Don’t be dragged away Below Nameless hurricanes To come Into dead estates Down the door Billions blameless Trapped, hegemonic, debasement Electrical satellites Echoes within Don’t eat up wonder drugs In the Heaven full of fun To come Down those stolen doors past Vines within Billions blameless Facts, epistemic, containment Electrical satellites Echoes within So alike All stories fake This story is fake too But it matters what you do All stories fake Don’t be glad nor dragged away Under Nameless hurricanes Bound to come Into dead estates Right down the door Billions, blameless Cush, catastrophic, contagious Electrical satellites Echoes within So alike All stories fake This story is fake too But it matters what you do All stories fake Yet ringing through with certitude It matters what you do What you do

The dreams of kings Stabbing at throats The weight of high position Through treasonous eyes Loyalties mean Bare, begging, frantic, it’s not me The bonds of honor do As often the deed That shouldn’t be done Below the sun Spreading a trench Muscle raw and shaking No reverence held Calloused machines Matchstick jungles constantly The bonds of honor do As often the deed That shouldn’t be done And bad traditions, oppressed, as victims Get a sympathetic light Announce the news There’s nothing to do In suits, confused Kids buying them out Of things that could cost nothing Is hard as hell And loads to know Unending hours huff gaslit ghosts And still the bonds of honor do As often the deed That shouldn’t be done And bad traditions, oppressed, as victims Get a sympathetic light Announce the news There’s nothing to do

November falls In faithful sequence, always Make to bluff the slips away The daily bouts Compound in sequence, every Worried face so wronged will be Never an hour goes by, he said Before my mind is somewhere else Falling for some new drug Hospitals, police Please release him, at last, to his better days Compulsive calls Oh no, it’s never like that He will say such things removed December crow A bland and blinking modem Proof of ways to soldier through Never an hour goes by, he said Before my mind is somewhere else Falling for some new drug Hospitals, police Please release him, at last, to his better days Please release him, at last Another scene His face held still by floorboards Tee-shirt stains and stunned relief Never an hour goes by, he said Before my mind is somewhere else Falling for some new drug Hospitals, police Please release him, at last, to his better days Please release him, at last

And What 04:30
On trees reshaped as ships With seeds and steel within As Gods or acts of God And what Egos in despair fill suits everywhere Dreamers on the seats hands high in the air Toward the eons coming To reckless winners Long lost From human cargo holds Horizons dropped away Gains interest still today And what Egos in despair fill suits everywhere Dreamers on the seats hands high in the air Toward the eons coming To reckless winners Long lost I was in despair and I didn’t care We were on our seats hands high in the air Toward the eons coming Toward the eons coming As debts on debt regress So gamed the least of life With striving all the time And what And on and on and on

Fade home through the door from work Man greets episodic lifeless hand Foundation to an inch and a half of leaning ash Blanketing the box through which what's chosen what to see Switch to 36 and the ashes fall All so traditional Camera crawls up the arm to the face Zoom in slow with the sharpest focus But what can we see inside Camera crawls up the arm to the face What...what can we see inside Distant, safe distance Distant, safe from all that I'm fed The broken bed, the troubled head The light sleep, the feathered, the dream Out of my reach, out of my reach Factory eaten daylight Ten hours welcomed home by the glow light (Out of my reach) Rendered safe from all that I'm fed

Ama Nesciri 01:58
Love to not be known Ama Nesciri To sting lets the pain be felt Martyr of... To sing lets the heart be seen Ama Nesciri To fold then see it all unfold Rippling, banding Fold before the fugoid state Non-linear A chance to forget, a choice to hate The void's the one that takes It's cold, if truth be told Ama Nesciri Love to not be known Rippling, banding Ever you in the fugoid state Point blind to blame A chance to progress, a choice to fail First, last thought, same I get it now I get it now Move on somehow I get it now Move on somehow I'm dead for now

