MMCSDT - Whale Done!

Hello Everyone! I have a card to share with you which I made using the 'Whale Hello' stamp set from Avery Elle which is available here from My Mum's Craft Shop.

I created a little scene for my Whale to dive around in using paper from the Carta Bella 'It's a boy papers'. I used a scalloped square die to create the waves which I then inked with some distress ink.

I coloured my image using Promarkers and then added him to my card using foam pads. I finished with a sentiment from the set and a bow and some wooden stars from my stash. This will be my last blog post for a few weeks as I am going in to hospital on Friday to have an operation on my hand.
I hope you have a lovely Tuesday!

MMCSDT: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Hello Everyone! Are you ready for Christmas? I nearly am. Christmas celebrations start for me today as it is my Work Christmas lunch so I am looking forward to some lovely food with my lovely colleagues and a catch up after what has been a very busy year for lots of us. I have broken one of my rules this year and have bought Christmas cards for my family as I have run out of time to make special cards for everyone. I cannot remember the last time I bought cards!
There is still some time left for me to whip up some handmade cards from my Friends using some of the lovely Avery Elle Christmas Florals stamps from My Mum's Craft shop.

To make the card, I used a round die to trace a circle with pencil on to some white card as a starting point then stamped the sentiment into the middle of the circle. I then stamped the wreath starting with the lighter green leaved then stamping the darker ones over the top. I let it dry and then rubbed out my pencil lines.

I stamped some berries to which I added stick on gems then stamped some flowers on to scrap card and cut them out before adding them to the wreath with foam pads. I then finished with some gems and pearls and added the finished wreath to a card covered with spotty paper.
I am entering my card in to the Ribbon Girl 'Anything Goes Challenge'. I hope you have a lovely Friday and a lovely Weekend.

MMCSDT: A cute family of Penguins and a very exciting nomination!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well. It's my day for posting on the My Mum's Craft shop blog today but before I show you my card, I have some very exciting news to share with you. I found out yesterday that I have been nominated for Favourite Card Designer for the British Craft Awards 2016 which take place during the Craft Trade show at the NEC in February. I am so delighted and still very surprised and happy to have been nominated. My Mum's Craft Shop is also nominated so I am thrilled about that too! If you would like to vote you can do so by clicking on the logo below and it will take you to the website.

So exciting!!! Now on to my card. I am trying to get organised and make some more Christmas cards as Christmas is fast approaching! I have nearly finished my shopping but have not made many cards at all. I used the Avery Elle Penguin Greetings stamp set on my DT card for My Mum's Craft shop. I love this set and I think I will be using it for a lot of my cards for Friends and Family this year as I love the way you can use the little penguins together to represent Family groups.

I used the fabulous Doodlebug Sugar Plums papers and an older Paper Smooches sentiment.  I am trying to wean myself off using my sewing machine so much on my cards at the moment so didn't stitch this one and kept the layout quite simple.

I had lots of fun paper piecing the penguin's clothes using matching papers from the pad and coloured the images using my Promarkers. These were very quick to colour in and I then finished the card with some stick on gems and a wooden snowflake. I hope you have a lovely Friday and a lovely weekend.

Friday, 1 May 2015

Hello Everyone! It's my day for positing some inspiration using some fabulous products from My Mum's Craft shop. I have made a card using some gorgeous papers from the Authentique 'Crush' paper pad which is available here from My Mum's Craft shop.

I created a simple layout layering up different paper from the pad sticking to a black, white, red and pink colour scheme. I used a doily die to create a topper and added a die cut which I cut from red card using an Avery Elle 'Love' die,

I added some ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and a paper flower and some stick on gems as a finishing touch. I hope you have a lovely Friday and a lovely Bank Holiday Monday,
