Celebrate he has risen

Hi everyone, it's time for another share of Joy Clair Stamps.  Pop by the store, you will absolutely love their stamps.

Today, I'm working with He has Risen stamp set which is a set of 5 stamps that can be used for both Bible journaling as well card creations.

I stamped the cross on white cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers.  As I wanted to use this on an oval card, I die cut the image, cutting around the bottom of the cross.

To coordinate with the purple cloth, I created a purple card.  I added Celebrate on a tag across the bottom of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to stop by the Joy Clair store and check out their amazing stamps.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi everyone, this week's challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms is to create a Mother's Day card.

I used the Large Dots Backgrounder Stamp to create the light pattern on the cardstock.  I wanted a subtle pattern and this stamp was perfect.  Beautiful sparkling ribbon was tied around the panel before adhering it to the card.

The Sunflower digital image was colored with Copic Markers and then fussy cut and added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Be sure to stop by the team's blog to see what they've been creating.

Flowers and Butterfly Box

It's a new year with new challenges at Scor-Pal.   This month's challenge is all about organization.  What can you create to help your organize your craft supplies (or anything else you desire).

I've created a cute box that can hold anything in my craft room.  But, I'm thinking it's a wonderful gift box - just fill it with candy or even some jewelry.  Think of the seasonal type boxes you can create.

Cut one piece of cardstock 6" x 10 1/2".
Place long edge on Scor-Pal and score at 3".
Rotate and score at 3" and 7 1/2".

To create the diagonal scores, line cardstock along one of the grooves and score the outer boxes.
Score 1" away from the first score line on one side as shown below.

Cut away the smallest triangles and the rectangular pieces at the opposite side.

Cut in along the score lines to the center score and fold on all score lines.
Add Score Tape and assemble.

Cut another piece of cardstock 7" x 10 1/2" and score at 3" and 7 1/2".
Rotate and score at 3" and 6" (the flap will be used to join the box).

Create the diagonal scores as noted above.

Cut in on the score lines.
Fold on all score lines and assemble with Score Tape.

Create 3 trays by cutting 3 pieces of cardstock each 5 3/8" x 5 3/8".
Score at 1 3/8" and 4 1/4".
Rotate and score at 1 3/8" and 4 1/4".
Cut in on all 4 corners and place Scor-Tape on the panels.
Form to create the trays.

Adhere the two sides of the box together by placing Scor-Tape on the flap and aligning the 2 pieces.

Adhere the trays in place using Score Tape to two sides of the box.

Cut pattern paper and additional cardstock to fit your box.

Decorate as desired.
I added ribbon around the box using die cut panels to secure the ribbon.
Butterflies were stamped, embossed and die cut, then added to the panels.

Please stop by the Scor-Pal blog and see everyone's projects.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Birthday Gary

It's my husband's 59th birthday today.  Wow, how did we get so old!!!!!

I had to make him a birthday card, so I used Ann Butler's Flourish stamps from KellyCraft and the new inks and art screens from Clearsnap to create this quick and easy card masculine card.

I used the new Stars Art Screen with  the new Crafter's Ink in Deep Woods.   After inking brown cardstock with the art screen, I tore the right corner and matted it with an almost perfect shade of coordinating cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped with Deep Woods, then inked and matted before adding it to the card front with foam adhesives for dimension.

Needing a little "something" to finish my card, I stamped HB in Deep Woods and then fussy cut them.  With foam adhesives for dimension, the letters look great.

Now, I hope he likes it!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Tickled Pink with Susan K. Weckesser

Hi everyone.

I recently received some awesome Core-dinations cardstock called Tillie Dot Spotted.  I created a 5 1/2" square card and, using the Core-dinations sander, I lightly sanded the embossed dots.

I just love the Susan K. Weckesser pattern papers.  They are double sided beauties.  Using the Tickled Pink tag from the Live in Color collection, I die cut it into a heart, inking it with pink ink.   I matted it with Core-dinations cardstock and a scalloped layer from the Live in Color collection

I tied some pink May Arts Mesh ribbon around the card.

Wouldn't this be great to announce a new arrival?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Back to School Purse

Hi everyone  Scor-Pal is celebrating the upcoming school year with lots of fun back to school projects.

Today I'm sharing a project I think any girl would love to use for school.   Add a post it note pad inside with a pen or pencil and note taking is now a breeze.

Using a template I created, I cut the cardstock and the coordinating pattern paper.
Score 3 lines in the center of the cardstock and then mountain/valley fold.

Cut the pattern paper into 2 pieces.
Fussy cut the pattern paper so it is slightly smaller than the cardstock.
Adhere it to the cardstock.

