Zutter
Ribbon: Offray
Pattern papers: K&Co., DCWV, GCD
