Kawaii Box review and giveaway

Hello!  I feel like it has been absolutely ages since I have done a Kawaii Box review and giveaway so I am really happy to be sharing this with you today!  If you like what you see then pop your details in the widget at the bottom of the post to be in with a chance of winning a box of your own *wink, wink*

Fun new design

If you haven't heard of Kawaii Box before then let me tell you a little about them!  The boxes are sent directly from Tokyo to your door and they are filled with 8 to 10 super cute items ranging from sweets to stationery and plushies.  It will cost you approx £15 for a one off box with free delivery or if you want to treat yourself regularly then the price of the box goes down when you subscribe to a 6 or 12 month plan.

Okay, now let me show you what was in mine!

A box full of cuteness!

Oh my gosh, it's all so sweet!

Information booklet

Each Kawaii Box comes with an information booklet that tells you about all the goodies you have been sent.  It is really nice to learn a little something about why each item was chosen to be included and how you can use them if you're not sure what to do with them.

Candy, hair tie, highlighter, pen, nail stickers & squeeze toy

I shared out the bag of watermelon sweets between my children as I'm not a big fan of anything melon flavoured and they all loved them!  My seven year old has claimed the set of doughnut hair ties for herself but the syringe highlighter, flamingo multi-pen, nail stickers and squeeze toy charm are all mine!

Cupcake kit, plush, stickers and washi tape

There was also a cupcake kit, some Hello Kitty washi tape and a Gudetama (the lazy egg) plush and pack of stickers in the box.  I have never heard of Gudetama before but my eldest daughter has so she asked for the toy and stickers as she thinks he is adorable!

It's so SQUISHY!!!

The Mochi squeeze toy is meant to look like a traditional Japanese rice cake treat, it is a bit plain but it's so squishy, I just can't stop playing with it!

Let's make cupcakes!

I wanted to try the DIY whipped cream cupcake kit so I checked out the handy tutorial on the Kawaii Box blog and then had a go at making my own creations.

My cupcakes and desserts

It was really fun making these miniature desserts!  The instructions online were easy to follow and now my girls dolls can enjoy some cupcakes and treats!

Pink, pink, pink

As a stationery fan I absolutely love this flamingo pen, it looks very sweet!  I painted my nails pink to match it and then used the cute nails stickers to really kawaii-fy the look.

My kawaii nails

Pink, glitter and unicorns... oh my!  All my favourite things!

Kawaii Box review and giveaway!

I love a good subscription box, receiving a parcel full of surprises in the mail is always fun!  Last year I reviewed a lovely box of goodies from Kawaii Box and last month they asked me if I would like to write another post for them.  I said yes and they sent me their March box out to review and they want to give one of you a box too!  There is a rafflecopter gadget at the bottom of this post, fill out your details and you might win your very own bundle of cuteness!

My parcel arrived very quickly from Singapore, but don't worry about the cost of shipping to your part of the world, it is free!  While we are talking money let me tell you about the subscription options:

  • A one month subscription - $19.80 per box
  • A three month subscription - $19.80 per box
  • A six month subscription - $18.80 per box
  • A one year subscription - $17.90 per box

In UK money that works out to approximately £14 to £12.50 a box depending on the plan you go with.  The longer you subscribe for the cheaper the boxes become.

Now on to the March box!

Pretty packaging

I love that the packaging is so pretty!  Everything inside is wrapped in pink tissue paper and you get a thank you postcard which lists all of your items.  Each box will have between ten and twelve products inside making them great value for money!

The thank you card is very cute!

First glimpse inside

Ok, here is what was inside the box...

Kawaii notebook, padlock, hairband & emoji keyring

Stationery! Stickers, gel pen & eraser

Chocolate treat

Bracelet, sleep mask & mini towel

Everything together

I am really happy with everything I got!  There isn't anything I'm not keen on, it is all fab!  I think this box has a bit of a travel theme going on?  The mini towel, sleep mask and padlock seem like holiday kind of items and the notebook, stickers and pen could be used to write a travel journal or record your holiday memories.  The polka dot hairband and bracelet are very sweet and who doesn't like chocolate?  The cute eraser looks like a piece of gum and I'm a sucker for foodie stationery.  I love the emoji keyring too.  I use the love/heart eyes emoji quite a lot so it is one of my favourites!

Kawaii Box reviewer of the month - July 2015

Hello!  Today I want to share with you the cutest subscription box!  I first heard about Kawaii Box last year when Mrs Brimbles reviewed a box for them and I thought the products she received were adorable so I bookmarked the website and added a box to my wishlist.

I recently contacted the Kawaii Box team and applied to be the reviewer of the month and happily they agreed and sent me my own box of goodies to show you.

How pretty is this packaging!?

The boxes are shipped straight from Singapore and mine only took nine days to reach me here in the UK (from shipping notice to delivery).  There are a few different subscription options to choose from including a one off box, three month, six month and twelve month subscriptions and the shipping is free so you only pay for the box or boxes you receive!  You can find all the options and prices here.

Just as pretty inside too!

Inside the box everything is wrapped in a piece of tissue paper and there is a thank you card which lists all the products.

So sweet!

Look at it all!  It's too, too cute!  Some of the pieces were wrapped in their own clear packaging so I have opened them up to show you properly.

All the stationery pieces

There were quite a few stationery bits in the July box, lucky me! I think the pencils are very pretty and who doesn't love a bit of glitter glue and sparkly things?  The eraser is sweet, I love Rilakkuma so the sticky note book is brilliant and I haven't brought any new sticker flakes in a while so it will be nice to use these ones.

Sweets and more

I also got a bag of Kracie DIY chain candy, the most adorable alpaca keychain, a mini plush mushroom, pretty pastel bracelet, kawaii toast coaster and a squishy doughnut mirror.  I have to admit, I wasn't sure what the toast shaped coaster was at first.  I thought it was cute but I had to look on the thank you card to see what it was for!

Rilakkuma sticky notes book

This is the Rilakkuma book folded out so you can see all of the sticky notes inside it.  I think I will smile each time I use one!

Flake seal stickers

Here is a selection of the sticker flakes, aren't they fun?

Soda and grape flavour candy

It's not every day you try a Japanese candy and find it's shaped like your initials, the pieces look like A's and C's to me!  You can link the sweets together to make your own candy bracelet or just eat them, whichever is more fun for you.  They kind of taste like fruity gum and it was nice to try something new.

Everything together

This is everything all together, each Kawaii Box contains between ten and twelve items.  I got eleven in mine and I think it was a fab selection.  I am struggling to pick a favourite item because I love quite a few of them!

Arty desk shot
notebook not included

So what did you think of the Kawaii Box?  If you loved it make sure you check back here next week as the lovely people at Kawaii Box have given me a box to give away to one lucky reader!
