AlMashoor (P) Reunion

Last Sunday, a few of my seniors in AlMashoor had organized a reunion for our small school.. and I regret to say that I didn't join in.

*sigh*

I was so excited about this when kak Rid had suggested it but in the end, due to the budget constraints I'm still suffering since the accident (I know, dah berbulan kan!) and well, also because I had forgotten that I'd promised a teacher I'd take over his class that day, I couldn't join in the fun.

I thought I wouldn't miss on much.. but when I looked at the pictures by kak Melia (btw, photos are credit to her) and Sir Chong, I realized I missed out on A LOT! Ruginye~~

Why? Why do I say rugi?!? Coz some teachers also came for the reunion and the school was more than happy to let us use the dining hall for the reunion.

I'd joined in on the discussion and was among the first ones to vote for BIHUN KUAH LAKSA as one of the item on the menu.. Somehow, we only find this in AlMashoor. And somehow, EVERYONE wanted Pak Cik Mat to make it hehe.. tp takde rezeki, Pak Cik Mat dah lama gantung periuk. He doesn't do the canteen (ours OR other places) anymore.. rugi nye!

Some of the seniors had gone to school earlier for the reunion. Letters and official stuff and they had uploaded pictures of our dear, cute school.. cute?!?! Well, it actually is cute coz I'm pretty sure we're the smallest school in Penang. We only have ONE U-shaped block.. no field but a court in the middle.. and thats all! Comel la kan kirenye tu hehe..

Anyway, from the pictures, I noticed a lot of change in my school.. and I wish I could see it for myself instead of just through the pictures.

From the pictures posted, I realized that my favourite teacher ever: Cikgu Nooriah (purple tudung) also came! Memang sgt rugi coz I really want to thank her in person for being the one who made me love maths. I always try to be a teacher just like she was but I know I fall short in most things. Still, all the right things I do when teaching is all due to her.

Beside her is Teacher Mariah. I never really had any classes with Teacher Mariah but she was the secretary for the school PTA and Abah was the president so I got to know her pretty well, along with her family too.

Then there was also Cikgu Pah (sitting in the middle below)! My add maths teacher in forms 4 and 5.. and she doesn't seem to change a bit! Some students were afraid of her.. me included especially since I'm always forgetful about any letters she asks me to give Abah (she was the PTA treasurer). But I love her class. She was the one who made my class take on the Pusat Kecemerlangan Matematik project for our school and I still remember the fun we had in setting it up. Oh.. she also has the prettiest signature in school! All curly and curvy.. tho I never dared to tell her that.

On Cikgu Pah's (Errkk.. Cikgu Shariffah Affiffah!) right is Ckgu Zakirah who taught me for a few months when she just arrived in AlMashoor around the time I was in form 2.. I think?!?!

But on Cikgu Pah's left is another favourite teacher, Cikgu Azizah who taught us Kemahiran Hidup.. and she too seems to not hove changed at all.. ehh, ape ni?! Nape cikgu² mcm tk berubah pun?!?!

Cikgu Azizah was the most motherly teacher in school. We could talk to her about anything and ask her so many questions about growing up. There was never a dull moment in her class and I really wished I could meet her since my last class with her was when I was in form 3 la kan.

Then there was also Cikgu Khairana.. the library teacher AND pakar Geography sekolah hehe.. and she also doesn't look as if she aged since I last had my class (in form 3) with her.. why ah?!?! Awet mude je pun sumer cikgu² sy ni.. ape rahsia?!?!

And last but not least.. SIR CHONG!!

Hahah.. ok! Those who read my blog since I first wrote this blog would probably notice his name in one of my earlier enties. The teacher I resented only because he had teased me ONCE after a history test in form 2. I didn't talk with him till I was in form 5 (Ohh~~ Sungguh buruk perangai ku) even when he was still as nice as ever. And yes, he is one of the nicest teachers who actually emailed me when he found my email on the net a few years ago. Macam malu kan sy dok buat perangai camtu dulu hahah..

And this is the only teacher who'd use coloured chalks when teaching. He taught me history and the blackboard was filled with his colourful doodles.. till now, he's the ONLY teacher I know who does this!

