- share Gems with other people in your organization
- use Gems that have been shared with them
A Gem is a customized version of Gemini that helps you tackle repetitive tasks or get deep expertise in new areas. When you chat with a Gem, Gemini will tailor responses to save time on repeat goals and guidelines in your Gemini web app and Gemini mobile app prompts. Learn more about Gems.
Shared Gems are stored and shared in Google Drive, so the sharing settings for Drive also apply to Gems. This means if you allow people in your organization to share documents outside your organization, they can also share Gems outside your organization. Learn how to manage external sharing for your organization.
Turn Gem sharing on or off
Important: If you turn this setting off, Gems will no longer be shareable from the Gemini app. However, previously shared Gems will still be accessible and shareable from within Drive.
