Tag Book

Today I'm sharing with you a tag book I've created for an English colleague returning to the UK.

close up of front cover

I added lots of travel and kiwi details.  Inside I've decorated the tags by sponging with Distress Inks, stencils and sparkly watercolour paints.

I left enough room for people to leave their farewell wishes, and I included a few photos of his time with us; everyone loved it.

Steampunk cover

Well I'm sorry everyone, I've been pretty blogging absent this last month or so- it's just such a busy time. I've been working on 2 scrapbooks as leaving gifts for 2 of my kids teachers.
So I've been crafting but it's been secret squirrel ;-)
Both books are now happily in the hands of the teachers.

Today I'm sharing the front cover of one of the books.
This is for a guy- so I've gone a little steampunk- love how it turned out <3

Have a great pre Christmas Happy time :-)

Stencil Arty Magic

Here we go with a new theme at Craft Room Challenge, and it's the first with our two new Teamies Amber and Annie :-)
We have a great theme this fortnight, that Esther has chosen " Stencils and Masks", there's so much scope with this, and I can't wait to see all your creations.

These two pages are forming part of a special project I'm working on at the moment they will have photos added at some point ;-)
I've used two of the new stencils from Tim Holtz and sponged with Dried Marigold,  Squeezed Lemonade and Fired Brick. I've also used Picket Fence Distress Ink, added some tissue tape and stamped a couple of stamps. Keeping it simple.

Summer's nearly Here?

Well, at least it is for my Northern Hemisphere friends, it sounds like Summer is upon you :-)
Here we are slowly moving into Winter on the whole it's been mild so far, but our Summer holiday seems like a dream now.

Maria has chosen our  theme this fortnight at Craft Room Challenge : Summer's Nearly Here or Summer's on it's way!
Our sponsor this week is Liz Welch of RareBird, Friendly Plastic fame, who's given us another great pack of this fun stuff to our winner.

I have a big stack of photos that I want to scrap of  our Summer Holiday, in January we walked the Queen Charlotte Track, it has to be one of the most stunning places in the world. So this theme even though I'm in my winter clothes, gave me the kick start I needed to do the first Layout.

It's a 12 x 12 layout, I used the new Prima Engraver papers, they are versatile and yummy! Not masses of fussy details, cause I wanted the photos to do the talking, but I did stamp some of the images from Stampers Anonymous Tiny Things stamp set in black Archival ink, and then fussy cut them out, and attached them with foam tape. I also added some Prima Engraver Fabric and Washi tape, gotta love that stuff, for quick easy detailing. (all supplies from Art of Craft).

Please check out the Dt's work at the Craft Room, cause they're really diverse this week :-)
Have a great week.

Make your own Embellishments!

I really do leave it too long between scrapbook layouts, it really is my first love.  So when my Design Team mate at Craft Room Challenge, Maria chose the theme Make your own embellishments- it had to be a Layout ;)

This is a 12 x 12 layout of an old photo I've been meaning to do for a long time. We don't know who she is, but she has the family nose, so we're pretty sure she's a relation, going from her dress this photo probably dates from about 1875.

Our sponsor this week is Liz Welch with a Friendly Plastic prize pack of the fun stuff.
Make sure you check out the other Dt work as it's as stunning as usual.

Details:

Patterned paper is from SU, as are the stamps. Lace and ribbon is SU with some old lace from Grandma's Stash. My handmade embellishments are the Tulle Crumb Cake colour flower and the ephemera Perfume bottle labels are from Gecko Galz.

I'm entering this layout over at Just Add Ink Scrapbook Challenge, where they want to see lace and ephemera- just up my street :-)

have a great week everyone

Ooh La La

Wow!! you did us proud with all your entries in our Diecut and Punch Challenge! So many amazing creations.

This next Craft Room challenge has been chosen by me :-) I've asked the team to go all Francais avec moi. My school French is fairly limited :-) I currently have a French Colleague at work so my School French has been getting a little work out, and that's partly why I chose a French Theme. I think most of us love that effortless elegant chic French look.

We're sponsored by Stamp Addicts who have such a lovely range of stamps.

I've done a scrapbook 12 x 12 page for my French theme piece.

Make sure you pop over and see the rest of the amazing DT Creations, they are all Ooh La La :-)

Challenges:

I'm entering this layout into Simon Says Stamp and Show where they want to see our heart.

1973

We had some lovely and varied pieces for our Collage Challenge at Craft Room Challenge. For our next challenge the lovely talented Maria has chosen the theme of Childhood Memories, with the request that our piece contains some real inspiration from our memories and that it contains some stamping (no digis for this challenge please).

For me it had to be a scrapbook page, this photo was taken of me in 1973, it's a fav of my parents, it was taken in Newquay, UK.

I'm pleased how it's turned out- it's busy but there's space too.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Tando Creative

Don't forget to check out the other DT creations.

Charms or Pins

We had some lovely entries for our Fashion theme, Hazel's going to have a great time choosing her Top 3 :-)
For our next challenge Nikki's chosen Charms or Pins, and we're being sponsored by Crafty Individuals

I've created another 12 x 12 scrapbook page of my ancestors- I'm very lucky to have all these old family photos- I've barely scratched the surface in scrapbooking these- remember though always scan and reprint these precious photos, I would never use the original.

I've used Graphic 45 Papers, and added more interest by embossing

Friendship Challenge

It's time for another challenge at Craft Room Challenge, and we have a great prize for this challenge offered by Crafty Individuals.

This gorgeous heart set.

The theme of this challenge is Friendship. I've made an 8 x 8 Layout. I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock and went from there, sponging, masking, stamping and spritzing :-) This page is a sneek peek part of a special book I'm making for  a special lady, still a few days until she sees it- so shhhhhh :-)

I'll be showing more pages over the next few weeks.

Ronan!

My mom loves!!!! Ronan Keating, so when I heard he was playing in Wellington I knew I had to take her. She had a great time, hard to get a photo but it's all about memories in this case rather than a great photo. Here's my page- it's a 12 x 12.
This is my page for the new scrapbook challenge at Crafters Anonymous and also my February page for Let's Scrap 2012.

I hope you all have a great week.

Angel Star

Tonight at Tia's first class of the year she showed us how to make these cool decor scrapbook hearts.
I couldn't decide what photos to put on mine, so I used some angel images and turned it into a kind of angel dream catcher.

Have a great week.
