Find your places & lists in the You tab

Learn how to find your personal content in Google Maps, such as:
  • Your lists and lists you follow
  • Labeled places
  • Your recently saved places
  • Your nearby saved places
  • Your Timeline of visited places
  • My Maps
  • Reservations from Gmail and Calendar

Search & save Your places in Google Maps

In the “You” tab, under "Your recent places," you can find places you recently searched for, got directions to, viewed, or saved. You can search and filter the list to:

  • Find specific places
  • Add places to saved lists
  • Share places with others

Tip: To get the most out of this feature, turn on Web and App Activity so you find places you've recently searched for, gotten directions to, and viewed alongside your saved places. Learn how to find and control your Web and App Activity.

Search through Your places
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap You Save place and then See all.
  3. Under “Your places,” at the top left, tap Search Search.
  4. Enter the name of the place you want to search for or the personal note you added to it.
  5. From the search results, select the best match.
Filter Your places
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap You Save place and then See all.
  3. Under “Your places,” at the top, select the filters you want to apply.
  4. Select filter options from the filter menu.
  5. Tap Apply.
Save Your places to a list
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap You Save place and then See all.
  3. Touch and hold the place you’d like to select.
    • To select other places, tick the check box beside them.
    • To select all places, tap Select all.
  4. Tap Save.
  5. Select an existing list or create a new one.
    • To create a new list, tap New list Plus.
  6. Tap Done.
Share Your places with others
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap You Save place and then See all.
  3. Touch and hold the place you’d like to select.
    • To select other places, tick the check box beside them.
    • To select all places, tap Select all.
  4. Tap Share.
  5. Choose your app.
Manage Maps history & find recently visited places
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap You Save place and then See all.
  3. Next to the place you want to manage, tap More More.
  4. Choose an option:
    • To remove the history for that place: Tap Delete Maps history and then Delete.
    • To review that place’s visit history: Tap See visits & Maps history.

Find saved places

Important: The content in the You tab depends on your activity on Google Maps.

Recently saved

Find places you’ve saved within the last few months. If you haven’t saved any places in the last 180 days, “Recently saved” will be unavailable.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. At the bottom of your screen, tap You Save place.
  3. You can scroll through “Recently saved” to find places you have recently added to your lists.
  4. Tap a place for more details and its location on the map.
  5. Tap the list name to jump directly to the list.

Nearby saved

Find nearby places that you’ve saved. If your saved places aren’t within 25km (about 16mi), “Nearby saved” will be unavailable.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. At the bottom of your screen, tap You Save place.
  3. You can scroll through the “Nearby saved” cards to find nearby places that you have added to your lists.
  4. Tap a place for more details and its location on the map.
  5. Tap the list name to jump directly to the list.

Visited

If you have Timeline turned on, you’ll get quick access to your Timeline of visited places and activities.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. At the bottom of your screen, tap You Save place.
  3. Scroll down to find links to your Timeline.

Under “Visited”, you can find the following information: Yesterday, Places, Cities, and Countries/Regions you have visited. Tap any of them for more detailed information in Timeline.

Your lists

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. At the bottom of your screen, tap You Save place.
  3. Scroll down to find your lists. You’ll also find lists you follow.
  4. Tap New list to create a new list.

Reservations

If you have Web & App Activity turned on, you can check the Saved tab for details about upcoming events like flights, restaurant reservations, or hotel bookings.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. At the bottom of your screen, tap You Save place.
  3. Scroll down and tap Reservations.

Following

You can view and manage all the places that you follow.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. At the bottom of your screen, tap You Save place.
  3. Scroll down and tap Following.

Maps

Find a list of maps you’ve saved or created on My Maps.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. At the bottom of your screen, tap You Save place.
  3. Below your list, tap Maps.
