Thanks Cards with Arnold Grummer Papermaking

Hi everyone, I'm on the Arnold Grummer blog with a set of cards using papers made from the Arnold Grummer Papermaking kits.

Using several sheets of previously made hand made paper, I chose a pink toned paper and a blue toned paper.  These were prefect for creating both feminine and masculine cards.

For the feminine card, I used the pink toned paper.   I inked a background stamp with brown ink and stamped it onto the handmade paper.

I tore the background and adhered it to a cardstock panel.

Stamp a sentiment with black ink on a scrap of the same handmade paper.  Emboss it, then die cut it and lightly ink it.  Mat it with a larger die.

Wrap ribbon around the stamped panel and adhere the panel to card base.  Add the sentiment with foam adhesives for dimension.  Adhere Robin's Nest dew drops about the card making it more feminine.

A masculine version follows using light blue handmade panel with a stencil and blue ink.

The panel was matted with blue cardstock and added to a card.  I added burlap to the corner along with assorted gears giving it a real masculine feel.

I used the same sentiment, stamping it in blue ink on a scrap of the same handmade paper.  Emboss it, then die cut it and lightly ink it.  Mat it with a larger die.  It was then added with foam adhesives for dimension.

Quick and Easy Christmas Projects - Day 3

Hi everyone.  Christmas will be here before we know it.  The last four years I've blogged about last minute Christmas ideas you could make in under 60 minutes.  Well, it's that time again and I've got some new projects to share.

I created these fun Christmas cards using the Rinea Jolly Foiled Paper Variety Pack, stencils and paints.  If you haven't used Rinea Foiled Papers to create mixed media effects, you will be amazed at how sturdy the foils are.

From the Jolly Foiled Paper Variety Pack, I used Starstruck Silver, Glossy Ruby/Gold, Glossy Silver/Gold and Glossy Emerald/Gold.

I used Memory Box ornament dies.  They come with the both the base layer die and the detailed top layer die, and when combined, they create amazing ornaments.

Using a stencil from Expressions Craft, I created two different backgrounds.

On the Starstruck Silver Foil, I used gray paint randomly through the stencil.  I did not want full coverage so I randomly added gray paint.

Using the same stencil, I created a very different effect on the  Glossy Ruby/Gold panel by spritzing Tattered Angels Baseboard Mist through the stencil.

I matted the Starstruck Silver panel with the reverse side of the Glossy Ruby/Gold foil.  To create the ornaments, I layered the Glossy Gold outline atop the Glossy Ruby base using On Point Glue.  I adhered them to the silver panel with foam adhesives for dimension.  A strip of Glossy Gold was added across the top of the card to anchor them to the card.  The sentiment from Joy Clair Stamps was stamped on a white oval, matted with Glossy Ruby/Gold foil and adhered to the card amongst the ornaments. The panel was then added to a panel of white before being adhered to a black card.

To create the other set of ornaments,  I layered the Glossy Silver outline atop the Glossy Gold base using On Point Glue.  I adhered them to the stenciled Glossy Ruby panel with foam adhesives for dimension.  A strip of Glossy Gold was added across the top of the card to anchor them to the card.  The sentiment from Joy Clair Stamps was stamped on a white oval, matted with Glossy Gold and adhered to the card amongst the ornaments. The panel was then added to a Glossy Emerald/Gold   panel before being adhered to a white card.

These ornaments are quite delicate and the foils make them stand out.  Adhered to stenciled backgrounds, the ornaments really stand out.

Summer Crafting with Imagine Crafts

Hi everyone, crafting during the summer months often takes a back seat to outdoor activities and it can often be hard to find some creative time.  Rather than stress about it, doing a little advance prep work will give you the freedom to create even if you only have 30 minutes available.

See how I prepare assorted papers in advance so I can create a card or two when I have limited time.

Stop by the Imagine blog for details.

Fly High Stenciled Cards

Hi everyone, I've got some new cards on the ExpresionsCraft blog using stencils to create backgrounds.  Stencils can be used to create amazing, one of a kind, patterns for your cards.

Using the new Vintage Style Stencil, I placed it on white cardstock and spritzed it with several colors of Fireworks! by Imagine. Then I flipped over the inked stencil onto another piece of cardstock and used a brayer to release the ink creating a negative effect. The photo on the left is the original spritzed stencil.  Next I matted each piece with cardstock.

I inked the Leafy Wreath embellishments with Brilliance Gold Ink.

I stamped butterflies from the Happy Fly stamp set and colored them with Memento Markers.  I die cut each and matted with a larger die, then added the Leafy Wreath around the butterflies.

The panel were wrapped with ribbon and twine and the butterfly pieces were added.

Fly High was stamped, inked and matted then added to the cards.

