LDS Primary 2014 Birthday Gifts

I currently serve as the Primary President in the LDS church.  I over see the children ages 18 months - 11 years old.  I love this calling!  For the 2014 year the theme is: Families Are Forever.
We wanted the birthday gifts for the children to center around this wonderful theme so this is what all of the children, including the nursery age children and all the Primary teachers will receive from the Primary Presidency.
A 4x6 copy of the Proclamation of the Family to keep in their scriptures
(I found the Proclamation Printable in this etsy shop!  She was wonderful to work with and made me a custom listing for the 4x6 size. Even at that small of a size, the words are so clear and readable!!)
also included is a small treat
I bought pkg of candy right now since bulk is cheapest around Halloween time, balloon gift bags, ribbon and 100+ copies of the Proclamation the the Family. (colors include blue, pink, white, brown)
Tied them all up and they are ready to go.

Happy Everything Pennant Banner: teacher gift idea

I wanted to make something special for my child's Kindergarten teacher.  She is a great teacher.  She loves what she does and does a great job at it.
So I made her a Happy Everything Banner that she can hang up in her classroom.
Instead of waiting until the end of the school year to give this to her, we are giving it to her for Valentine's Day.
I am wrapping it up and attaching a note that says, "Thank you for teaching me so much about everything!"

I have made it easy for you if you want to give one away as well.
I have added them into my shop.

little miss Frankenstein Candy Jars

I made up these little cuties to hand out at an upcoming Witch's Night out party.
Supplies needed are:  baby jars (spray paint the lids black), googly eyes attached with glue dots, black web tulle and a plastic Halloween ring, sharpie marker to draw on face and green candy to go inside the jar (I found my green candy in the bulk section at Winco)

Mother's day Lunch 2012 Recap

My Mother's Day Luncheon was a fantastic event.
I had such fun putting it all together.
Here are the photos of the flowers and food as promised from my
I tutorial for the cute wooden picket fence is coming soon!

TIN CAN Flowers:  I wrapped soup cans with cute brown paper and tied them with ribbon.  I planted flowers in each of them and used them not only for the table decor but each lady took one home along with there gift bag.
More fresh flowers were used on the food table
I made flower corsages for each lady to wear.  I placed them on their plates at the start of lunch.
The Food Table:

Chinese Chicken Oriental Salad was the main dish.
Homemade Cheese cake was for dessert. (forgot to take a picture.....it was delish!)
After lunch I hand delivered each one their gift bag.  They were super excited and felt extra special.
My favorite part about this wonderful afternoon was listening to the conversations about special memories about each one's mother or other important woman in their lives.
I am grateful to have had my mom, mother in law, a grandma, an aunt and a sister in law there.  Each one represented a special person in my life.  I am grateful to all of the woman in my life and so wish I could have had them all there.
I hope you had a great Mother's Day!

Mother's Day Luncheon

I have invited some special guests to a Mother's Day lunch this weekend.  My mother, aunt, mother in law, grandma and a sister in law.  It's going to be a fun afternoon just to get together and have some yummy food.

Below are the little things that I have put together to make this a special lunch.....I will do a recap next week on the food and flowers that I also have planned.
First, I found this adorable set of free printables that truly helped pull this all together.
They were perfect for my red and turquoise theme.

Here are the invitations:

Place setting treat buckets:
dollar store buckets found in the wedding section filled with treats

Family Photos:
I gathered up a photo of each person taken with their mom.
I went for older photos....take a look at them, they are so fun and add a personal touch.

Individual salad dressing cups:
I found these tiny shot cups at the dollar store
They will be perfect to go with the main dish

red CRUSH drinks and straws:

 Banner for the food table:

 Table settings:
I had fun pulling the table together.  I already had the polka dot table cloth that I had made several months ago, I used scrapbook paper for the place mats.  I found the free printable to place next to each plate, added the family photos to the table for everyone to see and enjoy.  Cute polka dot paper plates from walmart.  I will be planting flowers into cans that will be placed down the middle of the table.

 Guests Gift bags:
Each guest will be receiving one of these bags to take home.
Each bag has a candy dish, homemade chocolate chip cookies and some other little items.
I made the candy dishes with Target bowls and dollar store candle sticks.

I hope this has helped you put together a fun lunch for the important women in your life.
Happy Mother's Day!
I'll post pictures next week of the food and guests next week!

Spring Towel up-do

The great thing about this project is it helps with spring cleaning........
it's a great way to use up fabric scraps, cover up stains on old towels that still have some life left and these towels also work great as home decor; after you have scrubbed down that oven or bathroom just hang them up.  Either way they are sure to help brighten up your space.
Go make yourself some:  grab a towel, some fabric and sew on your fabric right to them.  If you are not a sewer, then heat n bond is your best friend.  Simply iron your fabric onto the towels.  simple as that.

And then if you really do not want to make these yourself, then you are in luck, I have a few sets of these happy pennant towels in my shop, all ready to go. Go HERE to see.
Happy cleaning, happy gift giving or happy decorating!
