999 - Live @ Markthalle, Hamburg 28/10/80

No introductions or grand narratives needed for 999, one of Britains great punk bands. This recording is a short, sharp and sweet set of songs pilfered from a torrent site, with respect to the original uploader, and posted here for your enjoyment!

999 - I'm Alive In '85

In February of the year of 1985, 999 paid a visit to Bowes Lyon House in Stevenage. Probably one of the biggest bands to visit the venue since The Who played there in the 60’s. 999 had been players on the 77 punk scene, Second division some say, but top flight if you ask me. Unfortunately the album they were promoting; Face To Face was/is far too much of a poppy affair, not one of their better offerings. Live however, now that was a different story; as this recording from Glasgow in May of the same year testifies. The band blast out the old classics, and a few of their stronger new ones and literally bringing the barricades down. Have a listen and you’ll see what I mean. Enjoy! The band are still knocking ‘em out today and their last album Death In Soho was a mighty fine return to form for them. I’ve been meaning to post some 999 for a while, just had to wait for the day.

999 and GENERATION X - Re-Upped and Re-Packaged.

Here ya go Usted, just for you and anyone else who hasn't been able to download these two cracking shows from the old skool; 999 @ The Nashville in 1979 and GENERATION X - Live in Sheffield 1978. I've done 'em as one download, but in two separate folders (hopefully) any problems with the opening of files/folders, leave a comment, also if there's any other dead links you may require let us know. Got a couple more 999 shows I may post sometime, also on the subject of thee old skool, in the comments under neath the Chron Gen post, Pip has kindly left the link to a couple of live CHELSEA shows that were released by Chaos Tapes. 999 - Live @ The Nashville 1979

Another bunch of 'punks' that were never really given the credit they deserved by their peers, surprising when you think that their drummer Pablo LaBrittain went to school with Joe Strummer and was the first Clash drummer, until he fell out with Bernie Rhodes, and Tony James (Generation X) was briefly 999's bass player. Shows that the 'original punk scene' was really an elitist clique of faces that fitted the clothes. Never mind 'cos the punters loved them and their catchy sing a long anthems. They released a string of killer singles, their albums were sometimes a bit patchy, but all in all a great fucking band who are still playing occasionally today.
