1983.  A Smithsonian Coloring Book "First Ladies Gowns".  I meant to include this Abigail Adams coloring page with the paper doll I posted yesterday.  I remember as a child going to the Smithsonian and viewing the first ladies dresses.

Super Fun with SUPERMAN SUNDAY SPECIAL

 October 08, 1983.  "Here's an action scene for you to color as two Justice Leaguers aid the Man of Steel!  You'd better have a GREEN crayon ready because there are a lot of things that color in this picture.  How many can you find?"  Superman gets help from the Green Lantern and the Green Arrow as Lex Luther does his thing.
February 19, 1983.  "Jimmy Olsen is also a master of disguise and often hides his real identity in order to cover a big story!  Here are Jimmy's normal clothes, plus his private eye and cowboy disguises.  Color them all and cut them out!  Then you can send Jimmy in search of scoops!  Paste Jimmy on cardboard and save him!  Future Sunday Specials will feature other members of our Superman family!"

1983.  FIRST LADIES' GOWNS, A Smithsonian Coloring Book.  Illustrations by Geraldine Lucas.  "Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy.  The First Lady provided ideas and sketches to the designer for this white silk dress, worn to John F. Kennedy's inaugural ball in 1961.  The bodice is embroidered in silver thread, and is veiled overall with white chiffon to give a soft, shimmering effect.  The cape is of the same silk, triple-layered with chiffon.  An embroidered frog adorns the military collar."

MATTHEW Paper Doll

 1983.  AMANDA GOES WEST.  A Journal of Fashion History Through Paper Dolls by Betty J. Mills and Illustrated by L. C.  Ross.  Book 1 of the Amanda Series.  Amanda and her family leave Tennessee and head out to Texas in 1838.  Matthew and his family also moved to Texas.  The series of paper doll books follow the daily life of Amanda and her husband, Matthew, as they raise their family in Texas.
