Goodbye Big Boy

I'm sitting here looking through Angus's blog, reminiscing on the beautiful 7 years we have had with him.
Today we said goodbye to Angus.
This year he has been deteriorating in his health.  He has had Horners Syndrome (facial paralysis) on both sides and his sight, hearing, coat and muscle is going.  On our last visit to the vet before our trip to Melbourne, she diagnosed him with brain cancer.
Next week we move to Perth so have decided to say goodbye before we leave so the move doesn't cause him any more anxiety.
We love you, Big Boy and will miss you like crazy.

I have a little sister

I don't think I've told you yet that I have a little sister!  Her name is Ditzy and she is 9 months old.
Today we went to the beach and ran and ran and ran...and swam.  We don't like swimming very much but sometimes we get made to.  We act brave though and swim hard until we reach the sand!

Here is my sister, Ditzy...

I love her so much.  I don't know what I'd do without her now she's here.

Animal Exercise Beach in Hillarys

Angus needed a good walk today so we went in search for a dog beach where he could have a run.  We drove down the coast road until we came to this exercise beach.  There was NO WAY we were going to let him off the lead.  There were probably 100 dogs on this beach and we did not trust Angus to behave himself!

It was definitely an eye opener though and really miss Esperance beaches now!  I won’t be going here without Murray as my arm would get ripped off with all the dogs Angus wanted to say hello to.  He did have a good time though.

I’m not sure tongues can get any longer than this one!

Angus is nearly 2!

Been a bit slack with my updates...it's just cause poor Angus hasn't been doing anything interesting lately :(

It is Angus' birthday on the 11th of April and he will be 2. He is still such a softy...loves being with us and cries at the back door if he wants company. He still only knows how to bark when it's at bugs...which we like.
Here are some recent photos of our boy.
with his fav toy 'Rottie'

This is how he sleeps!

and being silly...

Adventures to Come

Stay tuned for some Angus adventures as we are off to the beach for Christmas...Angus LOVES the beach! It's been a whole year since he has been there..He's going to have so much fun!

Angus recently broke his tail...poor baby. He seems to be fine now though after some time and pain killers. We aren't sure how he broke it but I suspect wagging it too much as the grandparents arrived and he was super excited! Here he is feeling very sorry for himself...

It's been very hot here for the poor boy so we are back to giving him ice blocks....his favourite summer treat :)

Edited to Add: Well we are back from holidays and Angus did have some beach fun but i forgot to take the camera :(

Settling Down :)

Angus is now 15 months and is finally starting to settle down :) We can go into the back yard now without him getting over excited and running laps around the yard. He can also sit on his mat inside now without being silly and getting told off. He's such a lovely boy. He is also starting to fill out too and you can't see his ribs as much as before.
Well there hasn't been any exciting outings lately for Angus so can't report on anything or show any photos...life is pretty boring for the boy actually. It's winter here at the moment and miserable weather so no beach or dam swims :(
Here's a photo I found on Ashlee's camera of Angus sleeping with his teddy in his mouth...check out those teeth hehe...
and here he is enjoying the school holidays...

One in Two Weeks!

I can't believe our baby boy will be one soon.
Here is a photo Ashlee took tonight...he is such a great poser.

Isn't he a beauty!
We might be going back to holiday at the beach in 2 weeks so Angus can have some beach runs..he loves the beach!

Keeping Cool

We have had some hot days here lately so we have been giving Angus big iceblocks to keep him cool....and it's a great boredom buster! He works on it for a good hour.

Freeeeze those lips off!

Check out that huge tongue!

Angus and His Care Bear

He loves his Care Bear so much...she even talks to him. They snuggle on the mat usually, but lately he would rather rip her nose off...Poor Care Bear. I have told Angus that if her stuffing starts coming out she is going in the bin!

Video at Railway Dam

The quality is pretty bad because it was taken on Murrays' mobile phone, but this is Angus having fun at Railway dam...doing his 'head under the water' thing.

The New Watering Hole

While I was away Murray started taking Angus to this Dam to try and get cool. We have no beaches or rivers etc where we live, so dams are pretty much the only place to go. Angus loves it...he runs along in the water with his head under until he can't breathe then takes a breath then goes again...very funny to watch. Yesterday when we returned from holidays we all went down to check out this new place...not that it's new...just new for us and Angus...

Angus ran around like a mad dog. He loves to be free!

Lip Slapping

Check out my boy in the back of the ute! His lips hang so low that when they catch the wind they slap him in the eye! He had his right eye shut to protect his eye against the dreaded lip slap. You would think he would just tuck his head in to prevent this wouldn't you.

Show Me Some Teeth!

Angus had another wonderful day at the beach today. He still won't go very far in and runs away from the waves, but LOVES running around like a mad dog. Check out this photo of him tearing down the beach.
and resting after his play. I can't imagine it would be too comfy having sand in your eyes and mouth and up your nose, but that didn't stop Angus from face planting and rolling around in the sand for fun...silly boy.

Christmas Day

Angus had a great time on Christmas day. The day started with a run on the beach and his first ever beach/ocean experience...which he didn't really like. When a ripple would touch his feet he would shoot off back up the beach. He loved running around though.

a bit of encouragement for getting wet...
mum with Chloe and Angus...
and then we headed out to the Parker's farm for Christmas lunch. Here he is relaxing on the decking.

He has gone back home with Murray now, but has a great time on holidays with his cousins Chloe and Lucy.

First Sprinkler Experience

We weren't sure how Angus would react to the sprinkler. Here is a commentary of his experience...

Arrrr...RUN!!! It's attacking me!

Will I? Won't I?

Why not....ohhh...this is GOOOOD!

Come and get me...Come and get me!

Mmmmm, now this is the life!

He spent the remainder of the time eating the water as it sprayed out...a big hit!

8 Months old

It has been ages since my last post. We have recently spent a month in Melbourne to spend time with family so Angus went to stay in a kennel for that time. It is a lovely kennel on a farm with such loving owners. He looked so good when we picked him up and was so much more affectionate and obedient! That was 2 weeks ago and I am afraid he has gone back to being a knuckle head. Once school goes back next year (Feb) I will be taking him to Beginners Dog training. He really enjoyed puppy school so I want to continue with his training...plus he needs it!
We are heading down to Esperance soon and Angus will come with us and hang out with his cousins Chloe and Lucy...he is a lot bigger than last time he saw them so hopefully he plays nice. It will be great being on holidays and not having a schedule so we can give him more attention.

Here he is at 7.5 months.