I heard that they had a lot of fun during the reunion.. saje nak bg sy jeles la tu.. uwaaaa~~

Anyway, here's another picture from kak Melia's FB. My cute and small school. These two joint blocks were the academic area during my time. The third block was the hostel. We only had around 500++ students then.. and that was counting form 6 students.

*sigh*

I really wish I had gone to the reunion. Now I can only hope they'd be kind enough to organize another one (kak Melia ade ckp cam ura² nak buat a bigger one around raya nanti) in the near future. Till then, dok ulang bukak FB kak Melai and Sir Chong la to look at the photos..

Yesterday was the kenduri of my cousin (who is 3 years younger than me *sigh*). I drove all the way to Teluk Intan (siap sesat² lagi haha..) with Mama and Iskandar from 5am and arrived there around 9.30am after I promised my cousin Azilah, "Takpe, kak Yong mesti sampai pukul 7.30pagi ni nanti.." Aiseyyy, maluuuuu haha..

Anyway, we arrived home this morning around 2am and I slept like a log the whole day, dah la tak leh solat, lagi la takde alasan nak bgn awal kaaaaannnn =p

So why so tired (aside from the fact I was the sole driver la!)?

I had spent the whole of Friday making some things for my cousins wedding ni laaa.. dari pagi Jumaat, sampai la awal pagi Sabtu around 2.45am baru abis.. Ohh, rase cam Supergirl, boley?

Then I made a few batches of Diana's Apom Polkadot =)


Ni pun seb bek ade pembantu bile tibe time nak membungkus.. klau tak, nangis gak la doing it all by myself..

By 2.45am, tho I wasn't sleepy (didn't dare to sleep sbb kul 5am dah nak gerak kan!) tp sgt la penat badan. Seriusly, sy tamau la amik order bnyk² klau akan penat gini. Wpun buat bnyk ni je punnnnn, mcm la buat beratus-ribu kaaaaannn hehe..


Ohh.. lupe plak.. atas permintaan pengantin, I made some cupcakes tp ni bkn utk hantaran or ape je.. Just for the family to eat shj~♥

Wisdom-less, now that I'm wisdomtooth-less?!

Yup.. I've finally managed to take out the wretched tooth. The one thats been giving me so much agony for the past few months and which always has given me a problem everytime I wanted to go to the dentist to extract it. The last one being, "Gusi awak bengkak so sy tak boleh nak cabut gigi kalau gusi bengkak. Sile makan ubat ni dan datang jumpe sy balik bile gusi awak dah tak bengkak", said the motherly dentist of USM dental clinic in USM Penang a.k.a the dentist yg come here to our campus every.. err, Thursday?

It was an outta the blue kinda decision. Actually, my gums have been fine for month but perasaan takut malas nak pegi cabut gigi overcame me so I never really made the effort until a few days ago.

Last week Yun had been complaining of her own tooth and suddenly on Tuesday, I had an out of body experience where my hand suddenly picked up the phone and promptly made an appointment for my tooth extraction. I wasn't afraid or anything jugak (Well, usually I'm not among those who are afraid of dentist, in fact I usually make sure I get my twice-a-year dental check. Its the tooth-extraction that gets me since I've never had one of those kot.. and maybe because of a traumatic experience when my dentist pulled out the front teeth when I was smaller!)

It was okay until 5 minutes to my appointment where I started regretting making the appointment. Yun (who also made an appointment but never got to the extraction part after the dentist offered,"Nak cabut ke atau tampal je?" <--Huh! Tak aci!) seemed relaxed so I didn't wanna show that I was starting to be afraid.

The dentist was as kind as ever. People tell me that its one of the worst pain, while some tell me its when they wanna 'bius' you which is the most painful.. so OF COURSE LA SY TAKUT GILER!

..which I found out was a waste of time coz I didn't notice when she finished with me! Hahahah..

I DID notice her applying pressure but it wasn't the 'pain' type so I was suprised when she put some clean gauze into my mouth and asked me to bite on it, then proceeded to give me a few packs of gauze to 'replace them when they get soggy'.

Huh? Dah abis ke? Nape tak sakit pun?!?!

Hahaha.. and now I feel like a fool sbb takut sgt berbulan² about this tooth extraction!

When the anesthetic had worn off, I was a bit afraid of the pain but instead I only felt a dull thud now and then.. tu je! Hahhhh! Sgt malu ok..

