How to clean your nano-texture Apple display

Learn how to clean dust and smudges from your nano-texture display.

Find out which devices have a nano-texture display

iPhone Duo comes with a nano-texture cover layer on the inner display. These devices can have a nano-texture display as an option:

• Apple Studio Display

• Apple Pro Display XDR

• iMac

• MacBook Pro

• iPad Pro (M4)

Clean the nano-texture display

The nano-texture display differs for each Apple product, but the cleaning methods are the same. You can remove dust or smudges from the nano-texture display with any of these:

• A clean Apple Polishing Cloth

• A different microfibre cloth made for electronic displays

• A fabric made from a blend of cotton and Elastane or SPANDEX.

While some Apple products come with a microfibre polishing cloth, you can also buy an Apple Polishing Cloth or a third-party microfibre polishing cloth.

For infrequent cleaning of hard-to-remove smudges, you can moisten the cloth with a 70 per cent isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution.

Clean your polishing cloth

1. Hand-wash your polishing cloth with washing-up liquid and water.

2. Rinse thoroughly.

3. Allow the polishing cloth to air-dry for at least 24 hours.
