Happy Easter!

This year we had a great easter!  Lots of easter egg hunts, LOTS of candy, and a lot of family fun!  But... it was impossible to get a good photo of the kids.  All that work to get them looking this cute, and this is the best I got!

This picture could have been SOOOO cute if I could have got Sadee looking up.  She really wanted a picture holding Brodee's hand.  He wasn't as cooperative.

The Easter bunny got Brodee some stylin sunglasses and he is sporting them really well here.  haha

Sadee wore hers on her head.

Kenzie got this cute bike.  She was really excited!

Another great Easter here at our house.  Now I just need to figure out what to do with all the candy!

Thankful...

I am so thankful for these three little cuties.

Heading to Nana and Papa's for Thanksgiving dinner
This year was a special year.  Scott's mom and dad decided to do Thanksgiving dinner with just their own little family.  They did such a great job and it was fun to spend the day with family.  The day before Thanksgiving McKenzie and I had made little goody bags for all her cousins.  Thanksgiving morning McKenzie, Brodee, and Sadee woke up with their own goody bag.  We usually try and go to a movie on Thanksigiving but decided not to attempt that this year.  So, instead we stayed home and watched a movie in our jammies.  That was fun too!  I truly am grateful for all my blessings.  I have been reminded often this season how blessed we are to be healthy and to have our family.  I have three beautiful kids, a wonderful husband, two sets of parents who bless us so much, siblings, grandmas, grandpas.  It is truly a blessing!!!

And before Thanksgiving was even over.... I left and did some SERIOUS black friday shopping.  One of the best years ever!  Though it only took me a solid week to recover.

My babies are growing up.

These pictures crack me up and makes me cry all at the same time.  Less than 18 months ago they probably could have both fit inside that small little cradle.  They are doing so good though.  This last week has been a huge milestone for me.  I took the bottle away.  They have done great.  And as I sit here and type this they both laid down for a nap with no tears at all!!!

Brodee is still huge.  I really need to take him to the doctor and find out his stats because I am sure he is 30+ pounds (of pure muscle :)  He is such a funny boy.  He has a deep belly laugh and loves to be silly.  He is pretty easy-going.  Sadee is in a phase right now where regardless of what she's doing, she will stop everything and take away whatever Brodee is playing with.  Brodee gets angry, but never really fights back.  (OK, she does have a few bite marks up and down her arms, but relatively few compared to the number of fights)  He loves to throw balls and is so much fun to have around.

Sadee is going through a very sassy stage.  She literally has a scowl on her face almost 24 hours a day.  I know she thinks it's funny and only turns that frown around to laugh at herself.  She clearly says "No" "Don't" and "daddy".  She says lots of other things but we're hoping they're different from how they sound! (ha,ha)  She really is a sweetheart and is also so much fun to have around.  Can't believe they're growing so fast.  Where did this last year go?

Boise State Waahh...

A few weeks ago Scott and I and some friends were able to go to the Boise State game against TCU.  It was a blast.... until the last minute.  We're all pretty bummed around here about this seasons outcome.  But, it was really fun to be at the game.  Maybe next year.  (But isn't that what we said last year?)

Halloween

This year we did a lot of fun Halloween activities.  Callie's husband Scott invited us to a Melaleuca trick-or-treating.  This was a lot of fun.  Not too many people, tons of fun decorations, and lots of candy!  I was surprised at how quick the twins caught on to trick-or-treating.  Sweet little Sadee would casually take a piece of candy, and then another, and another until finally the pour person holding the bowl had to take it away from her.  It was really cute.

We also went to our church Halloween party.  The primary had been hyping these kids up for weeks!  McKenzie saw a poster in the foyer of LAST years Halloween party and starting crying because she thought we had missed it.  It was really fun for her.  Lots of cute activities.

On Halloween we made slime (which was not a hit), painted paper plate pumpkins and went trick-or-treating.  Halloween was a little chilly but as you will notice... Brodee and Sadee's costumes were plenty warm.  In fact I think pour Brodee was getting heat stroke hauling his big body around in the big warm costume.

The kids were really fun this year.  Next year I will try not to be such a bah humbug about putting the kids in their costumes because each time was totally worth it!

Ready to do this
Brodee and Sadee thought it was hilarious to walk around with their buckets on their head.

We didn't see much of McKenzie.  She ran around the neighborhood with this cute crew of big girls.

The Pumpkin Patch

This year we went as a family to the pumpkin patch. We ended up picking one of the windiest and coldest days of the season to go. McKenzie spent the whole time following her friends around and didn't even care about the pumpkins. They all went on a train ride and through a straw maze. Brodee and Sadee were content to sit inside the barn and eat suckers. I did get some cute pictures though!!! After the pumpkin patch we went with some friends to eat pizza. This is one of the only times I can remember taking all our kids out to eat with us since we've had the twins. I was a little nervous, but it turned out really fun. The restaurant was really casual and we kind of just stuck all the kids at a table and let them do their own thing. It was a great family night and McKenzie keeps talking about that one time we went to the pumpkin patch and to pizza.

Just eating our suckers!!!

I'm Back...

I have not posted on this thing for SOOOOO long because everytime I sit down to I get overwhelmed with all the things I SHOULD post about. So, instead... I'm just going to start from today.

We celebrated McKenzie's 4th Birthday last week. I really can't believe it. In fact, if Brodee wouldn't have been such a hard kid so I could focus a little more, I might have been really emotional. McKenzie's my bud. She spends 24 hours a day by my side (literally, she sleeps in my bed still.. We're working on it... it's a 4 year and counting project). I have decided that I would LOVE to freeze McKenzie at the age she is. She's still a cute little kid, but quickly getting into that not so cute age where they're still young, but too old to get away with saying naughty things or having food all over their face. But she's not throwing temper tamptrums on an hourly basis. It's a perfect stage! She says the darndest things, she loves to be the boss (I know... weird ha,ha), and she LOVES to be helpful. She loves to color, read, play with her friends, and watch "Dragon Tales" on Netflix. Apparently her favorite food is carrots??? I really couldn't say what her favorite food is. She eats what I feed her. She does like Ramen noodles thanks to her dad, and she loves fruit snacks. Her favorite color is purple.

To celebrate her birthday we had the neverending birthday week. It wasn't intended that way, but sort of turned out that way. We started Thursday when she was the VIP in school. She requested that I DID NOT stay and watch (which I was not happy about, but figured she'd do better without me) and M&M cookies (which I had never made in my life, or hers for that matter). The cookies turned out AMAZING by the way. Best M&M cookies ever if Ido say so myself.

On her actual birthday we took the whole fam to Fat Cats. We bowled, played miniature golf, ate pizza, and opened presents. This was a blast! I really enjoyed it, and so did the kids.

Brodee enjoyed pushing the ball. He got really upset in the beginning because they were too heavy to pick up and throw around. But got used to the idea of pushing them down the lane.

Sadee just walked around scavenging for food and sassing everyone around. This picture cracks me up. But truthfully, it is so typical Sadee.

The next day we had a birthday party for McKenzie. It was a pajama party. McKenzie had a blast and I'm pretty sure it was the highlight of her birthday week. Cute friends, Good food, pajamas, and presents. What more could you ask for?
