Christmas Story Book

It's a new challenge at Scor-Pal and we'd love to see your books this month.

Books can be fun to make and the Scor-Pal makes creating them easy.

First, select some chipboard to use as covers and paint them with Licorice Chalk it Up Paint from Earth Safe Finishes.  Chalk paint dries quickly so you have almost no down time when creating this book.

Create the spine of the book by cutting cardstock 4" x 6" and then scoring every 1/2".

Place Scor-Tape along both outside edges.  Then mountain and valley fold.

Adhere the chipboard covers to the spine.

Cut pattern papers to fit the front cover.

Cut black cardstock panels and adhere to the spine to create the pages.  Then cut assorted pattern papers to fit the cardstock panels.

 And my finished book.

Be sure to stop by the Scor-pal blog to see everyone's creations this month.  And enter your project in this month's challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Repurposing with Helmar Adhesives

Hi everyone, there is something special about repurposing a book don't you think?  Think about all those books that find their way into the trash - they can easily be repurposed into something fun, new and exciting.

I decided to turn one into a travel journal.

Helmar's Decoupage & Craft Medium was the perfect adhesive to use to be sure you have no wrinkles when you have completed the project.

Please stop by the Helmar blog for more details.

Flowers and Butterfly Box

It's a new year with new challenges at Scor-Pal.   This month's challenge is all about organization.  What can you create to help your organize your craft supplies (or anything else you desire).

I've created a cute box that can hold anything in my craft room.  But, I'm thinking it's a wonderful gift box - just fill it with candy or even some jewelry.  Think of the seasonal type boxes you can create.

Cut one piece of cardstock 6" x 10 1/2".
Place long edge on Scor-Pal and score at 3".
Rotate and score at 3" and 7 1/2".

To create the diagonal scores, line cardstock along one of the grooves and score the outer boxes.
Score 1" away from the first score line on one side as shown below.

Cut away the smallest triangles and the rectangular pieces at the opposite side.

Cut in along the score lines to the center score and fold on all score lines.
Add Score Tape and assemble.

Cut another piece of cardstock 7" x 10 1/2" and score at 3" and 7 1/2".
Rotate and score at 3" and 6" (the flap will be used to join the box).

Create the diagonal scores as noted above.

Cut in on the score lines.
Fold on all score lines and assemble with Score Tape.

Create 3 trays by cutting 3 pieces of cardstock each 5 3/8" x 5 3/8".
Score at 1 3/8" and 4 1/4".
Rotate and score at 1 3/8" and 4 1/4".
Cut in on all 4 corners and place Scor-Tape on the panels.
Form to create the trays.

Adhere the two sides of the box together by placing Scor-Tape on the flap and aligning the 2 pieces.

Adhere the trays in place using Score Tape to two sides of the box.

Cut pattern paper and additional cardstock to fit your box.

Decorate as desired.
I added ribbon around the box using die cut panels to secure the ribbon.
Butterflies were stamped, embossed and die cut, then added to the panels.

Please stop by the Scor-Pal blog and see everyone's projects.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Prickley Pear Reveal

This is today's post at the Prickley Pear.

This cardinal stamp with it's matching die is perfect for creating quick and fabulous cards.  I die cut the cardstock first, then stamped my image - perfect placement every time.  I colored the pinecones and the leaves using Zig Alcohol Markers.   The phrase was stamped on the background and the stamped image was placed above it with foam adhesives.

Don't forget to check out the awesome stamps in the store.

Spooky Banner

This is my posted project at Scrapbookpal today.

With Halloween just around the corner, it's not to early to start thinking about creating Halloween projects.  So pull out your supplies and create this Spooky Banner.  It's a perfect Halloween accent piece and can be created using any supplies on hand.  Grab some scraps and start creating.

Using the Sports Mania cartridge, I cut the banner pieces as follows using Blackout + Flag:
Bottom layer (Black cardstock) - 5 1/2"
Second layer (pattern paper) - 5"
Third layer (pattern paper) - 3 1/2"

Using the Happy Hauntings cartridge, I cut the Halloween icons at 3 1/2"
Witches Shoe
Black Cat
Ghost
Ghost + flip
Tombstone
Flying Witch

The smallest banner layer was inked with black ink before adhering the layers together.  Using a Martha Stewart punch, I created the top edge for each banner piece, cutting it to fit.  I love the drippy effect, don't you?

Using the Happy Hauntings Cartridge, I cut Halloween icons (without the layers) for each banner from black cardstock.  For the "O" I used the same ghost cut, but flipped the second one so they appear to be looking at each other.

The letters were cut from the Happy Hauntings cartridge at 2 1/2" from orange pattern paper which were then embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.  Black cardstock was used to create the shadow letters.

Once all the elements were adhered to each banner, I punched holes in each side of the banner and added brads.  In the two outer holes, I tied string so I could hang the banner.

Supplies:
Die cut: Cricut Expression
Cartridges: Happy Hauntings, Sports Mania
Cardstock: Bazzill
Pattern paper: K&Co.
Punch: Martha Stewart
Ink: Clearsnap
Embossing: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF

Trees Backgrounder Stamp: After creating a top folding card, I used the Trees Backgrounder Stamp for the interior of the card. I die cut a circle on the front of the card which allowed the trees to show through.

I added some small punched butterfles to the trees so they appear to be in flight.

Using my Cricut Expression, I die cut the sentiment and added it to the bottom of the card.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Pattern paper: K&Co
Stamp: Cornish Heritage Farms
Ink: Clearsnap
Punch: Kreaxions
Die cuts: Spellbinders
Sentiment: Cricut Expression

For my next card I used Time to Stamp from the Rummage Bin which is an amazing stamp set with clocks and sentiments.
I created my own background paper by stamping the clocks on cream cardstock with ColorBox Cocoa Ink. I stamped an additional clock which I then die cut. Using ColorBox Red Barn Chalk Ink, I stamped "Time" on top of the clock and then stamped the sentiment on another piece of cardstock. After wrapping ribbon around the card, I attached the clock to it.
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms Ink: Clearsnap Ribbon: Stash Your next stop is VICKI's BLOG and I know she has something wonderful to show you. Thanks for stopping by today.

Girl Scouts Mini Album

Check out my latest post at Scrappin Sports Stuff . I made this adorable Girl Scout mini album. This mini book was really fun to make and would be a perfect gift for the girl scout in your life or perhaps the scout leader. This K&Co. Girl Scout pad was the perfect choice because it has everything necessary to create this one of a kind mini album.

It was a little hard to choose the papers I wanted to work with because each pattern paper would have worked out beautifully. Once I decided which papers to use, I cut each page to fit my album, adding cardstock for the photo mats, and added titles and phrases.

Once completed, I punched holes in the edges and added the binder rings.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Bazzill, Cardstock Warehouse
Pattern Paper: K&Co.

You Make My Heart Smile

Today's post at JustImagine Crafts shows how I used punch # 903.

Using this punch along the bottom edge of a card really adds a nice impact. I just added a strip of black cardstock behind the punched design to help it stand out.

I then used the wonderful Circle Cutter to cut 2 circles upon which I added a beautiful K&Co. flower and leaf. The sentiment was placed under the circles.

Supplies:
Cardstock: DCWV, Bazzill
Ink: Clearsnap
Punch: Kreaxions
Die cuts: K&Co.
Stamp: Stampendous
