What is an integrated ecommerce platform?
An ecommerce platform is a hosted online service that has tools that allow retailers to create an online store. Ecommerce platforms may have other features, but their ability to create a store is what defines them. Some YouTube creators start and host their store with ecommerce platforms. Typically, the creator or retailer is responsible for managing their store, including but not limited to:
- Products
- Procurement
- Fulfillment
- Shipping
YouTube Shopping has integrations with some ecommerce platforms to make it easier for creators with stores to link the store to their YouTube channel. The integration allows creators and brands to display products from their ecommerce store on YouTube Shopping features. You can view examples of how YouTube Shopping features surface across YouTube here.
