5 on the 5th - Summer Reprise

Stephen has dusted off 5 on the 5th for a Summer Special!

My photos are from my trip up to London yesterday. I wanted to try and soak up some of the Olympic atmosphere, see the Damien Hirst exhibition (review to follow at some point), and take the Cable Car across the Thames from Greenwich.

I succeeded in two of those aims and also met my Uncle, Sister and Brother-in-Law for drinks and a lovely meal. An enjoyable day which has generated stories a few family stories - thanks to my lateness in meeting the others and then a trek across the Greenwich peninsula.

Anyway, my pictures of the day have an Olympic theme. It was ironic that the very day I was in London, I was least in touch with what was happening - doubly ironic given that it was a record-breaking day!

The Question - coming on January 22nd

Question: What do you do when you end a long running and successful blog series? Well, you start another one, of course!

Regular readers will know that on the 5th of every month, I used to contribute to a photo-sharing series, 5 on the 5th. Now the brain behind that collective blogging experience has come up with "The Question". The concept is simple - a question is set which bloggers from all over the bloggersphere will interpret and answer it as they see fit. Having published their post, they put a link on Stephen's blog and read the other contributions.

The various responses should then generate a debate and/or shared experiences across several blogs and their comments sections. The first question to be answered is:

What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?

So, get your thinking cap on, your virtual quill poised and your ink well (real or imagined) filled... On your marks, get set, go...

It's time for this month's 5 on the 5th and the theme this month is "Movement"... I must confess I found the theme tricky - especially as only have my phone to take pictures with - so you'll just have to imagine any movement illustrated for yourself.

5 on the 5th - October

It's time for 5 on the Fifth and this month, the theme was "pleasure". 

I'm afraid my pictures aren't particularly on theme, other than I took them during a pleasurable walk at lunchtime today. They were all taken on Brandon Hill in Bristol. The Tower is Cabot Tower which celebrates the achievement of John Cabot who sailed from Bristol and discovered North America in 1497.

For this month's 5 on the 5th, the theme is "new"... and I must confess that I have not gone (or even attempted to go) with the theme. (I don't think the fact that all the pictures are new will cut the mustard.)

Once again it's time for 5 on the 5th - Stephen's fantastic participatory blog experience. This month's themes were Clothes and Happy.

Well, I'm rarely happier than when engrossed in a good book - I've just started Living Dead in Dallas - the second of the Southern Vampire Mysteries which form the basis of the TrueBlood TV series:

And given the right mood, I can happily spend hours browsing a bookshop:

It's even possible to find a book about being happiness - complete with a happy cover!

Of course, book shopping isn't for everyone, some people prefer shopping for clothes:

 At the end of today, though, what will make me really happy is if the referendum result it YES!

It's 5 on the 5th time again. This month, the theme is "lines" which I have loosely adhered to.
