Dear You

Morning Glory seeds germinate fast ;0)
Hello Good Morning Hi How are you!

I woke up to rain this morning and as I always do, I think God is telling me it is OK to stay inside and write letters, paint a picture, sit in the chair zone and read, stitch or watch lifetime movies. Or maybe all of that.  The one must-do on my list is ironing DH's shirts. And I can't put it off until I've run out of energy. So soon as I get done with the letter writing, I will iron.

I started out the day with my usual online reading because of course it is still night time. Today I slept late. Got up at 5:15. I usually try to get out to the gardening by 7 but since it was raining, I read longer.  OMGoodness, I just went outside! The rain has stopped and it is cool and not yet humid feeling and I want to be out there. Plans for the day might have changed. When I go out, I can't stay all that long but when I come in I'm usually a sweaty mess and all my energy is spent.  I take a shower and sit down and sometimes never get back up. Although, that frustrates me somewhat, I am blessed that I can now do that. So I'm just trying to be happy about it.

My current project out there starting yesterday is to redo the floor in the greenhouse. I didn't realize I would have such a problem of weeds coming up in there. I have some black weed blocking fabric that I want to put down and see if I can block them. I guess it was pretty stupid to think the weeds wouldn't come up in a greenhouse. Duh! It is the place that grows stuff. Well anyway, it is not an easy job and it is hotter than h☺☺! in there. I have to remove the pea gravel and square block pavers in order to put down the weed block.

Had to force myself out the door yesterday morning. But that's all it takes. My pores gulp the air in the shade and rejuvenate me until I have spent my energy and return in that sweaty mess.

That sweaty mess is making me wish for a wash and wear haircut and in some kind of weakness will probably go for it even though I teased that when I retire, I will let my hair grow and wear it back in a granny bun. That's what granny did. It is almost that long but I hate the daily washing (due to gardening and the sweaty mess) and fiddling with it.

I watched a really good movie last night. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel I missed the first part and now I wished I had seen all of it. I recorded the part that I got to see because I was making supper. It was really good. It was about British retirees who move to India and end up in a dilapidated hotel. It was about relationships and stuff like that. I'm going to check and see if it is coming on again and record the whole thing. I think it was on HBO which we get free every once in a while.

Well, I must stop and go iron the shirts.

What I got for my Birthday and a Ramble

It was yesterday. And what a fun day on Facebook. Have you had a Facebook birthday party? Amazing! I loved every single message. I was trying to respond to each but I'm afraid that got out in front of me and then I couldn't even find some of them. It was crazy good.

My DH honey brought these to me from the pasture late in the day. You may not know they are Passion Flowers.  I thought that was pretty special. He is too. Did you know we will celebrate 50 years this month? Yep, we've almost made it.

I think I got an Apple iphone too for my birthday. If that's the case, he got one too for my birthday. It was a little early (last Friday) and I guess that's why I didn't realize it was for my birthday. That thang sure is smart. I'll tell it to call you if I know your number.

My kids and grands were all here on the weekend and they didn't say anything but I think that was a birthday party too. We mowed, cut bushes, cleaned gutters, washed windows, and ate GP's grilled chicken and store bought pizza. Brownies for breakfast too! That's a party! Of course, I mostly directed all the work cause I'm on a few little restrictions after having eye surgery a week ago. The restrictions aren't too bad. No mowing, cutting bushes, cleaning gutters washing windows or cooking. The Doc said so. Oh and the bonus is, that dirty shower door I've been looking through has been cleaned and the world is clear as glass now.

My two bestest friends here in town both brought by wonderful gifts. They always do. I love them. The friends and the gifts.

Middle of the week holidays are good but I sure wished there was a holiday provision for Wednesday holidays. I mean, when that happens we should get the whole week off. Right? I need the whole week off cause I'm working real hard to be ready for A Diary of Faces that will start Monday. That's what I plan to do on my one holiday day. That and maybe design a cover for my iphone.

If you haven't signed up yet for the class, you're gonna miss one whoppin hugenormous class. Registration will close Sunday the 8th. Don't let the door close before you get in.  A very-nice-super-fantastic-group is waiting for me to open the door which was planned for Sunday. I might have to open it a little sooner so there isn't a traffic jam getting in.  Of course there are no assigned seats and plenty of room in the back and the front. No dress code either and bad hair days will go totally unnoticed. Thank goodness!

Bouncing Last Week

Last week, I found my self bouncing.
From one thing to the next.
It happens when inspiration and panic set in at the same time.
And when things are not going just right,
I abandon it.
Let it sit.
In a mess.
On the desk.
And then I calm myself with stitching.
Stitching dragons in moons.

I'm thinking I will be taking a little blog break this week.
Unless I have time to paint a masterpiece that I simply can't wait to share.

Good Morning Friends

Hello,
I'm backing up here because when I looked for the email with the address you wanted, I found this email from you.  I still haven't managed the mail art to send her but I will.

I swear, I remember getting this email; however, I don't remember a reply.  The reply that I don't remember is to the painting that you shared here.  Oh my, I don't know what to say about it. It is so "out there" like I guess "outsider" art.  Don't you think?  I really like it and it makes me want to get loose and do something like that.  But I don't know where to start.  Maybe in a dark closet without that other me.  One thing I can say is your being at home and with all the time in the world does make a difference in your art.  I just feel so pent up and tight and controlled and this morning I saw a huge snake on my walking path.  I'm sure it was harmless but it is scary.

I went out a little early this morning because I felt like I had so much on my mind to think about. I was anxious to get started.  The walk went by so quickly while I was hashing out stuff that I don't even remember now.  At the end of the walk, I stopped in the garden again and picked several heads of lettuce.  While I was cooling down from my walk, I washed it in my salad spinner.  Do you have one of those?  I'm not sure if that is what it is called but it is the best invention since sliced bread.....as they say.  Then, I made my lunch salad. It is huge.  Big enough for two and I wish you could join me.

I did have time after all that to paint a little bit on my latest.  I worked on her hand and did get some color on her face.  I'm always changing up how I paint a face and this one is on the bare canvas.  I really prefer painting faces on paper like paper collage on the canvas.   I also like to paint the face over a prepared background but on this one I did my sketch on one of my new canvases and so I just went with it.

The morning is getting by me and I need to tend to this desk a bit.

Sharing Random

I just took this from my office door. We don't get an annual snow here in central Texas. And so far it is not cold enough to be too pile up. Sure is pretty though coming down like this all day.

I did an interview for Meliss and she has posted it today. Click on over for my blab if you have a mind to. Meliss had some pretty good questions but my favorite was about that "what's the point jerk". Do you know him?

Another thing, Kathleen Nesi attended the Arthouse Library opening Brooklyn, New York this last weekend and she took pictures of my Sketchbook, A Timekeeper's Diary. She shared the pictures of her journey on her facebook page. That was so exciting to see Kathleen holding my book. Thank you Kathleen. Click on the "opening Brooklyn" link above to see the Arthouse Flicker photostream.

And here is the promotional flyer for the 2010 Sketchbook Project tour for the event with the schedule of other stops on the 2010 Library Tour. Can't tell you how cool it was to see my book again.

One more thing, Amy Wing at Gauche Alchemy has posted my napkin tutorial along with some very nice words. Check out the site for a lot of fun stuff. Thanks Amy.

There you have my random day. I think I might get to go home early today. My feet are cold.

That's random,

Sharon