In cosmic glow Untethered bodies Ever gravitating The primate call Simulcasted Binds the world in an echo Jaw to jaw Piled ten deep A raft of ants rushing past Flood to flood Lives between Careen aground they may pray On thoughtless doubts With fearful egos Set for self-immolation And nervous frowns Guilty feelings Souls as stars in the ether Jaw to jaw Piled ten deep A raft of ants rushing past Flood to flood Lives between Careen aground they may pray No stateless lands And repetition Daily beats out a rhythm Just cosmic glow Untethered bodies Ever gravitating

Ill At Ease 04:09
There’s no water to drink here That won’t addle your mind Won’t get money or op-eds Where no in-groups align Sitting down with the demons Seeming scarcely aware Of the hell they’ve created Or the size of their share Goodbye goodbye goodbye redaction In time laid deep by disease Goodbye goodbye goodbye distraction Focus in ill at ease Joyless journeys to Costco You have children to feed You lack money for something Or they don’t sell what you need Daily driven to anger Brandish what you believe Everyone with their somethings They’re passing out in the street Goodbye goodbye goodbye redaction In time laid deep by disease Goodbye goodbye goodbye distraction Focus in ill at ease Is ever ready to die here? Now ever new to be born? Fever dream in a quarantine Wide awake from the storm

Entropy Atrophy Entropy Atrophy Bedding down with disaster Only peace that can be Self-protection and witness in this This in which I subscribe Subscribe (blindness is 20/20) Subscribe (blindness is…) Blindness is 20/20 This is for you Ever here ever lonely Ever lonely Bite patterns real enough Barricaded with fantasy Ever here ever lonely This is for you Deprived (kindness feels kinda funny) Deprived (kindness feels…) Kindness feels kinda funny (match the rhythm of “Blindness is 20/20" - one note) This ain’t for you (hit note) Ever here ever solely Surviving a story real enough Barricaded in boundary Ever here ever solely (a world between here and home) This is for you (nowhere) Sometimes I forget there’s a world between here and home Where here is nowhere and home is… Entropy Atrophy Entropy Atrophy Ever here ever coldly Disconsolate A story’s real enough Barricaded with fantasy Ever here ever coldly (ghost of dignity comfortless) Voluntary confinement Disconsolate indeed A ghost of dignity, comfortless Wishes wanted away Decline (entropy atrophy) Decline (atrophy…) Entropy, atrophy This is for you Entropy Atrophy Entropy Atrophy Wishing I wanted the things I used to want The things I do no longer become memories

god's gift a rudderless will for sputtering answers and swill spit confused expectations attached could ever last trawling tines bite, divide your nights from day from night from days searching like dogs in remains slow-motioned and frantic and played out one time keeps on dreaming by chance could ever last trawling tines bite, divide your nights from day from night from days their tremors ply red hearts survive or convulse in the trees or popping blue face forward pills more upping of downing refill them framed artlessly brained in a trance could ever last trawling tines bite, divide your nights from day from night from days their tremors ply red hearts survive or convulse in the trees red hearts survive or convulse in the trees face trawling tines face trawling tines face trawling tines and bravely stay

about

Still Machine does the work for you. With their latest effort, Echoes Within, the Chicago-based trio fearlessly confronts the universal but often unshared emotions of the inter- and intrapersonal in a world going mad. It’s an album that doesn’t let its audience off the hook, yet it offers a path to catharsis, a sonic therapy session for the unspoken. The record’s title captures its essence—the contemplative melodies and simple, lush arrangements delve inward, exploring those feelings that remain as a psychic reverberation for the listener.

The band—Ray Dybzinski (vocals, guitar), Jason Goldberg (bass, keys, backing vocals), and Matt Martin (drums, percussion, backing vocals, keys)—are veterans, their collective history spanning multiple epochs and genres. From Beak to World Leader Pretend and The Timeout Drawer, their resumes are long, evidence of lives engulfed in music. While honing their chops in earlier projects, members of the group have shared stages with marquee acts like R.E.M., Killing Joke, The National, and Fugazi, an index to their versatility and deep-seated roots in post-punk, indie rock, and beyond.
