To call Corvus Corone funeral doom is an injustice. This isn’t *just* funeral doom; it’s not even just epic funeral doom. There are so many more elements to it than that that. It’s definitely epic, but there are elements of post-rock and post-doom (among others) that make this album an incredibly dynamic experience. Hints of Stoner/Doom from the Before Times, back when Neurosis and Sunn 0))) and Boris were fresh and exciting. The joy here is they don't overstay their welcome, no indulgently repetitious 14 minute tracks. It's like lo Fi beats to study to, but for metalgeads. Truly a great soundtrack to anything you do.
