Learn about Ask Studio in YouTube Studio

Ask Studio is an AI creative partner integrated into YouTube Studio that helps you summarize comments and feedback from your videos, understand your video channel stats, and brainstorm ideas and outlines for your next videos.

Eligibility

Ask Studio is currently in the experimental phase and is available in English to most YouTube creators in the United States. It is available only on web browsers on your computer. If you don’t see Ask Studio in the top corner within YouTube Studio, that means that you don’t have access to the feature.

Note: Responses provided by Ask Studio do not reflect YouTube’s views. Quality and accuracy of responses may vary. Use discretion when using Ask Studio and do not rely on it for professional advice, including medical, legal, or financial advice.

Get started with Ask Studio

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio or access Ask Studio directly to get started.
  2. On the top right corner of the page, tap Ask Studio .
  3. Select one of the suggested prompts, or type your own question.
Note: You can also use Ask Studio in the Analytics page . Select from one of the suggested prompts to dive deeper into your channel metrics.

Best practice for using Ask Studio

  • Begin with a clear objective: Think about what you want to achieve. Are you looking for insights on your community or to understand your latest video’s analytics better?
  • Be specific with your questions: The more precise your prompts, the better the AI can tailor its responses. For example, instead of "tell me about my channel," try "What are the common themes in comments on my recent video about [topic]?" or "How did my [video title] perform recently?".
    • Note: You can add any video by typing or clicking on the Add in the chat box.
  • Try utilizing the suggested prompts: You may use pre-defined options like "Summarize comments” as a starting point, and then refine your question based on those. You can also use the built-in guide “How can Ask Studio help me?”.
  • Experiment: You can try different phrasing or follow-up questions if the initial response isn't exactly what you're looking for.

How data is collected and used

This data will be used to develop and improve the product experience. This data will not be used to train the underlying generative machine-learning models that powers this product. To help with quality and improve Ask Studio human reviewers may read and process your conversations. We take steps to protect your privacy as part of this process. These steps include disconnecting your conversations from your Google Account before reviewers see them. We also use automated tools to help recognize and remove personal information, like email addresses and phone numbers. Tailored answers

While Ask Studio aims to provide the most tailored answers, in cases where specific context required to answer your question is unavailable, it will either provide a more general response from resources like the YouTube Help Center or state that it cannot answer. We are constantly working to expand Ask Studio’s knowledge to cover more of your questions in the future.

My specific channel and videos

Ask Studio works with your YouTube Studio channel and only uses data from your channel and audience. Other creators can't ask questions about your channel through Ask Studio.

Other topics

Certain questions might require context or capabilities that Ask Studio currently does not yet have. In these cases you may get a response “I can’t help with that” reply.

How long will I be able to access my Ask Studio chat history?

Your chat history is temporary. It will disappear if you close YouTube Studio, refresh the page or clear the history through the option available in the 3-dot menu. If you stay within Studio, your chat history will remain visible for that session.
