Fantastic Fest 2010 Posters

These are my favorite posters from Fantastic Fest 2010. 'Let Me In' and 'Nevermore'. (The dashes and dots in the 'Let Me In' poster are Morse code for the letters KISS).

B-Roll from 'Let Me In'

One of two. Trailer Addict has another.

Image from 'Let Me In'

Here's a new image from 'Let Me In'. They're managing to keep it character-centered and not pull any punches.

Clip from 'Let Me In'

Clip from 'Let Me In'. Is that a harp and violin soundtrack? More and more anti-Hollywood all the time. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Looks to have been shot digitally.

Another Great Trailer for 'Let Me In'

How do these get better each time? Getting the strong impression this will not be a tinsel Hollywood remake. Seems true to the original's tone -- character-driven suspense psych horror (yes, that's a genre).

'Let Me In' Red Band Trailer

The same as the trailer we got a few days ago, except spiked with a few seconds of very effective footage.

'Let Me In' Trailer

Trailer for 'Let Me In'. Doesn't look quite as organic as the original. The lines are more clearly drawn, it's more mechanical. But, it pushes all the right buttons.

'Let Me In' Poster

Above poster for 'Let Me In' leaves me cold. Does not compare to the poster for the Swedish original 'Let the Right One In' below.

In the poster for the American remake there is the implication of danger in the woods. This is not really what the movie is about. The theme has more to do with hidden identity (and a sense of shame in what one is) and longing for companionship, which the original poster deals with much more directly.

I like how the girl leaves no tracks in the snow, though.

'Let Me In' Trailer

I get the feeling this won't appeal to American fans of mainstream horror and it's a far cry from the soap-opera love angst of 'Twilight', so 'Let Me In' may not find a broad audience. Hope I'm wrong.
