Premade Gems offer help for a range of topics, from brainstorming and coding to career coaching.
To get started with a premade Gem:
- On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
- On the left, click Explore Gems.
- Under “Premade by Google,” select the Gem you want to try out.
- Enter your prompt.
- Click Submit

Tip: Premade Gems already have instructions for the specific topic you select. When you provide a simple prompt, Gemini may ask follow up questions to further customize the response.
Customize a premade Gem

You can copy some premade Gems as a starting point and customize it for your specific needs.
- On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
- On the left, click Explore Gems.
- Under “Premade by Google,” find the Gem you want to customize and click Make a copy
.
- Edit the Gem’s name.
- Review and edit the Gem’s instructions to better fit your needs.
- Click Save.

- Copy the Career guide Gem and add details about your unique skills or career goals.
- Copy the Writing editor Gem and add a specific writing style guide, like AP or MLA style, for the Gem to follow.
- Copy the Brainstormer Gem and add info about your brainstorming goals, like an audience age range for story ideas or a decade for party theme ideas.
Tip: Not all premade Gems can be customized. If you don't have the "Make a copy" option, the Gem can't be copied or customized.
