The family dog mine

Here for the digging out -- looks to be about a 3 and a 5 carrot dog gem.

This is Gurty laying by my side. This is my favorite when I wake up and she is laying like a human, right next to me with her head on the pillow. Sometimes side by side, sometimes back to back -- sometimes just her head is sticking out -- it is very funny.

Crazy is as crazy dogs

I really am a cool mom!

Some of you may have seen Lizzie's fish room, well she wanted a change and she got one.

The other night?

She missed the dang fish! Her little friends were gone. The other day she had gotten a book at the book fair 'DOGERELLA' -- I told her I would paint the dog next to her bed so she'd have a new friend (after my speech about change flopped. She said, 'I'm just a kid and I don't get all that stuff you said -- I just miss my fish').
I'm so happy with how it turned out, more importantly -- so was Lizzie...and Winnie. Now Winnie wants one too -- wish me luck, the magic doesn't always strike twice.

And for those of you who need a Frances (with the bear) and Gurty (in the sun) fix -- for you.

in answer to kay's question

Like Frick and Frack, peas in a pod, mac and cheese.
It's brining much joy to the house -- the adorable meter has exploded.
One very funny thing is that Frances walks right under Gurty.

Frances

You know what they say about small packages.

For certain.

The one with the sleepy head girls -- that was the first morning with Frances and let's just say, Santa has nothing on puppies.

TTQ loves me

Not only did TTQ burn a fantastic CD for me, but she sent goodies! Lots and lots of goodies.

When my girls saw all of the crown stickers and the many wrapped treats, they asked if TTQ was a real princess. She is.

What more could a person need if they have mojo, Everglade seasoning and bling?

Cookies? Okay, some of those too then. And meaningful bracelets, an inspiring necklace, a sparkle pen, and many other things with a high shimmer factor.

Gurty is suspicious. TTQ has dogs and Gurty thinks the package is from them. She wants to know what they mean by sending their scent into her domain. I tell her it's all good, but look at that face -- I don't think she's buying it.

She's plotting revenge as we type and read...hmmmm.

This is not Gurty

This is Frances and she is in Kansas -- we are thinking of adopting her. She is pug/min pin instead of pug/rat terrier, but she looks an awful lot like my diva dog.

I've talked at length with the humane society that currently has her and her siblings because I want to know just how much of the min pin temperament is shining through.

A sparky dog, yes. A tireless barker? No thanks.

The lady pretty much described Gurty when talking about her sweetness and play to rest ratio. But she is still a pup, so that rest part could be temporary...

One of our employees has a min pin/ chihuahua mix and she is very sweet and not at all high strung. Frances is near my in-laws, so I think we are going to send in the team to investigate.

Maybe she will let Rich hold her like a baby like our friends dog will (unlike Gurty, who fights it with all ten pounds of her might).

rock lobster

I am the chef who's going to cook that lobster dog.
Lizzie suggested I make a pat of butter out of felt and velcro it to the lobster.
Hmmm, crafty and funny -- I must be doing something right.
That last picture of Gurty?
She's belting out some Dio -- hence the title of this post.

Gurty is fired

See that bank of windows and the TP on the bushes, right outside of the windows? This entire display is just outside of my bedroom.

Obviously, not a quick hit and run -- they were out there (mere feet from nothing but windows and clear glass patio doors) taking the time to lay out "HI FRANKIE!" in toilet paper.

Where was Gurty? Aren't little dogs supposed to bark at everything? Give you a little heads up on vandals and other suspicious stirrings?

If you are a cute 8 year old neighbor kid, who comes to our house almost daily, maybe then you experience the wrath of Gurt (must be the braids). Heaven forbid a chipmunk make a move anywhere within a 20 mile radius of our home -- she whimpers and vibrates with instinctual urge. But hey, if you are a couple few teenage boys, pitching TP rolls over the trees, right outside the window -- why lift your head from your little doggy pillow for that?

Look at her on her pile of warm laundry. She doesn't deserve it -- I'm going to start folding direct from the dryer -- she doesn't even look guilty or ashamed, she kind of looks bothered, like, what am I taking her picture again? Am I wrecking your Zen my little Gurtlet?

Too bad.

FIRED!