Tho I still can't eat. Not because of the pain (which btw, mmg takde!) but because I'm conscious of the gaping hole on where my tooth once was (mcm terbayang makanan tersekat kat dlm lubang yg blum tertutup itu.. acikah?)

So now, I'm the proud owner of a bloody wisdom tooth still in the plastic the dentist had given me. I no longer have any wisdom tooth in my mouth since this was the ONLY one which dared to come out thus making my teeth in a total of 28 semula!

Let's just see if I lose any wisdom (selame ni berwisdom sgt ke, Ayu?) with the loss of my wisdom tooth, eh? IF, I can get any clumsier and sillier than I am now haha..

Btw, org melayu ckp, klau gigi belakang dah tumbuh, tak leh tinggi dah! How bout klau dah tumbuh then kite gi cabut, adekah sy masih boleh meninggi?!?!

Adieanna ~ Nikah version

Now this is an even more basi entry when compared to my World Cup finals one haha.. takpe lah, better late than never kot?!?

On the 29th of May, my brother finally joined the ranks of 'laki orang' haha.. He hadn't eaten for days (as opposed to makan bnyk on normal days) and was trying his best to hide how nervous he really was.

That morning, after helping out with the final touches of the hantaran, he started to get ready. The chosen colour for the solemnization was turqoise so he had on a nice baju melayu with matching sampin. But Adi being Adi just couldn't resist playing around macam bukan dia yg nak kawen dalam mase sejam lagik tu, he just had to pose Lat cartoon style with his sampin.. cehhh!

Next, while waiting for everyone, we managed to take a group photo of our family as Adi puts it, "Mase I masih bujang!"

Then we girls of the family took a photo with Ana as I put it, "Mase Ana masih anak dara" Heheh..

At the FRIM mosque, we had to wait for a while for everyone to assemble so here's Ana amidst the hantaran she was giving to Adi..

While waiting, masih jugak sempat posing. Here's me and Adi yg masih cube menyembunyikan kenevesannye!

Then me, Adi, Izati and Imran (whom I just picked up from the floor. Suke giler budak tu merangkak sane sini time tu)

After everyone was ready, the official engagement was carried out. Here's Mama putting the ring on Ana's finger.

Then, it was TIME!

Still, we had to wait for the Tok Kadi for quite a while before he arrived. Sempat la kot Adi nak ilang neves kot? Ikram was acting as his second man here.. ntah ape tah adik beradik duorang ni dok bersembang time ni?

And.. the moment Adi became SUAMI ORANG! *clap²*

Actually, time ni sy plak nak nangis haha.. why?

Then Adi came to put the ring on his WIFE'S finger and Ana kissing her HUSBAND'S hands ♥

Sudah selamat!! ☺

Adieanna ~ Hantaran version

Yes, I know.. I know.. like my PhD, I've also been procastinating on the entry of the first big family event hehe..

Its a month and a day now since I officially gained a new sister. Suke² hehe.. but too many photos to choose from and too little time kan so I decided to separate the whole 'event' into a few parts with this one being the 'hantaran version' one. So here goes..

Actually a few months before, I asked Adi, "You nak theme mcmmane utk hantaran?" With 'theme mcmmane' tu meaning, what colour do you want. His reply was simple: PIRATE!

Terlompat kak Yong dia bile dgr.. adeh! I tau la dia nye keje is in the creative side, tp kakak dia ni tak penah wat hantaran langsung. Setakat tolong² kawan ade la, but to do something dgn theme pelik..

I was like,"You ingat ni birthday party ke nak theme pirate²" and he laughed sbb he was so sure of what he wanted. He could even describe to me a bit of what he wanted and since he was so confident with his choice, sedikit sebanyak sy mencair jugak mengikut kehendak dia.. Aissshhh Adi, sib baik sayang! Klau tak, I buh je lalang bnyk² kat your hantaran hehe..

Nevertheless, in the months after that, I still tried to pujuk² him to go with normal themes (normal to me is gune kotak plastic then lekat je ribbon² ikut theme colour.. yes, I'm THAT uncreative hehe..) but tak berjaya as Adi insisted on what he had already envisioned..

I arrived at Adi's doorsteps on the Wednesday before the wedding. Since it was noon, we went out for lunch with Ana as they were choosing the picture for their guestbook.. here's a pre-wedding photo of them from me (tanpe posing² bagai)..

