We needed some new family pictures, so I asked Michelle to take them for us. She always does a super good job with them. We went up to Salt Lake to the State Capitol Building and I love how they turned out.

A Fieldtrip with Hallie
I got to go with Hallie up to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point last week. We had so much fun and it was so great to spend the day with her. We got to ride on the bus together and even pack our own lunch and have a picnic. Our favorite part was jumping on the big trampoline (I didn't jump, I just watched.) And Hallie loved playing in the corn. Who knew that a house full of corn could be so much fun. We had so much fun that on the way home, we both fell asleep. After we got back to school we checked Abbi out and we all went to Coldstone for some ice cream. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
Simply Put
Just read his shirt and it pretty much sums it up.
This week he has
*Taken a hammer to my car
*Put Vaseline in his hair TWICE
*Opened an entire container of glitter and bedazzled my bathroom floor
Everyone always warned me that boys are different and that I should just wait until he got a little older. I will admit... I had NO IDEA just how out of control this boy was going to be. He is constantly making messes and is going to be the death of me. It's a dang good thing he's cute and when he is sweet, he is SUPER sweet and he has the ability to melt my heart.
Bedtime Stories
One night before bed after a long day of school and playing, the girls sat down and Abbi read Hallie one of her Junie B. Jones books. I was in the kitchen cleaning up dinner and looked over and saw Hallie slowly nodding off. Every time Abbi would stop reading, Hallie would open her eyes and ask her to keep reading. It was really, really cute.
I'm Not 3
For some odd reason, Korver does not want to be 3. Every time you ask him how old he is, he says he is 6. We love it an think it's really funny so we recorded it. He's full of it, this one.
Our Naughty Little Man Turns 3!
I couldn't decide what kind of cake to make Korver, so I decided to do a ball theme since he loves any and every kind of ball. They were really fun to make.
Korver was HILLARIOUS this year at his party. He would go from opening up one present to wanting to eat the cake to playing with his toys. I think it was all just so much fun for him, he didn't know where to start. When we would tell him to come open his presents, he would say, "I'm busy!" It was super funny. He made out with tons of fun new toys and even got a new Philli's hat and bat from Michelle and Kent (Michelle's boyfriend who is from Philadelphia) which he hasn't taken off since the party. Seriously, he had to sleep with the hat the night he got it.
Jeff and I got him a new bike and he got some building stuff from one set of grandparents and a big truck and horse trailer from his other grandparents.
He got a t-ball set from his aunts and uncles and some clothes and underwear from his sisters. Now if only he would get potty trained. It would sure make my life easier.
Anyway, there is one thing for certain, this little man is ALL BOY! It's so much fun and we sure love our little 3 year old little boy.
When I was little, whenever I would get a goose egg, my dad would feel around the bump and out an egg would pop. If I had been crying I would immediately stop. So, now when my kids get them, I do the same thing and magically an egg will appear. Parents at home, you may want to try this because no matter how bad their owie hurts, my kids ALWAYS stop crying because they are so excited about the egg that just popped out of their head. We usually keep it in the fridge until morning and make eggs or put it in pancakes. They think it's really cool. Hallie was so excited to show Abbi her egg. She wanted to take it to school, but I talked her out of it. I thought that would be the last thing her teacher would want was a broken egg all over her classroom. So, the next time one of your kids gets a bump on their head, feel around; you may just find an egg ;)
Lake Powell
We had the opportunity to go to Lake Powell this summer with my family (minus the kiddos!) It was my first time ever going there and I have to say, it goes down as one of my all time favorite vacation spots; I loved it so much.
Ha! The above picture is my dad and my mom's little dog, Max. For some reason it just makes me laugh.

There's a Kindergartener In The House
Miss H was SO excited to start Kindergarten and go to the big school. She could hardly wait to wear her new school clothes. She also picked hers out a few weeks in advance. The backpack she picked out with Grandma was a Justin Beiber one. She had a crush on him all through the summer (what pre K girl doesn't?) Well, the kids went and played night games with some of the kids in our neighborhood and Hallie took a liking to one of the little boys that live by us named, Mason. After playing with them and finding her new love interest she said to me, "Mom, I don't want to marry Justin Beiber anymore. I want to marry Mason. But it's o.k. I'll still keep my backback, because they probably don't make Mason backpakcs." I thought that was pretty cute.
This is Andrew who is her little friend that lives next door to us. They walk to and from school together.
The first day, I walked with Hallie and Andrew and Andrew's mom over to school to get some pictures. Hallie was so cute and obedient. She sat right down in her seat and got right to work.
Her teacher's name is Mrs. Kariuki and she is wonderful. We know Hallie is going to have a great year.
Camping In The Backyard
Since we weren't able to go camping at all this year, we decided to borrow a tent and camp in our backyard. The night started out great with roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. We even made s'mores which were yummy!
We had some yummy corn, too.
We waited until it got dark and then we watched a movie in our tent. We rented E.T. and the kids loved it. That was one of our favorite shows as kids so we thought they would love it, too. About halfway through the movie, it started sprinkling. By the end of the movie it was raining pretty hard and by the time our heads hit the pillows, it was downright pouring. I thought for sure we would end up inside, but surprisingly, we all made it a full night outside. It had stopped raining by morning and our tent kept us dry through the night. But we could tell some liquid was put down. It was a fun night and we decided it's the best way to go camping!
The 1st Day of 5th Grade
Abbi started 5th grade this year. I think she looked so cute on the 1st day. She picked out what she was going to wear weeks before school started.
Every year Grandma Diane takes her and buys her a new backpack for school. She LOVED the one she picked out this year.
The girls with Abbi are Julia and Emma who are sisters. Emma was waiting for her bus while we were taking pictures and wanted to be in them with the girls.
Lacie Had A Birthday!
Honestly, where did this year go? I swear I was just barely sitting in the hospital holding my brand new 8 lb 3 oz. baby. And now she is 1! Holy cow, time flies. We had a little family birthday party for her with grandparents. It was a fun day and she got some really fun things.
The kids were so cute with her to help her unwrap and play with her toys.
I made cupcakes with pink frosting for her and she loved them!
My Tiny Chefs
As I mentioned in a previous post, my kids love to cook with me. Usually when I'm making dinner I don't let them help very often, but I usually let them help when I'm making some kind of dessert or cookies. Their favorite part is, of course, licking the beaters.... and being silly!
What An Arm
Korver has discovered the show, The Sandlot, and has become obsessed with baseball. He got a mit a few years ago from his grandparents and is finally big enough to use it. He is constantly throwing baseballs and loves to play catch with Jeff.
For only being 2 years old, the kid has quite an arm. He aims and throws pretty darn straight. One Sunday we picked him up from nursery and his teacher's were like, "That kid sure has an arm!" I guess all he wanted to do was throw balls to them the whole 2 hours he was in there. We sure love our little man.
