Timely Canvas with Paverpol

I have a new post on the Paverpol USA blog today entitled Time is Precious.

I created the background texture by dipping fabric in Paverpol.  Paverpol is a textile hardener  which can be mixed the fabric, paper, paper mache, clay, pottery and more.

Using Light Fleshtone Paverpol with my fabric, I draped it on my canvas and let it dry.  Because I wanted to add lots of color, I painted the dried canvas with gesso first.

After the canvas was completely dry, I sprayed assorted Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists over the panel, allowing some of the colors to mix and pool around the texture.

I wanted to use this amazing stamp, so I stamped it and added across the bottom of the canvas then I found some chipboard clock faces which I added to a large flower.

What do you think?

Keep Calm Upcycled Sign

Hi everyone, I am so tired of winter.  It's the middle of February and we just got another 12" of snow!!!!!  We have had our fill of snow so it's time to think spring with sunshine and flowers.

I began by sanding a wood sign with the Delta Sander.

Next I painted the sign with Plaid Folk Art Ultra Dye in Infra Red.  This dye brushes on smoothly and easily.

Once dry, I sanded it again to get a more rustic look.

Next I created a "vase" from an empty toilet roll, covering it in Transparent Paverpol.  Once dry, I painted it with Plaid Folk Art Milk Paint in Jamestown Blue.

Next, I used the Delta Jigsaw to clean up the edges of the "vase".

Finally, I added trim to the top and bottom of the "vase" and adhered it to the sign.

I created words from left over chipboard letters then randomly stamped flowers from Joy Clair Stamps  around the sign.

A butterfly created from Rinea Foil was added atop the vase.  Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists were sprayed over the sign to add a little shimmer as the finishing touch.

There is nothing better than seeing the flowers bloom and this sign is sure to remind me that spring is not far away.

Precious Memories Canvas

Hi everyone, I've got a new project on the Paverpol blog today using Pavercotton with Paverpol.

I love creating 3 dimensional backgrounds and Pavercotton dipped in Paverpol worked really well.  I just allowed it to dry then spritzed on assorted colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.

Paverpol Napkin Rings

Hi everyone, I've got a new post on the Paverpol blog today.

Using Transparent Paverpol, I created some festive Christmas napkin rings.  They were so much fun to create and look absolutely stunning.

I used a paper towel tube and covered it with Transparent Paverpol.  Once the Paverpol hardened, I removed the tube and cut it into 4 pieces with the help on the Proxxon Jig Saw.  I spritzed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist then added ribbon and pearls to finish them.

Please stop by the Paverpol blog for all the details.

The Color and Texture of Fall

Hi everyone, I have a new project on the Paverpol blog - a fall canvas.  I absolutely LOVE fall - the colors, the crunchy leaves, the cooler weather.  And I love my project.  I think it really epitomizes fall and all it stands for.

I used the Proxxon Hot Wire Cutter to cut a Smoothfoam ball in half.  Then used Paverpol Light Flesh Tone with fabric and wrap the fabric around one of the half balls.  Twist the fabric at the top and allow some fabric folding for dimension.  This created the pumpkin onto which I added more Paverpol with Pavercotton to add dimension.  Makin's Clay was added as swirls around the pumpkin.

I wrapped fabric around the 2nd Smoothfoam ball and smoothed it, then painted with red and green to create the apple.  Makin's Clay was created for the apple stem.

FALL was created using Makin's Clay clay and Alphabet Cutters and added to the corner with Beacon Adhesives.

Then I added assorted twigs, flowers, twine to finish and spritzed it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.