Just for you Card

Hi everyone, I forgot to share this fun card I created for Imagine.

My card starts with the Crafter's Workshop stencil and Brilliance Pearlescent Lime Ink.

I then inked May Arts Sheer ribbon with the same ink so it would coordinate with the card.

I colored a stamp from Expressions Craft stamps with Memento Markers, then fussy cut it.

The stenciled panel was matted with brown cardstock then wrapped with the inked ribbon.  The panel was then added it to the card with foam adhesives.  I used graduated dies, cutting them in half and adhering them over the ribbon.  The flower was added on top and a sentiment was added to the corner.

Lastly, twine was tied around the ribbon.

Whoop by Creative Vision Stamps

Hi everyone, I've created a new card using stamps from Creative Vision Stamps.

This stamp - Whoop De Freakin' Do! can be used for so many reasons, don't you think?  I chose to add it to a simple background created with the Feathers Mixed Media stencil from Expressions Craft.

The stenciled panel was matted with green cardstock and wrapped with twine before being added to a kraft card.  The sentiment was die cut, matted with a larger die and added to the card where the right side was cut off.  To create the dots around the card, I used Imagine's texture medium - IrRESISTibles - Wedding Dress.  It added nice texture around the card.

Just For You with ExpressionsCraft

Hi everyone, I'm on the ExpresionsCraft blog using an assortment of products from the store.

I used a piece of stenciled cardstock that was left over from another project I recently created.  To get the negative image, I first spritzed it with a little water, then placed the inked side on white cardstock.   flipped it over.  Then I used a brayer to release the ink onto the white cardstock.

The panel was cut to fit the card, inked with yellow and brown inks then matted with off-white cardstock.  Next, I wrapped the panel with twine then adhered the panel to a brown card.

The Leafy Flora embellishment was inked with assorted colors of Brilliance inks.

The Flora embellishment was adhered to ovals and then placed on the card with foam adhesives.  Gems were added to the flower centers and the sentiment was stamped, matted and placed on top of the ovals, slightly behind the embellishment.

I've created some birthday tags using stencils and stamps from the store.

Using the Feather Mixed Media Stencil, I placed it on white cardstock and inked it with several colors of Brilliance Inks  Then I flipped over the inked stencil onto another piece of cardstock and used a brayer to release the ink creating a negative effect.  I matted each piece with cardstock creating the tags.

Using the new Birthday stamp set, I stamped the birthday cake and the package three times.  I die cut each piece and matted with a larger die.  I added color with Memento Markers, then stamped HB2U around the images.

Mixed Media Journal

Hi everyone, I've created another video post for Expressions Craft.  I used the Happy Fly Stamp set along with the Brick Wall  Stencil and the Designer Rectangle Frame chipboard embellishments.

Here's the video of my journal.

I began by painting the journal and chipboard elements with black gesso. Color was added using Fireworks Shimmery Craft Sprays from Imagine.  Butterflies form the stamp set were randomly stamped around the journal.  Butterflies and leaf stems were die cut from Rinea Foiled Papers.  Finally a phrase from the stamp set was added to the left side.

Ice Cream Boy from Expessions Crafts

Hi everyone, I'm on the Expressions Craft blog using Ice Cream Boy, which is such a cute stamp set.

I stamped the ice cream cone in black ink, then colored it with Memento Markers.  Then I fussy cut it for my project.

I mounted the ice cream cone on foam adhesives and offset it on oval die cuts then added it to a striped card.  Oh Yummy was tucked slightly underneath the cone.

Birthday Tags with Expressions Craft

Hi everyone, I'm on the Expression Crafts blog today with a set of tags.  I find tags to be small pieces of art that are fun to create.  Use tags on gift bags or cards.

I've used the Happy Bear stamp set which includes 3 different bears, a mini heart, a cupcake and separate sentiment.

I inked up this Birthday bear, coloring it with inks using an art dauber.

I used assorted Copic Markers to color in the second bear.

I used assorted scraps to create the tag and added the die cut elements.  Ribbons finished off the tags.

Best Wishes with Expressions Crafts

Hi everyone, I've got a new post on the Expressions Craft blog usingthe Wedding Wishes stamp set.  As we approach the wedding season, I like to get my cards ready in advance and this stamp set is perfect for creating a number of cards.

I wanted a gray and white card so I began by stamping the wedding couple in gray  ink on white cardstock.  Using Copic Markers, I lightly colored the couple adding pops of pink for color.

The image was then die cut.  Where the dress extended beyond the die, I cut around it so as not to cut it off.  The image was then matted with gray cardstock.

My card consists of some lovely papers that I adhered to a gray base before adhering to my card.  The sentiment is also from this stamp set and I simply matted it and added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

This is a wonderful stamp set that I will using for many upcoming weddings this year.

Thanks for stopping by.
