Still feel very sad about the sudden loss of Andrew Weatherall whose music I listened the most of the day. But I had to decide to stop blogging or walk to road I stave in. So I continue the themes I planed for the next days. Brighton's Toy released an EP a few days ago with previously unreleased songs. Toy are a band you can agree to or you leave it. For me it is a band I follow during several years and these songs are in the tradition of their earlier releases. Strangulation Day is just another song in the tradition of Join The Dots, their second album and have ingredients of prog, krautrock and a bit of shoegaze. Always a pleasure listening to them.

Psyche, Psyche And Psyche Again
During the last month more and more bands appear on the scene playing their very own interpretation of classic psyche rock. A lot of them made remarkable albums and I ask myself the question: are the following a trend or do they really love this kind of music? For the most of those new bands I listened to I would say this is the music they wanted to play right now. It's not easy to the survey of all those new bands but Desert Mountain Tribe impressed me much. It's a three piece band from Croydon and Cologne knowing how to use feed-backing guitars, loops and thundering drums to make a great song. That might be the reason why Toy asked them for supporting them. Desert Mountain Tribe have drafted one of the finest debuts in Either That Or The Moon so far. So why stop at the moon - go on to the next galaxy.

Ha Howa Ha Howa
Maybe one of the craziest ideas these days was transfered to reality. Bat for Lashes' Natasha Khan, TOY and producer Dan Carey teamed to form Sexwitch to cover a bunch of early 60 psychedelic songs from Iran, Thailand and Morocco. The lyrics from the originals were transfered into English and the songs were recorded in almost one day. The result is nothing more than something magic and hard to describe music. Based on a permanent drums in the foreground some guitar and organ prepare the ground for Natasha's voice that reminds me sometimes to Siouxie Sioux. All in all music you can get addicted to.
