Hello!

Why hello there!  I do apologize for leaving y'all hanging for almost 2 years. I haven't felt like blogging in a very long time, and I know many of y'all can relate.  Not much has changed, other than being in a new home. Harper is now 6 and Reid is now 2, which just blows my mind.

Here are a few peeks of our new humble abode. We have already made so many memories in this home, with our dear family and friends. The door is always open for our loved ones.

I changed things up a bit from our last kitchen and decided to do open shelving and pull out drawers. It's been extremely functional and we spend most of our time in this space.

The kids rooms are pretty much the same as in our last home.

I can't believe the last post was when Reid was 3 months old.  Here are some updated photos of the kiddos.

When those cuties above are tucked in for the night, I start monogramming away.

Seriously,  is there anything sweeter?

Thank y'all so much for stopping by, but I've gotta run already. I should be back before 2 years;)

Flower Fields 2012

It's that time of year again. Today we took the family to the ranuncula Flower Fields which we do every year.  I love how we've managed to take a photo of Harper each year on this cute mushroom.  I can't believe how much he has grown.

Reid was peacefully sleeping the entire time.  I can't believe she is already 6 weeks old!

The real reason why I go every year is for the strawberry lavender shortcake and shakes.Yes, you read that right...strawberry+lavender.
The  day was too gorgeous to stay inside, so after the flower fields we stopped by the house to grab our beach gear and off we went to soak up the sun. Summer really can't come soon enough!

Easter Weekend.

Hope y'all had a happy Easter!  Ours was very nice, thanks for asking! ;)

This was as far as I got with decorations...

I did make these pretty easter oreos though!

Harper and Reid got new stationary and a few other treats:)

And Collin and I made a southern spread for lunch, including the most delicious mac and cheese from one of my favorite cookbooks. Here is the recipe.

It was a hit!

Easter was not complete without hitting the beach to watch the sunset.

Hope y'all have a wonderful week! xoxo

3 weeks

Just popping in real quick to say "hello" and to also thank each and every one of y'all who left such heartfelt stories, sentiments, love and support in my previous post. I have read each comment multiple times, and truly appreciate the kindness and love y'all sent this way!!! My heart is full of so much joy.

Reid is growing so incredibly fast, and Harper is basically a teenager;) I wish I could just hit pause at the very moments that I took these pictures, and just take in all of its goodness in slow motion.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

March 3rd, 2012

For the past 17 years, March 3rd, has been one of the hardest and saddest days of my life.  It has always been a day where a flood of emotions overcome me, and I constantly say to myself..."It feels like just yesterday...".  I can remember being 14 years old on the evening of March 3rd, and watching my dad get ready to go to a dinner party at our neighbors house with a bunch of his friends, all of whom were physicians.  He himself was a wonderful doctor. One who worked way too hard at making other people happy before taking care of himself.  Little did I know that he would not come back home that night.  Instead, he passed away from a massive heart attack while dancing. Boy did he love to dance. He was the most amazing father and I am so blessed to have had him in my life for 14 years. The memories we made together will last me a lifetime.

As this past Saturday, March 3rd 2012 approached, just before the clock struck midnight to be exact, the unthinkable happened.  My water broke.  Baby girls due date is March 26th, and I had a scheduled c-section for March 19th.  To say I was in shock is an understatement. I was scared beyond belief, but the second I realized that it was my dads anniversary, I knew it was a sign from him.  That I no longer have to feel sadness, but happiness on this day.  That day quickly became one of the happiest days of my life.

At 1:50AM on March 3rd, 2012  our beautiful daughter Reid was born.   She has made our lives complete and has filled our hearts with so much love and joy. Reid Gloria Sorensen.  Named after Collin's middle name, and my other angel in heaven, my beautiful mom.

A BIG Thanks to all of you who have sent so much love and support as we welcomed our newest addition.  We can't thank y'all enough for the food drop offs especially.  Our hearts are so full of love and gratitude for you all. xoxo,  Grace, Collin, Harper and Reid:)
