Christmas at STARS...

the last few days I have been stocking my space with Christmas...
not just the typical "Christmasy" items...but books and toys and paperwhites...
but I love the grab bags...great presents for someone or to keep...
maybe it is the colors that make me smile...
or towers and towers of ornaments...
or just the sparkles...
all I know is that I LOVE this time of year!

when I began this blog I had no idea that anyone would really read it...
much less "follow" it...
so as we sit around our table and count our blessings...I will include all of you in blogland that have been faithful followers of my blog, my life, my store, my business, my studio, my pets...

a peaceful first snow (sort of)

ok...so my husband's car wouldn't start...(he took a cab)
and my doors wouldn't open (frozen solid- son took bus and max to work)...
but as I wander around the yard, with my feet crunching in the snow, I find a little peace in the whiteness of it all...
and although I was going to travel over to STARS and re-do my booth for Christmas, I find that I have plenty to do here...STARS can wait just one more day...
and I take a few deep breathes...
and make hot cocoa...
and Cinderella seems to be so much better...she even played with our other dog this morning...
and life is good.

Cinderella update...thanks for the good thoughts...

well, she kept some rice and chicken broth down today...and seems so much better. Our darling Cinderella will put anything in her mouth...so I am thinking that she dug up something...and her stomach didn't like it.
I'll spare you the gory details, but she does seem better.
If she isn't back to normal tomorrow, off to the vet she goes...

Cinderella is sick... (not the Walt Disney one...)

yep...she kept me up all night...(just like a sick child)
my hope is that by putting it out there in blogland that enough people will think healthy and happy thoughts for her that she will get better faster...(cuz I am worried...she has never, ever, been sick before...)
so...if you have the time...happy thoughts for Cinderella, please!

WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO?

Should I sit on the princess chair and read?
should I imagine my holidays?
Should I dream of next year's vacation?
Should I play in here?
should I share a blanket with these two?
Should I sort through my Christmas ? ( I have far too much!)
tomorrow is my first day off in many, many moons. I am not complaining...I have been lucky enough to have done 4 estate sales since August...I am so honored that I have been working with super nice folks...
but...
what should I do tomorrow?

itty bitty treasures...

I find that if I am surrounded by small treasures I am so very happy...
whether it is rhinestones or butterflies...
small books and small bottles...
or treasure bags full of buttons or sewing bits or game pieces...
or letters or lace or cards...
i am just in love with the little bits and baubles that seem to find their way to me...
which explains why and how i found scrabble letters and mini jewels and bits of ribbon in the bottom of my handbag when i cleaned it out today...
oh and lets not forget the tiny dice and key that spilled out as well...
never know when you might need an itty bitty treasure to make you or someone else smile...

when dreams change...

when your dream of having a brick and mortar store doesn't work out...you move on...
my STARS mall space is doing great...and I am on the hunt for another space or two to sell my wares...
and in two weekends I will conduct a very large estate sale with LOADS of vintage goodies and treasures...
and in my few moments of free time until then, I will be sorting through the many boxes of treasures that we moved out of the store...in to my new studio space...since it is only 8 feet by 9 feet, many treasures will be priced and put in STARS for sale...(oh...and did I mention my blow out sale in the garage behind the store later in the month?)...
I feel like the luckiest girl to have this little house to call my studio...now that it is winterized it is no longer being called the "greenhouse" around here, but my hideout/studio...
cuz its a bit like having my own little tree house to decorate to become a true working studio...cuz I have all sorts of "ideas" for creating some (I hope :) fab paper products from vintage papers...
but I really have to be picky about what I keep...cuz when you put tables and shelves in a 8 by 9 foot space...there really is nothing left!
