Percy Harvin watercolor.

Iknow I did not update this blog for a while, but it doestn mean I didn't do anything :D
Its been a fun couple of weeks. Between enjoying the spring time (getting out of my dungen :D), trying to restore the lawn, having a root canal done (actually it was remaking a root canal >.<), and getting a big huge blister on my palm, I actually finished some stuff up :D
This is one of the things.

This is the latest watercolor drawing for my friend. The guy in the picture is Percy Harving. He plays for Vikings now, but this is his college team uniform (Gators from Florida).
I don't really follow football, so this info is just for people who are interested at this kind of stuff :D

Another thing that I got finished is my entry for Summer contest at the E store. You have to wait until they post the entries first, then I can post it here. Don't want to ruin the surprise :D

Joe and Justin

Another watercolor commission for my friend :D
I don't think I am going to paint another one for a very long time (sorry Scott :D). I got a little burned out on all the sports portraits (and I think it shows >.<

Another Joe

Ahhh, the summer is here. Everything is green, the weather is nice and warm, the grilling season started. Also, summer means that the baseball season is here too.

I had to do another Joe Mauer painting for a friend for the opening of "Twin's Fest".
If I say so myself, I am getting better at drawing him (this is my fourth Mauer) >.<

Anyway, its 16x20 inches, watercolor drawing with airbrushed background (I added the black frame in Photoshop)

Baby's picture

Some time without an update, but I not procrastinating. I have way too many things too do and not all of them are happy.

This is a commission for a friend from work. It is a very sad story. His wife was expecting a baby, but they had some problems and he was born dead. The husband decided to commission this portrait of their son for this Valentines Day.
Rest in peace little angel

Twins picture

My friend is a big Twins fan, so I get to do a lot of sports figure commissions for him.
This weekend is a Twins festival, so of course I had to paint him another picture.

As always, I use airbrush for the background, watercolor for main work and some watercolor based pencils for small touch ups. The size is 16x20 inches.

The original photo was taken from Mothers Day game, so the players wearing pink bracelets, pins and pink bats.

Another watercolor portrait

I had to do another sport portrait commission. Its a Justin Morneau portrait. The piece is usual 16 x 20 inches size. The background was airbrushed and for the rest of it I used watercolors with some watercolor pencils.
I had the hardest time doing the chrome on the trophy. I am fully satisfied with result, but I had to rush this piece. At least I am very happy with his face.
The photo got a little bit distorted, so I had to crop it a little bit. I hope it doesn't distract too much.

Joe Mauer watercolor

Another commission for a friend who is absest about sports. I had to rush this piece a little bit, but I think it turned out very well. This piece is 16x20 inches, watercolor and watercolor pencils, the background is done with airbrush. I think I am getting better at drawing people, but the only problem is that it takes away time from doing my models >.<

Adrean Peterson from Vikings

My latest commission from a friend. I airbrushed background with acrylic paints and used watercolors for the rest of the portrait. It is 16 x 20 inches. I had only about a week to finish this up, but finally it is done. I am so happy now and I hope I can take a break from portraits for a while

New watercolor commition

For the last week I was working on a watercolor commition for a friend. This is already seventh portrait I painted for him, and finally my skill with portraits is improving (or at least I think so ).
The background done with airbrush, the rest is watercolors and some watercolor pencils for small details. It is 16x20 inches.

The funny thing is that I had to go and really force myself into doing this portrait. I restricted myself from touching any resin kits until this guy was done. So for a week I was resin deprived. It was very late when I was done with the picture and the next day I had to go to work early. At work, the only thing I could think was that once I get home I get to work on my resin kits. :)

I think I have a problem. I am showing all signs of addiction. Must be the resin fumes.
So here is the result of my next two days after commition was done.

My watercolor commition work

For last few weeks I've been working on this piece for a friend. This is a portrait of two girls, who are really really cute, and my job was to put on the paper their cuteness. The size is 16x20 inches and its all done in watercolor and some watercolor pencils. My friend was very happy with result. Actually I am happy too, I think my skills with portraits is improving. Also I am very happy because now I have some time to finish my resin kits
This is a photo of finished portrait, but it got a little overexposed by light.
So here is a scan that I took from a finished piece.
