Record the screen on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

In Control Centre, you can start a screen recording and capture sound on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

How to record your screen

  1. Swipe down from the top right-hand corner of your screen.

  2. Tap the grey Record buttongrey record icon, then wait for the three-second countdown. If you can’t see the Record button, add it to your Control Centre.

  3. Exit Control Centre to record your screen.

  4. To stop recording, tap the Screen Recording buttonNo alt supplied for Image at the top of your screen, then tap the Stop buttonNo alt supplied for Image. Or open Control Centre and tap the red Record button red record icon.

To find your recording, open the Photos app and select your screen recording in your Library.

Some apps may not allow you to record audio or video. You can’t record your screen and use screen mirroring at the same time.

Record your screen with audio

  1. Swipe down from the top right-hand corner of your screen.

  2. Tap and hold the grey Record button. If you can’t see the Record button, add it to your Control Centre.

  3. Tap the Microphone button to turn it on.

  4. Tap the grey Record button, then wait for the three-second countdown.

  5. Exit Control Centre to record your screen.

  6. To stop recording, tap the Screen Recording button at the top of your screen, then tap the Stop button. Or open Control Centre and tap the red Record button.
