One person had car trouble so hopefully we will see her blocks next week.  We then worked on Nine Patch blocks and each of them got several blocks done.  I am loving the fabrics for each quilt – such fun to see blocks that are exactly alike but so very different.

Make and Take Projects

Every year I teach a Make and Take day at Tiny Stitches.  It is scheduled for November 15.  We always have a fun time and the students go home with several projects that they take home – usually completed or very close to being completed.

Here are the projects for this year.

1015 Make and Take Projects

There is a bag, a covered journal, a covered (wool) tape measure, a table runner and a fold up tool bag that doubles as a pad for your sewing machine, keeping your tools handy.

Beginning Machine Piecing Class Six

Another great class last night.  First we had a little party with the ice cream, blackberry cobbler, pineapple bacon pound cake, cookies, cheesy bread sticks, ranch crackers, apricot bars and more!  Yum!  Here is the ice cream being made.

0915 - Ice Cream

I used a recipe from Martha Stewart that involved vanilla beans and a custard base.  Takes a lot of time but it was worthwhile. Here is a link to the recipe I used.

We worked on flying geese blocks.

Mystery till Midnight

On Saturday night we had a mystery party at the quilt shop.  I have coordinated this several times in the past and we always have a great time – this one was great.  There were 12 people participating.  I cut kits and there were two choices.  Cool colors and warm colors.  The cool included blues, purple and turquoise.  Here is one of the cool quilts on the design wall.  Not sure if this is the way she will actually put it together but it is an interesting setting.

The warm colors were also great – I think this is the one I would have picked.

Roxanne was playing with her blocks – again I am not sure this will be the final result.  The pattern actually called for all the blocks to just be set side to side in the same direction but it is always fun to see what people decide to do.