Create the handles from a 12" x 1 3/4" piece of cardstock.
Score the length and fold in half.
Add Scor tape down the center and adhere together.

Add Scor tape along the back edge and add the handles to the purse.
Create a front panel and adhere it to the inside back on top of the handles.

Add pattern paper inside to cover the added panel.
Punch along the bottom edge for some visual interest.

Add a button to the flap and you are done.  Just adhere the post it note stack inside.

And another view.

I'm thinking this would be a fun gift for a teacher - I think she'd love it, don't you?

My Core'dinations Creative Frenzy

Core'dinations, a manufacturer or amazing color core cardstock is having a design team call.  It would be awesome to be a part of their team, so I'm submitting my application.  They have asked for 3 projects showing what can be done with Core'dinations cardstock, so here they are

Let It Snow Card
Supplies:
Cardstock:  Core'dinations
Stamps: Penny Black
Ink: Memento
Markers: Copic Markers
Embossing: Cuttlebug
Dies: Spellbinders
Other: Paper Tagger, Ribbon

I began by cutting cardstock to fit the card front, then cutting another piece slightly smaller to fit on top.  I embossed the smaller piece with a Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder.

Using the Core'dinations sanding block, I sanded the snowflakes so the under side (the blue) would show through.  Then I lightly distressed the edges for the same effect.  I also embossed a smaller piece of cardstock and lined up the snowflakes on top of the base.  The Penny Black image was stamped with Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers, then the oval circles were cut with Spellbinders dies.  A ribbon was tied around the card and the image was placed on top.  Foam adhesives were added for dimension.

To finish the card, a Penny Black sentiment was stamped and matted and then attached to the ribbon with a Paper Tagger.

Winter Card
Supplies:
Cardstock: Core'dinations
Digital Image: Cornish Heritage Farms
Markers: Copic Markers
Ink: Clearsnap, Ranger
Embossing: Sizzix
Scoring Tool:  Scor-pal
Dies: Spellbinders

For my second project, I used the Core'dinations Kraft Cardstock and Graphic45 Cardstock. I love the rich colors of each collection and the many ways you can use it. I chose to create a combination card/envelope.

The Kraft-Core cardstock is a combination of rich colors on one side and Kraft on the other. I used a sheet of the red Kraft-Core for the base of my card, cutting 2 pieces 5 1/2" x 11".  I then scored each piece at the 5 1/2" center point.  Lining up the center of each piece, I cut them on a diagonal to create the flaps.

Adhere the 2 pieces together on the square panel so that a card is formed.

Using the diagonal cuts, flip them over to use the Kraft side. Trim them to fit the flaps and then emboss with an embossing folder.   Since I was going with a winter woodland scene, I chose to emboss with a wood grain embossing folder.  Lightly ink the edges before adhering to the card.

Add a strip of red cardstock across the center of the card.  Print a digital image from Cornish Heritage Farms and color with Copic Markers. Using Spellbinders circle dies, die cut and lightly ink the image with Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink.   Cut a larger Spellbinders circle using the green cardstock from the Graphic 45 collection.

Cut a panel of green to fit inside the envelope and adhere a punched tab to the right corner.  Using the Scor-pal, score 3 lines each 1/4" apart along the bottom edge of the card to create a decorative finish.

I stamped a sentiment which was then die cut with Spellbinders circle dies in 2 sizes. After inking the edges, I placed it on the panel slightly above the final score line.  I did not want it to show above the stamped image on the front.

And the finished envelope and card.

Christmas Package
Cardstock: Core'dinations
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Embellishments: Robin's Nest
Twine: The Twinery

My next project is a small gift package using the Graphic 45 collection.  This cute package could be used for all kinds of small gifts for the holidays.  Think a teacher gift, a different type of wrap for a gift card, even a piece of jewelry.

Cut red cardstock 4" x 4" and score around every 1". Cut in on 4 sides and fold to create the bottom of the package.  Then add Scor-Tape around the entire piece as this will hold the package together.

Cut green cardstock 5 1/2" x 9" and mark the center of the bottom.  Using an  embossing folder, emboss the tree onto the cardstock (being sure to emboss at the center point), then use the Core'dinations Sanding Block to remove some of the color on the tree.

Gently fold this piece around the box.   At the back, where the paper overlaps, add some additional Scor-Tape and gently adhere the pieces together.

Cut a 1" x 9" strip of red cardstock and score in half. Once folded, add Scor-Tape to both sides and gently fold around the top of the box to finish off the top edge.

Punch 2 holes in the top and add twine to tie it shut.

Decorate the tree with assortment embellishments.  I used  Dew Drops from the Robin's Nest to decorate my tree.

This is just a sampling of the projects I have created wtih Core'dinations cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today.
