Summer Uploads

Well... not much has happened.
We had lots of plans scheduled for this summer and we seemed to have cancelled everything.
We planned on Camping at Strawberry, Hiking rim to rim of the Grand Canyon,
Stay-cation in Scottsdale, a week in Coronado, possible trip up to UT,
a week at the beach in Newport, just to name a few.
Life has just been filled with lots of unexpected twists and turns,
so we have stayed put for the most part.

But... the kids have been doing well entertaining themselves.
(Having technical difficulties and am not interested in fixing it so you get super gigantic pictures.)

1. Sprinklers Galore

2. Temperatures rising

3. Cars2 as a family

4. It was the awesomest.

5. Having a moment at the Sonic drive-thru
6. It's so HOT!

7. This was the day we lost power for 5 hours! Madison & Jason had to get creative with the entertainment.
(Did I mention it's been hot?)

8. There's nothing like a Rainbow to make you feel LOVED.

9. Sizzling!

10. We love water!

11. I'm so gonna get Mother of the Year. Baby Midget does NOT like to wear clothes!

12. Our first Encounter with a Haboob (My Granddaddy used to say "Good Night")

13. I'll admit I was frightened.

14. Back to school shopping with my soon to be 1st grader.

15. Hit this beast up too many times to count!

16. Cori and her Kaleidoscope

17. Weaving Loom

18.You know it! I'm the saddest that it is over. I wore black to church the next day.
Oh Harry, you will be missed.

19. Jason's Hand out from Church has brighten my day several times this month.

20. Tooth fairy came again. Jared keeping a promise even when he came home late from work. Nothing like buying treats an hour past bed time.

21. I'm gonna get as many of these as I can get before he gets to cool for me!

22. She is such an Angel when she sleeps. Even if she has Jon Bon Jovi hair.

23. WORD!

24. This made me laugh. Especially after a recent conversation. It's so true.

25. Ooooo... this boy is YUMMY!

26. I love it when we get to church and I look down and see that the baby midget has no shoes on!

27. Tried some sock curls one night. They were in for about 5 min before she made me take them out.
Super bummed cause even after 5 min the curls were so cute.
Next time I will use smaller or thinner socks so she can sleep more comfortable.

28. Count down to School starting. I've got some excited kids. (And I'm one excited parent)

29. Teaching Lou sign language

30. Helping me get through the days...

31. Impromptu sewing. I really, really, really wish I had more time to do this.
There is nothing better than creating something out of nothing.
32. Snuggle Buddies

33. Madison helping the kids make Tie-dyed shirts. I love Madison!

34. This baby is so silly!
35. Jared text this to me last night while I was at class. Love my kids!

The kids and I leave today for the River for 2 whole weeks!
I. AM. BEYOND. EXCITED.
Really missing my family right now.
We get back just a few days before school starts and hopefully after that I will be a more consistent blogger.
Holla!!!

Swim Team 2011

The kids had their last Swim Team today.
I think they had a great time. Looking forward to many summers of this.
So glad I have such great little swimmers!

Here are their team pics.
I was obviously out of town. Hahahaha!

America Day

We had a great 4th this year.
We had a blast playing with our neighbors at a waffle breakfast.
The kids played with new neighbors.
And Jared and I were able to sneak away to see Transformers.
(Apparently there was a #2 Transformers that I did not see)
We even got a little show from the kids.
We ended the night in a grassy field blowing up stuff and
watched a firework show from a local Church.
The kids had lots of fun.

Love my American Midgets!

La Jolla... HOLLA!

Last Month, I was in need of a little R&R, so I made my friends go to CA with me.
It was just what I needed. I had so much fun! I have some fun friends!

making friends try Sushi for the first time.

I really need to NOT do that with my face.

LOVE.

Went to the semi-annual VS sale one too many times.

Hit up Tai Pan in Costa Mesa, CA.

Hit up Baja Fish Tacos in Laguna Nigel.

Did way too much Shopping!

Ate everything in sight.

and Brockton Villa... Oh how I LOVE thee...
Oh My Coast Toast! Best FOOD ever!
We went 4 times!
Because I'm all about promoting delicious food, hit this place up...
The Brockton Villa Restaurant
1235 Coast Blvd.
La Jolla, CA

And because I'm UBER nice, here is their delicious Coast Toast Recipe...
Coast Toast
1 loaf Soft French bread (sliced diagonally, about 1 1/2" thick)
1 qt. whipping cream (I KNOW!)
10 eggs
3/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup sugar
a pinch of salt
2 TBS. vanilla
2 TBS. orange flavoring

Combine liquid ingredients. Pour over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour. Remove bread and discard liquid. Spread butter on flat grill. Cook bread until golden brown, then bake at 450* for 5-7 min or until bread is puffed up like a souffle. Dust with powdered sugar. Serve IMMEDIATELY! (serves 6)

You will Thank me. It's like Heaven on a plate!

Had a blast with my friends. Just what I needed!
and that's what's up!
