Peacock Bassing
Early morning heavy traffic jam at the North South Highway during the Hari Raya season......
We lost a precious 40 min due to the earlier jam on the highway...... Found that the water level of Kinta River was at its peak, it must have rained for quite some time.
Reaching the pond in the late morning session....... After we had launched the boat, first is to locate the bait fish...... then comes the Peacock Bass.
The first Peacock Bass (PB) for our guest Mr. Fujino - a first timer of PB fishing.....
The size of the fish on that day was not big, but the quantity was a plenty and it really fought impressively to our guest........

And dinner at Tg. Tualang village for the famous Freshwater Prawns......... Totally sumptious according to our Japanese guest...... Yummy!

Peacock Bass boom
It's been 6 years since my first catch of Peacock Bass in Air Kuning, but I am still lured back here every so often because the Peacock Bassing game is booming yet.......The Peacock Bass originated from South America has become a successful native fish now in the Kinta river system when the rearing pond's embankment collapsed due to heavy flood many years ago.........
The aggressiveness of the Peacock Bass has become the main attraction for the lure fishing game over the years........
You can catch them during dry and wet season.........365days all year round........
Both boat fishing and land based casting also produces promising results. Top water lures and under water minnows works well too..........

Poor fish, it is still alive when we found it......... Looks like it was attacked by a Toman.....
Black & white beer mixing will help alleviate tiredness......... But, snack is Sampal Petai.....YIKES!
What a way to end the night.........
Next morning was not in our favour, 'coz it started rain in the whole morning........
Luckily I still managed to catch some fish...........

After getting back to KL in the afternoon........ I took a fish to a Japanese restaurant in Puchong called YOIICHI and asked the chef to make me a Peack Bass SHASHIMI & SUSHI........(Heard from a friend has tried before) And it was delicious....the flesh of the fish is fine and crisp...... Awesome!
