It's not a doll, IT'S AN ACTION FIGURE!!!!

here is R2 Part 2, also named R2-DL. Kickin' it ol' school at Sleeping Beauty's Castle at Disneyland. it's funny i tried to get a similar shot to the one i did at Disney World but the castle was to short and could not get it in a shot from mainstreet.

i had actually given up on taking the photo till we were leaving the park at night and i realized i could shoot it from the railing and i had to use the flashlight on my i-phone to illuminate R2. I think it turned out, hope all you kids out there enjoy it!

"The Pop Project"

Check out this new blog i am lucky to be a part of, "The Pop Project". My friend Charles of Eclectorama Blog who is the one also responsible for Spockcation put together this blog with a couple of artists whom have a great love for pop culture. The idea behind the blog is at the begining of the month viewers get to vote and choose a theme for the month and each artist then has the rest of the month to create some kind of art piece to post. Its a nice way to see different artist views on one subject. so check it out, vote and enjoy!

this was the first month and we did one of our pop culture influences. I chose Disney. Here is the piece i did called, A Tightrope Between Imagination & Reality. but go and visit the site and read about it and check out the others, they are really wonderful artists. AND DON'T FORGET TO VOTE ON THE NEXT THEME!!!!!

Callin' All Tiki Nerds!!!

ok kids so the Hukilau just made a few major announcements for their line-up next year. They will be having Don Tiki straight from the Hawaiian Islands and I am very excited to say "SHAG". Mr. Scott Agle will be coming of to the east coast for the Hukilau. I am very excited...

I am also stoked they will be having a tiki bowling tournament which me and a few friends are going to start prepping for.

I will be doing the flyer art as well as the website for 2010. I just finished the teaser postcard. Take a look..... & mark your calendars it will be a rockin' good time as always. Hit up the Hukilau Website and sign-up for the mailing list to keep informed. Hope to be seeing you there next year.

A Hukilau: is a traditional Hawaiian festival held in the fishing villages of old. A large net is cast into the sea then the villagers herd the fish and slowly pull the net to the shore. The feast that follows is meant to emphasize the spirit of family and community, or 'ohana. The mainland Hukilau is a net thrown out to the entire world, bringing the lovers of "Polynesian Pop" or "Tiki" culture together for our own special celebration.

Highly Illogical

i did this painting for the "Three of a Kind" artshow awhile back at the Bear & Bird Gallery. i ended up taking the character & adapting it for a sticker for Tate's Comics & also with just the name spock on it with the intensions of silkscreening some kids t-shirts.