Back at Adi's home, we assembled the things we already had for the hantaran while making a list of what we needed to go find. Sambil² tu dia menayang his guitar yang asalnye was supposed to be hantaran from Ana to him hehe.. tp last minute was canceled sbb they weren't sure how the elders would make of it. Ni gambo Adi tgh nyanyi kat Ana.. tp ngan suare cartoon.. cittt!

The next day, me and Adi went to go find the things for his theme. We had to find seashells (the theme dah di 'soft'kan sikit dari PIRATE kepade TREASURE CHEST.. Alhamdulillah! Heheh..), sand, 'fishnets' and others. Luckily the treasure chests diorg dah belikan beforehand ☺ Then we picked up Izati kat Mines (?) and had some lunch before sambung shopping. Nak tau ape Adi belanje..

Heheh.. suke!!

We went back to Adi's place dah dekat malam then singgah to one kedai near Adi's house. Ini muke bdk² yg penat bershopping sepanjang hari..

So mlm tu, pas mandi, we went to Ami's kejap. Dekat je rumah Ami and Adi. Suke giler jumpe mak buyut tu hehe.. mule la ckp bnyk tak berhenti and Kimin pun mesti pening tgk bdk² ni non-stop bercakap. Adi yg tak lalu makan pun leh habis mkn bubur kacang Ami, so sile lah bangge ye, Ami!

Then balik tu baru mule with Adi's hantaran. Silap, esok pagi baru mule tp mlm tu getting ready la ngan Annisa pun tolong sekali tamau tido sbb nak 'tolong Alang' haha.. Izati suh dia tido pun dia bleh 'telan' balik her yawn sbb nak tunjuk kat Izati yg dia tak ngantuk hehe..

So this was our first try..

..pakai letak je ni dulu coz we wanted to 'budget' how many choc coins to use and how we were supposed to put the 'diamonds and gemstones'. We had bought some flower thingeys jugak but in the end decided not to use them sbb cam terkelur from the theme. Haha.. okay what for first timers?!?!

Then we decided to assemble main² plak coz Adi kuciwe his guitar tak dpt dijadikan hantaran, so nak amik ati la and berlakon like it is the hantaran.. though terbalik la skit kan sbb we were making the ones to be given to Ana hehe..

The next morning, at FRIM itself baru we gam btul² and lekat btul² and susun btul² all we needed for the hantarans. Pas Subuh, me, Adi and Izati gathered in the living room of the guesthouse to prepare the hantaran, dibantu Imran yg jugak nak membantu kakak² n abang dia itu. So this was what us first-timers managed to do..

Ahahah.. sudah semestinye sy mau letak sy punye cookies. Butter cookies je, not gingerbread man and woman.. but special punye sbb for Wedding Edition. Tuxedo tu terpakse direfer pade lukisan Adi coz I couldn't imagine it offhand.

..telekung yg kitorg tak pandai nak gubah jadik bunge so just ikat ngan ribbon. Sgt la tak kreatip, sib baik Adi and Ana tak kisah huhu..

..dan ini pule perfume from J-Lo. Ana especially picked it sbb the bottle cam kene je with the theme ☺

..and iPhone (sbb masing² mmg nak tuko phone baru pun hehe..)

..and the duit mas kahwin. The pearl (yg tak nmpk itu tp nak bgtau jugak) in the shell kat atas tu real peral tau. Taken from my pearl bracelet yang putus aritu ☻

Satu bende yang sy tak tahan is the sirih junjung. I ni hantaran tu mcm penah la jugak tolong² but the sirih junjung mmg tak penah. Jenuh la pagi tu baru carik idea nak buat and we only had the white stand and a block of sponge. Hentam je la me n Izati and the result..

Heheh.. actually Salleh told me, you have to choose sirih that the 'urat' are symetrical when you fold it in half. Me n Izati only chose sirih with the same size haha.. adeh! Ini lah org yg tatau tp kene wat jugak for tradition sake.

All in all, okay gak kot kan? Heheh.. Adi was happy his vision agak menjadi and I terpakse akur lah ngan org² yg otak mmg lebih camtu. Who am I to say bende tu takkan jadi sedangkan I sendiri bkn org yg creative kan hehe..
