The Pain Returns
The pain came back just like in June 2010 except higher up. The waves of pain were more in my neck, and it felt like something was pushing on my windpipe when laying down. Because the doctors couldn't figure out what was going on last time, I just worked through it this time. Bad timing. I was right in the middle of spring cleaning and getting the house ready to put on the market. Lots of stress going on, but we made it!

Bountiful Handcart Days Parade
Alex and I attended the Bountiful, Utah, Handcart Days Parade. Alecia has been in Colorado all week at Drum Major Academy. They were supposed to be home in time for the parade to start. They landed just before the parade started, so the Davis High band began without drum majors. I saw Alecia running to catch up and yelled my encouragement.
The final entry of the parade was the 2,000 stripling warriors. They were all in simple costume and carried walking sticks. The captains had tall staffs with flags and were situated in a column down the middle. They signaled a halt right in front of us, and Captain Moroni started a cadence.
They all pounded their sticks and then raised them and shouted
in unison, "We did not doubt!" It was awesome. They began their march
again and tapped their sticks as they went. They just kept coming and
coming.
And then they kept coming and coming some more. There were a few in motorized wheelchairs. The last 2-3 lines of warriors were missionaries with their name tags displayed on their costumes. It was super cool!

Wacky Wednesday
For a combined Young Women activity, they had a Wacky Wednesday. The girls were to come dressed like their moms when they were in high school, and the moms dressed as their daughters. It was easy for me to come up with a shirt similar to Alecia's, and I did my hair like she has done in the past. It was hilarious getting Alecia ready. We teased her hair and used a lot of hair spray and then found an old sweatshirt I used to wear in high school. It was my "Oklahoma" sweatshirt. Big earrings, a tucked-in t-shirt, and "mom jeans" completed the ensemble. We laughed our guts out and then went to the activity where we had a fashion show.

Moonlight Serenade
Each year the Davis High Band program puts on a dinner and dance for the community as a fundraiser. The jazz band plays, and there are Moonlight Serenade singers who sing along. The students serve the food and clean up with adult supervisors. The band director's family makes all of the food. There is also a silent auction. Alecia wanted to go this year and asked her dad to take her. I got to work in the kitchen.

Alecia is Asked to Prom
One night the doorbell rang. Upon answering it, this is what we found.
It says, "You light up my life and put a SPRING in my step. Will you got to PROM with Sterling?
The word "spring" was spelled out with trampoline springs. "Prom" was spelled out in tea lights.
Super cute idea!
In attempting to blow out the lights, Alecia's powerful clarinet lungs blew wax all over the driveway.

Spring Break in Arizona
Bill had a meeting in Arizona over spring break, so we decided to join him! We got to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Anderson, go to the zoo, and attend the Mesa Easter Pageant. It was wonderful!
